Description

The innovation relates to a punched knitting tool for textile machines, in particular knitting and knitting machines, with a shaft which carries at least one foot and has at least one space filled with a vibration-damping plastic, the plastic filling of which is firmly connected to the shaft.

Among knitting tools there are latch needles, point needles, sliding needles, needles without tongues, sinkers and the like. to understand.

In order to avoid or at least reduce the frequency of hook or head breaks that occur frequently with increasing knitting speed and thus to extend the life of the knitting tools accordingly, it is known from DE-PS 28 20 925, at least one coupled to the foot, to provide a slightly flexible bridge in the shaft and thus to convert the impact energy introduced into the foot by the lock parts of the machine into bending work. This narrow web has a maximum height of 1.1 mm and is therefore highly elastic with a length of more than 8 mm, for example. To increase the stability of such a strongly damped oscillating shaft having knitting tools, it is known from DE-OS 30 14 751 to provide a further, easily bendable web coupled to the foot, which together with the above-mentioned upper web and with the Upper shaft edge to the lower shaft edge continuous guide parts limited at least one free space. All of these knitting tools have proven themselves extremely well in practice.

From DE-PS 33 14 809, a further development of these knitting tools has become known in the sense that at least one space in the shaft which is closed or open at the edge is filled with a vibration-damping plastic which is firmly connected to the subsequent shaft. These free spaces are openings or recesses in the shaft which are directed transversely to the longitudinal axis of the shaft and which are optionally formed with profilings etc. on the edge side, in order thereby to ensure firm anchoring of the plastic filling. As a result of the combination between the plastic and the aforementioned, easily bendable webs, which have a height of at most 1.1 mm, the vibration behavior of the webs is influenced so favorably that there is a further increase in the knitting speed with simultaneous extension the life of the knitting tools can be achieved.

Because of the openings or recesses which form the respective free space and run from wide side to wide side of the shaft, the anchoring of the plastic filling the free space can only take place on the boundary surfaces of the respective free space, which are necessarily narrow due to the small thickness of the shaft. This problem can be solved technically without problems, but this may require special measures with regard to the edge design (see, for example, DE-PS 37 06 856).

Starting from this prior art, the innovation is based on the object of further improving a knitting tool of the type mentioned at the outset, which is set up for high knitting speeds in the sense that it maintains the described advantageous properties in mass production, simpler conditions with regard to the anchoring of the respective free space in the shaft filling plastic.

To achieve this object, the knitting tool is characterized in accordance with the innovation that the shaft, starting from the upper and / or lower edge of the shaft in its longitudinal direction, is at least partially provided in its longitudinal direction with at least one slit-like depression through which the free space filled with the plastic is formed.

The plastic is held on all sides in this slot-like depression, so that an excellent anchoring to the metallic shaft is easily ensured. The depressions forming the free spaces can be designed accordingly Slot cutters can be easily manufactured. In the case of a knitting tool having a full shaft, the depression is delimited on both sides by relatively thin cheek pieces, which hold the knitting tool elastically, so that in conjunction with the vibration-damping plastic filling the depression, the advantageous properties explained at the outset, i.e. low hook or head breakage frequency and long service life maintain high knitting speed or even further improve it.

The shaft can advantageously have at least one free space, at least in some areas continuous from the upper edge of the shaft to the lower edge, which has, for example, at least one projecting or recessed area on at least one side, so that there is additionally a positive anchoring of the plastic material. Pressing the plastic into such a continuous slot-like depression is also particularly simple. In principle, however, embodiments are also conceivable in which the shaft has at least one free space which is closed on the bottom and which is then only filled with the plastic from its opening on the upper or lower edge of the shaft.

In the case of a knitting tool, the shaft of which has at least two guide parts which are continuous from the upper edge of the shaft to the lower edge of the shaft and which are connected to one another by narrow webs which, together with the guide parts, define a space filled with the plastic, the arrangement is advantageously made such that a slot-like depression of the type described is arranged in the area of at least one web, the free space thus formed is also filled with plastic.

The height of the web can depend on the shaft dimensions, taking into account the damped vibration behavior to be achieved; however, in the preferred embodiments it is at most 1.1 mm.

Of the knitting tool shown in FIGS. 1 and 5 in two different embodiments and punched out of a steel band, only the shaft 1 is illustrated, which in each case carries a molded foot 2 in both embodiments. The knitting tool is, for example, a latch needle, the neck and head part (not shown) of which is formed in a manner known per se.

