Abstract

A printing tower (1) comprises two superposed printing units (2, 3) of the satellite type. At least one satellite printing unit (2) is constructed such that adjacent blanket cylinders (6, 7 or 10, 12) can be placed against one another approximately in a horizontal plane (31). As a result, a web (22) of printing carrier, which has already been provided with ink on one side, can be fed, coming from below, to the satellite cylinder (4) and guided around the latter, after which the web (22) of printing carrier, coated with ink on both sides, can be guided vertically out of the upper satellite printing unit (2). A smear prevention or cleaning device (30) can be arranged between the ascending and descending region of the web (22) of printing carrier in order to remove ink being deposited on the satellite cylinder (4) or to prevent such deposits. Due to the advantageous guiding of the web, both the lower and the upper satellite printing units (2 and 3) are each freely accessible from both sides.

Description

The invention relates to a printing unit tower consisting of at least two satellite printing units arranged one above the other, in each of which up to four pairs of blanket-plate cylinders can be set against one another at least one satellite cylinder and two blanket cylinders.

Aus dem Fachbuch von Oskar Frei "Techniken, Systeme, Maschinen", Polygraphverlag, 1979 ist es bekannt, Druckwerke übereinander anzuordnen (z.B. Seite 13). From the specialist book by Oskar Frei "Techniques, Systems, Machines", Polygraph Verlag, 1979 it is known to arrange printing units one above the other (e.g. page 13). In the known printing units in satellite design (e.g. page 9 of the specialist book), four blanket cylinders can be placed on a common satellite cylinder, so that a printing material web, for example with 4/0 printing, can be provided (Figure 17 b, on page 9 of the specialist book). If such satellite printing units are arranged one above the other, for example to provide a printing substrate web with a face print (4/0) in a lower satellite printing unit and with a reprint (0/4) in an upper satellite printing unit arranged above it, at least two problems arise. On the one hand, there is a risk that the freshly printed ink will smear on the satellite cylinder of the upper printing unit and, on the other hand, there will be problems with the accessibility of the satellite printing units when guiding the web, in particular if a printing material web is initially in a lower satellite printing unit and then in an upper satellite printing unit four colors each (4/0 and 0/4) are to be printed.

The object of the present invention is to further develop the generic printing unit tower consisting of at least two satellite printing units arranged one above the other in such a way that with free access to the lower and the upper satellite printing unit Smearing of the freshly printed ink in the subsequent satellite printing unit is prevented, or that a continuous or intermittent cleaning of the ink or the satellite cylinders of the downstream printing unit is made possible.

This object is achieved in that in at least one satellite printing unit the blanket cylinders can be adjusted to one another in an approximately horizontal plane and in that an anti-lubrication or cleaning device can be adjusted to the satellite cylinder or cylinders in an approximately vertical plane between horizontally adjacent blanket cylinders.

In contrast to the prior art, in which adjacent blanket cylinders of a satellite printing unit can be placed against one another in a common approximately vertically extending plane, according to the present invention at least one satellite printing unit, preferably the upper one or, viewed from the application of the pressure, the respective downstream satellite printing unit, is so is formed that adjacent blanket cylinders can be adjusted against each other in an approximately horizontal plane. This has the advantage that an anti-lubrication or cleaning device can be arranged in an approximately vertical plane between the pairs of cylinders, which can be adjusted to the satellite cylinder. Thus, for example, in a lower printing unit, the printing material already coated with fresh ink on one side can come from below and past one side of the anti-lubrication or cleaning device past the satellite cylinder and around it, so that the other side can be printed, after which again down the printing material web, which is now printed on both sides, on the other side of the smearing prevention or cleaning device, can first be led out of the upper satellite printing unit. Of course, the lower satellite printing unit can also be designed according to the invention. In each satellite printing unit, the circumference of the satellite cylinder can correspond to that of the other cylinders or it can be twice the circumference. Can too Within the scope of the invention, two satellite cylinders can be used instead of just one satellite cylinder. Another advantage of the invention is that the printing material web, which is preferably coming from below in an ascending branch, can first be fed to the lower satellite printing unit, can be guided at the appropriate distance, so that the lower satellite printing unit remains freely accessible from both sides. The same applies to the upper satellite printing unit, since the web printed on both sides can advantageously be led out of the printing unit tower at a distance from the upper satellite printing unit.

