Claims (8)
- A packing case for a number of containers (7), particularly paint cans, the case having an elongate shape for holding the containers (7), which are arranged consecutively in a row, and having retaining means (8) which engage the container lid (9) in order to secure the container (7) inside the packing case (1), characterised in that the retaining means (8) comprise tabs (8) which are non-displaceably disposed in a row inside the packing case (1), a tab being associated with each container (7) and, when the packing case (1) is closed, engaging the recessed lid (9) of each container (7) in order to secure it in position in the direction of the containers arranged in a row.
- A packing case according to claim 1, characterised in that the row of tabs is adjacent one side wall (4) of the packing case (1), the number of tabs in the row being equal to the maximum number of containers (7).
- A packing case according to claim 1 or 2, characterised in that the tabs (8) are integral with or firmly secured to the packing case (1).
- A packing case according to any of claims 1 to 3, characterised in that the shape of the retaining tabs (8) at least partially matches the shape of the recess (10) in each container lid.
- A packing case according to any of claims 1 to 4, for containers with a circular lid, characterised in that the tabs (8) are to a large extent approximately semi-circular.
- A packing case according to any of claims 1 to 5, characterised in that there is a recess (12) on the inside of the tabs (8) in the position abutted by the lid edge (11).
- A packing case according to any of claims 1 to 6, characterised in that the packing case (1) has one recess (13) on the inside of the side wall (4) at each position in contact with the container (7).
- A blank for a packing case according to any of claims 1 to 7, comprising at least one base (2), two adjoining side walls (4), at least one side flap (3) and corresponding end and joining tabs (5), all joined by fold lines (6) to form a single piece, characterised that instead of a lid flap (3), one side wall (4) is adjoined by a row of tabs which comprises a number of tabs (8) equal to the maximum number of containers (7) to be packed, each tab (8) having a shape suitable for engagement in a recess (10) in the container lid (9) and serving for securing the container in position in the direction of the containers arranged in a row.
