Definitions
- the invention relates to the use of an air duct system of the type mentioned in the preamble of claim 1 and an air duct system adapted to this use.
- fire alarm devices are arranged in the rooms that are to be monitored, or in which there are fire-prone machines or the like.
- a suction line is generally connected to the air supply opening of the fire alarm device, which leads into the fire-endangered area and is provided with one or more suction openings.
- the air discharge opening of the fire alarm device generally opens directly into the environment.
- a blower is arranged in the interior of the fire alarm device, by means of which the air to be monitored is sucked in via the suction line and blown out via the air discharge opening.
- the fire alarm device contains sensors, for example gas sensors, heat sensors, optical smoke sensors or the like, via which the air to be monitored is passed and which emit an alarm signal in the presence of smoke in this air.
- An air duct system of the type described in the preamble of claim 1 is already known from US-A-2,966,838. This is used to supply combustion air for a heating unit to the heating unit from outside a building and to direct the combustion gases outside again.
- the invention uses the principle of the coaxial air ducts known from the cited document for a new purpose, one of the air ducts being connected to the air supply opening, if appropriate via suitable supply systems, and the other air duct being connected to the air discharge opening of a fire alarm device which, on the other side, delimits the space at risk of fire Wall is arranged.
- the first air duct is provided at its end facing the room to be monitored with means for connection to an air intake line, which is led, for example, to the fire-endangered area of the room to be monitored and with or is provided with several suction openings.
- the end of the second air duct facing the room to be monitored can have an outlet opening through which the air leaving the fire alarm device is blown out directly into the room to be monitored.
- the two air ducts are arranged coaxially with one another.
- the air distributor preferably consists of an outer pipe section which can be inserted directly into the wall opening adapted to the outer contour of this pipe section, and of an inner pipe section arranged concentrically in the outer pipe section.
- the inner pipe section serves as the first air duct to be connected to the air supply opening of the fire alarm device and protrudes with its two ends in the axial direction over the outer pipe section
- the outer pipe section serves as the second one to be connected to the air discharge opening
- Air duct serves and at its end facing the adjoining room through one with a passage opening for the inner tube section provided tube sheet is closed, in the region of this end a connection piece is provided for connection to the air discharge opening of the fire alarm device.
- the tube sheet thus serves at the same time for concentrically holding the inner tube socket.
- the end of the outer tube section facing the space to be monitored is covered by a deflection hood provided with a passage opening for the inner tube section.
- At least one ring flange is fixedly arranged on the outer tube section, which can be connected to this wall receiving the air distributor.

- the fire alarm device 2 consists, in a manner known per se, of a housing 4 in which a blower 6 is arranged. By means of the fan 6, the air to be monitored is sucked into the housing 4 through an air supply opening 8 and blown out of the housing 4 again through an air discharge opening 10. Within this housing 4, the air is passed through sensors 12 which detect a change in the air caused by a fire. Such sensors exist, for example, as gas sensors, heat sensors, ionization smoke detectors, optical smoke detectors and the like.
- the fire alarm device 2 is arranged below a floor wall or floor 14, which for example forms the upper boundary of a raised floor for a room to be monitored.
- the space 16 to be monitored lies above the floor 14.
- an opening 18 penetrating this wall is formed in the bottom 14.
- An air distributor, designated as a whole by 20, is arranged in the opening 18, via which the fire alarm device arranged below the floor 14 is connected to the room 16 to be monitored, which is located above the floor 14.
- the air distributor 20 has two air channels 22, 24, which each pass through the air distributor 20 from one side of the floor 14 to the other side, ie, both air channels 22, 24 connect the space below the floor 14 with that above the floor 14 room to be monitored 16.
- the end 26 of the air duct 22 which opens into the space below the floor 14 is provided with means for connection to the air supply opening 8 of the fire alarm device 2, as symbolically represented by the continuous line 28.
- the one that ends in the bottom 14 End 30 is provided with means for connection to the air discharge opening 10 of the fire alarm device 2, as indicated by the solid line 32.
- the end 34 of the air duct 22 facing away from the end 26 is provided with means for connection to an air intake line 36.
- This air intake line 36 is led into the fire-prone area of the room 16 and, in the example shown, has a plurality of openings 38 for drawing in the air to be monitored;
- Such arrangements in connection with a smoke alarm device 2 are referred to as line smoke alarms, for example.
- the end 40 facing away from the end 30 of the air duct 24 and facing the room to be monitored is designed directly as an outlet opening 42, via which the air, after it has flowed through the fire alarm device 2, is released again into the room 16 to be monitored, as with the dashed lines Arrows 44 is indicated.
- the air distributor 20 essentially consists of an outer tube section 46 which can be inserted directly into the opening 18 in the bottom wall 14.
- the opening 18 has a cross-sectional shape that corresponds to the outer contour of the tube section 46.

Abstract