The invention is described below using an exemplary embodiment with the aid of the drawing. This shows schematically a printing unit tower 1, which comprises an upper satellite printing unit 2 and a lower satellite printing unit 3. In the exemplary embodiment described here, only the upper satellite printing unit 2 is designed in accordance with the invention and it has only a single satellite cylinder 4, the circumference of which corresponds to the circumference of the other cylinders 5 to 12 provided in the upper satellite printing unit 2.

Die Zylinder 5 bis 12 sind im einzelnen jeweils Plattenzylinder-Gummituchzylinderpaare, nämlich 5, 6; 8, 7; 9, 10; 11, 12.The cylinders 5 to 12 are each plate cylinder-blanket cylinder pairs, namely 5, 6; 8, 7; 9, 10; 11, 12.

The lower satellite printing unit 3, which, as mentioned above, can be designed either in a conventional manner or according to the invention, also comprises a single satellite cylinder 13, on which plate cylinder blanket cylinder pairs 14, 15, 17, 16; 19, 18 and 20, 21 are adjustable.

A printing material web 22, preferably coming from below, can be fed to the printing unit tower 1 and can be covered with a maximum of four colors (4/4) on one side in the lower satellite printing unit 3 and in the upper satellite printing unit 2. In order to achieve free accessibility for the lower satellite printing unit 3 the ascending printing material web 22 is first guided at a corresponding distance from the lower satellite printing unit 3 around a paper guide roller 23 and then via a horizontal path to a paper guide roller 24 and fed from there down to the satellite cylinder 13. The printing material web 22 is guided around the satellite cylinder 13 so that four colors (4/0) can be applied to one side, after which the printing material web 22 is fed upwards, possibly via a paper guide roller 25, to the second satellite printing unit 2.

The satellite printing unit 2 is designed in accordance with the invention, ie the blanket cylinders 6, 7, 10, 12 which can be set on the satellite cylinder 4 can also be adjusted in pairs in an approximately horizontal plane 31. This results in a corresponding between the blanket cylinders 7 and 12 Free space in which a lubrication prevention or cleaning device 30 can be placed according to the invention. This smearing prevention or cleaning device 30 can comprise, for example, a spray bar, which prevents the fresh ink from being smeared when the printing material web 22 is guided around the satellite cylinder 4. Optionally, however, it is also possible to allow greasing if the device 30 consists of a cleaning device which cleans the fresh color of the satellite cylinder permanently or at intervals. In an ascending branch, the printing material web 22 is, according to the invention, fed to the upper satellite cylinder 4 on one side of the smearing prevention or cleaning device 30, and after the application of a 0/4 print, if applicable, to the other side of the printing material web 22, this becomes on the other side the lubrication prevention and cleaning device 30 down over paper guide rollers 26, 27, 28 and 29 first out of the upper satellite printing unit 2 and then away from the printing unit tower 1. The supply of the printing material web 22 to the lower satellite printing unit 3 has approximately the shape of an inverted U and the removal of the printing material web 22 coated on both sides with ink has approximately the shape of a U. on. By maintaining a corresponding distance of the web with the aid of the paper guide rollers 23 and 28 and 29, both the upper and the lower satellite printing units 2 and 3 can advantageously be made freely accessible, as can be seen from the schematically indicated operators.

According to the invention, the lubrication prevention or cleaning device 30 is arranged between the lower blanket cylinders 7, 12, specifically in a vertical plane 32 lying between superimposed blanket cylinders 7, 6 or 10, 12, and is preferably attached to the satellite cylinder 4 in this plane. and detachable from it.

Within the scope of the inventive idea it is also possible that the blanket cylinder pairs 6, 7 or 10, 12 cannot be adjusted against each other for blanket to blanket printing, e.g. such pressure is not needed.
