Abstract

The building-panel consists of a bituminous corrugated panel (1) and of a coating (2) applied thereto, composed of mica and fire-retardant binder, preferably a fire-retardant latex paint. After spraying on the coating, drying takes place with removal of water. The building-panel then exhibits resistance to wind-blown fire and radiating heat. <IMAGE>

Description

The invention relates to a fire-retardant construction board for use as a wall or roof-forming element, consisting of a bitumen plate, comprising a fire-retardant coating on at least one side.

The object of the invention is to provide a building board which is resistant to flying sparks and radiant heat and which meets the requirements of DIN 4102, Part 7.

The primary objective of the construction board disclosed is high strength, which is why it is relatively complex and has a relatively high density. In contrast, construction boards based on bitumen, which are suitable, for example, for the production of so-called corrugated sheets, are known, but they have no fire-retardant property. For example, EP-A-0 126 939 describes a thin-shell molded piece made of plastic or bitumen-bonded composite material which is bonded to a reinforcing material at least in areas of extremely critical tensile stress from the outside. These thin-shell shaped pieces can be a corrugated sheet and have at least one coating of a mixture of ceramic material and a binder on one side.

It is therefore an object of the present invention to propose a building board based on bitumen, which is said to have the fire-retardant properties mentioned above.

To achieve this object, the building board has the features of claim 1.

With the mica applied together with a fire-retardant binder as a coating on the carrier material consisting of a bitumen plate, the advantage is achieved that the crystal water contained in the mica evaporates when heated from 100 ° C and expands the mica, creating a gap between the coating surface and the carrier material Insulating layer is created, which can reach up to 10 mm thick and prevents the backing material from burning through. The coating is preferably applied to the bitumen plate in a thickness of 2 to 3 mm. The binder for the mica is preferably a fire-retardant dispersion paint which, in addition to serving as a binder for the mica, also serves for the adhesion of the coating to the carrier material.

  • Fig. 1 und 2 Seitenansicht und Draufsicht einer als Wellplatte ausgebildeten efindungsgemässen Bauplatte;
  • Fig. 3 den in Fig. 1 eingekreisten Ausschnitt in grösserem Massstab.
An embodiment is explained below with reference to the drawings. Show it:
  • Figures 1 and 2 side view and top view of a construction board designed as a corrugated sheet according to the invention;
  • Fig. 3 the detail circled in Fig. 1 in on a larger scale.

The building board consists of a bitumen corrugated sheet 1 as the carrier material, which consists of cellulose and bitumen, and a coating 2, applied to the carrier material, with a thickness of 2 to 3 mm, which is fire-retardant and consists of a mixture of mica and a fire-retardant binder, which is preferably a fire retardant emulsion paint. This serves both as a binder for the mica and for the adhesion of the coating to the bitumen plate. The mica paint mixture is sprayed on by means of an "airless" spray system and the subsequent drying takes place in a dryer tunnel with a circulating air system, the water being removed from the emulsion paint. The asbestos-free applied mica contains bound crystal water, which evaporates when heated from 100 ° C and expands or exfoliates the mica, creating an insulating layer between the bitumen plate and the coating surface. This insulation layer, which reaches a thickness of up to 10 mm, gives the building board its resistance to fire and radiant heat. It prevents the bitumen plate from burning through. The building plate can be designed as a corrugated plate or as a flat plate, the structure of the plate being the same.
