Abstract

A package for electronic devices is described which is intended to protect the device from damage during transport. The package to be placed between the device and the transport container consists of a material based on chemical pulp, from which so-called hollow profiled parts are formed. The desired package is produced by combining these hollow profiled parts, for example by linking, stacking or nesting them. The elasticity properties, i.e. the softness or hardness of the package, can be varied to a great extent by this type of combination. The spatial design of the hollow profiled parts allows a space-saving nesting of the individual packages to achieve a minimum volume for storage and transportation of the packages. Due to the composition of the basic material, the package can be disposed of in a simple and environmentally friendly manner.

Description

According to the preamble, the invention relates to a packaging for protecting electronic devices from transport damage, which for this purpose encloses the device at least partially in a form-fitting manner and which at least partially fills the space between the device and the transport container.

Packaging of this type is generally known. For the packaging of consumer electronics devices, molded parts partially enclosing the device are used, for example made of polystyrene or corrugated cardboard or similar materials. However, these molded parts have the following disadvantages:
  • a) Large space requirement, since the molded parts are in most cases not stackable. This results in high storage and transportation costs.
  • b) The disposal of styrofoam moldings that are no longer required is complex. In many cases, these molded parts are stored in a landfill as non-degradable material. Only a very small proportion of the polystyrene molded parts are used in the shredded state, for example as soil loosening in gardening and landscaping. It is possible to burn the styrofoam parts, but so that no pollutants are generated, they must take place at temperatures above 1,000 ° C.
Since the majority of today's waste incineration plants operate at temperatures between 600 and 850 ° C, pollutants such as Co₂ and unburned hydrocarbons are generated when Styrofoam is burned.

The invention has for its object to provide a packaging and design such that
  • 1. it consists of an environmentally friendly, easily disposable material, and
  • 2. A changeable elastic deformability is made possible by stacking or stacking packaging parts as required.

The purpose of such packaging is to enclose a fragile good, in particular electronic devices, within a transport container so that, in the event of a fall or impact on the transport container, only those acceleration forces are transmitted which are below the damage limit of the packed product.

The object is achieved by packaging with the features of claim 1.

Parts of cellulose material similar to the hollow profile parts of the invention are known as food receptacles.

According to the task, similar in shape and material to these known food receptacles, hollow profile parts are used as parts between the device and the transport container. The high required elastic deformability of the hollow profile parts or the overall packaging is achieved only by a design of the hollow profile elements which corresponds to the respective requirements of the device and by their stackable type or one inside the other.

Within a package, the hollow profile elements of the individual hollow profile parts are the same in shape and size. This enables the packaging, e.g. for transport or warehousing, are nested one inside the other, whereby a volume reduced to a minimum can be achieved. Warehousing and transportation costs are thus reduced.

Disposing of the packaging according to the invention is completely unproblematic and environmentally friendly because the material can be burned as well as composted.

For the stacking of the individual hollow profile parts, the colliding hollow profile elements are designed in such a way that lateral interlocking of the hollow profile elements is prevented.

The invention is explained below with reference to the drawings. In detail show:
Fig. 1
a hollow profile part according to the invention,
Fig. 2
a packaging unit shown in section, consisting of packaged device, packaging and transport container,
Fig. 3

From Fig. 1 it can be seen that the hollow profile part 1 consisting of several hollow profile elements 2 is designed in such a way that the required elastic deformability arises and that several hollow profile parts can be placed on top of one another or nested inside one another.

The hollow profile elements 2 can have the form of single or multiple truncated cones, paraboloids or spherical caps.

Zur Vereinfachung der Darstellung ist der Schnitt durch die Verpackung schraffiert gezeichnet.2 shows an illustration in which the device 3 is enclosed on all sides by the packaging consisting of seven hollow profile parts and the space between the device 3 and the transport container 4 is thereby filled. To simplify the illustration, the section through the packaging is hatched.

The areas in which the individual hollow profile parts have hollow profile elements are hatched for simplicity.

The embodiment shown represents a packaging that encloses the device on all sides. By other design, e.g. by omitting hollow profile parts, fewer sides of the device can be enclosed if desired.

The individual hollow profile parts are connected to one another by hinge-like connections 12. These connections each contain at least one predetermined bending point 5 ', 8', 10 ', so that the hollow profile parts can be folded into a shape that envelops the device.

In a further embodiment, there are two predetermined bending points for each connection. As a result, the packaging can be folded up in an extremely space-saving manner in accordance with FIG. 4. The distances of the Target bending points 5'-5 '', 8'-8 '', 10'-10 '' on each connection are created differently according to the desired type of folding.

A design of the hollow profile elements 2 according to FIG. 5 makes it possible to stack the hollow profile parts 1 on top of one another. Since the surfaces of the hollow profile elements meeting one another have interlocking elevations 2a or depressions 2b, lateral fixing of the hollow profile parts 1 to one another is provided.

According to the design of the hollow profile elements 2, the hollow profile parts 1 according to FIG. 6 can be stacked one inside the other.

If the same hollow profile parts are used, the delay path that the device has available for the case can be varied within wide limits by stacking or stacking the hollow profile parts.

Accordingly, the force acting on the device changes reciprocally.