In the first embodiment according to FIGS. 1 to 4, the shaft 1 is designed as a so-called full shaft. It is provided in the area in front of the foot 2 with at least one slot-like recesses 3 which extend in the longitudinal direction of the shaft and which is limited to the area of the shaft shown in FIG. 1. The slot-like depression 3 extends from the upper edge 4 of the shaft to the lower edge (back of the shaft) 5; it is arranged symmetrically to the longitudinal center plane of the shaft 1 indicated at 6 in FIG. 2 and, as can be seen in FIGS. 1, 3, was milled in with suitable slot cutters, starting from the upper shaft edge 4 and the lower shaft edge 5. For this reason, the slot-like depression 3 is delimited on its two end faces by gusset-like material projections 7 which protrude into the free space formed by the depression 3 in the shaft 1.

This free space is completely filled with a plastic material designated 8 in FIGS. 3, 4, which just ends with the upper edge 4 of the shaft and the lower edge 5 of the shaft and which is firmly connected to the upper material delimiting the free space. The remaining cheek pieces 9 which delimit the free space formed by the slot-like depression 3 on the broad side are relatively thin, so that there is a high elastic flexibility of the shaft 1, which is damped by the plastic material 8 filling the free space.

Embodiments are conceivable in which several such depressions 3 are provided, which can also be arranged in front of and behind the foot. In certain cases, it may also be expedient not to carry out the slot-like depression 3 from the upper shaft edge 4 to the lower shaft edge 5, but instead, starting from the upper shaft edge 4 or the lower shaft edge 5, only to a certain depth which is less than the shaft height is to be enough, such that the slot-like recess 3 forms a closed space on the bottom, which is filled with the plastic 8 or 80.

In the second embodiment according to FIGS. 5 to 8, the shaft 1 has continuous guide parts 10, 11, 12 from the upper shaft edge 4 to the lower shaft edge 5, each of which is connected to one another by two parallel, opposing narrow webs 13, 14 from which are the webs 13 on the upper edge 4 and the webs 14 on the lower edge 5.

The webs 13, 14, the height of which is preferably at most 1.1 mm and which are generally longer than 8 mm, together with the guide parts 10, 11 and 10, 12 each delimit an elongated opening 15 and 16 on the edge side closed and filled with plastic 80. The plastic 80 is firmly connected on the edge to the edge of the opening 15 or 16; it fills the one from the breakthrough formed free space completely.

In this embodiment, two slot-like depressions 30 are formed in the shaft 1 in the region of the two openings 15, 16, which also extend in the longitudinal direction of the shaft and are arranged symmetrically to the longitudinal center plane 6 (FIG. 6) of the shaft. The two slot-like depressions 30 penetrate the upper webs 13 and run through the lower webs 14 without them emerging from the shaft 1 in the region of the lower shaft edge 5. Their outline is indicated by dashed lines in FIG. 5 and can be seen in its precise shape from FIG. 7. The slot-like depressions 30 are in turn filled with the plastic 80, which merges into the plastic filling of the openings 15, 16. As can be seen from FIG. 7, the slot-like depressions are profiled on the end face again in such a way that protruding gusset-like areas 7 and undercut areas 17 are present in the free space formed in each case by the depressions 30, which bring about a positive anchoring of the entire plastic filling.

Alternatively, at least one of the slot-like depressions 30 could also extend through the lower web 14 and thus open in the region of the lower shaft edge 5. Each of the slot-like depressions 30 extends essentially over the entire length of the web 13 penetrated by it. It is milled into the shaft 1 with a slot cutter and thus at least partially curved in a circular manner in the region of its lateral edges.

A typical shaft thickness for the knitting tools described is approximately 0.4 mm. The width of the slot-like recess 3 or 30 is in each case approximately one third of the shaft thickness, although naturally other width / thickness ratios are also conceivable. A polyamide is particularly suitable as the plastic for the plastic filling 8 or 80.

Claims (4)

  1. Stamped knitting tool for textile machines, in particular knitting and hosiery machines, with a shank (1), which is provided with at least one butt (2) and at least one free space filled with a vibration-damping plastic (8, 8c), said plastic filling (8, 8c) being firmly connected to said shank (1), characterised in that at least some areas of said shank (1) are provided in its longitudinal direction - extending from the upper and/or lower shank edge (4, 5) - with a slot-like cavity (3; 30) to form said free space filled with the plastic (8; 80).
  2. Knitting tool according to Claim 1, characterised in that the shank (1) has at least one free space (3) extending at least in some areas from the upper edge (4) through to the lower edge (5) of the shank.
  3. Knitting tool according to Claim 1 or 2, characterised in that the shank (1) has at least one free space (30) closed on the base side.
  4. Knitting tool according to one of the preceding claims, wherein the shank (1) has at least two guide portions (10, 11, 12) extending from the upper edge through to the lower edge of the shank and connected to one another via narrow webs (13, 14), which together with said guide portions (10, 11, 12) define at least one free space filled with plastic (80), characterised in that a slot-like cavity (30) is disposed in the area of at least one web (13), and the free space thus formed is also filled with plastic (80).
