In der DE-OS-32 06 218 wird eine Bauplatte offenbart, die eine feuerhemmende Schicht enthält, wobei diese Schicht aus Glimmer und einem feuerfesten Bindemittel besteht. Die primäre Zielsetzung der offenbarten Bauplatte liegt in einer hohen Festigkeit, weshalb sie relativ aufwendig ist und ein relativ hohes Raumgewicht aufweist. Demgegenüber sind Bauplatten auf Bitumenbasis, welche beispielsweise für die Herstellung von sogenannten Wellplatten geeignet sind, bekannt, die jedoch keine feuerhemmende Eigenschaft aufweisen. So beschreibt die EP-A-0 126 939 ein dünnschaliges Formstück aus kunststoff- oder bitumengebundenem Verbundwerkstoff, der mindestens in Bereichen von höchst kritischer Zugbeanspruchung von aussen mit einem Verstärkungsmaterial stoffschlüssig verbunden ist. Die Beschichtung ist vorzugsweise in einer Stärke von 2 bis 3 mm auf die Bitumenplatte aufgebracht. Die Bauplatte besteht aus einer Bitumenwellplatte 1 als Trägermaterial, welches aus Zellulose und Bitumen besteht, und aus einer auf das Trägermaterial aufgebrachten Beschichtung 2 mit einer Dicke von 2 bis 3 mm, die feuerhemmend ist und aus einer Mischung von Glimmer und einem feuerhemmenden Bindemittel besteht, welches vorzugsweise eine feuerhemmende Dispersionsfarbe ist. Diese dient sowohl als Bindemittel für den Glimmer als auch für die Haftung der Beschichtung auf der Bitumenplatte. Das Glimmer-Farbgemisch wird mittels eines Spritzsystems "Airless" aufgespritzt und die anschliessende Trocknung erfolgt in einem Trocknertunnel mit Umluftsystem, wobei der Dispersionsfarbe das Wasser entzogen wird. Das asbestfreie aufgetragene Glimmer enthält gebundenes Kristallwasser, welches bei der Erwärmung ab 100° C verdampft und den Glimmer bläht oder exfoliert, wodurch zwischen der Bitumenplatte und der Beschichtungsoberfläche eine Dämmschicht entsteht. Diese Dämmschicht, die bis 10 mm Dicke erreicht, verleiht der Bauplatte die Widerstandsfähigkeit gegen Flugfeuer und strahlende Wärme. Sie verhindert das Durchbrennen der Bitumenplatte.
