Description

The present invention relates to suction devices with a squeegee which are capable of being adapted at the end of an operating handle or a grip handle, in order to eliminate the dirty water when cleaning certain surfaces. Devices of this type include both an elastic squeegee and suction orifices or channels allowing the suction of the cleaning liquid previously spilled on the surface to be cleaned, by means of a pump connected to a collection tank. .

A cleaning head thus equipped is described in patent FR 2,485,405. This head comprises both a permeable pad for spreading a cleaning liquid and squeegees arranged on both of the front and rear front faces of this head, as well as suction orifices provided facing both of these squeegees. During the movement of this cleaning head on the surface to be cleaned, the squeegee located behind pushes the liquid previously spilled on this surface in front of it so that the latter is sucked through the corresponding suction orifices. In fact, this cleaning head is in principle designed so that the squeegee in use leaves only a liquid film which can disappear quickly on drying on the treated surface.

However, the actual operating conditions of such a cleaning head are not fully satisfactory and do not allow the desired result to be obtained. In particular, the efficiency of the suction of the liquid to be eliminated is insufficient. This is mainly due to the fact that the suction orifices are located at too great a distance from the contact edge of the squeegee with the surface to be treated.

This is why, the present invention aims to provide a suction scraper device designed so that the suction of the cleaning liquid is carried out with maximum efficiency.

To this end, the device according to the invention is essentially characterized in that:
- Its squeegee consists of a blade of elastic material inside which are provided suction channels opening on at least one of the two faces of this squeegee by orifices aligned parallel to the corresponding lower edge of this squeegee and close to it,
- flexible suction lines are connected to the suction channels thus provided, leading to a roller pump, which is also connected to a reservoir for collecting the dirty cleaning liquid to be eliminated.

Due to the particular design of the squeegee provided in the device according to the invention, the suction of the liquid to be removed is carried out under optimum conditions of efficiency. This therefore effectively makes it possible to leave only an extremely thin film of liquid on the surface to be cleaned, which is liable to disappear quickly after drying.

It should be noted that the present invention also relates to the squeegee of a particular design which is intended to equip the cleaning device as defined above.

In a particular embodiment of this device, it further comprises a brush or other member capable of ensuring the spreading of a cleaning liquid coming from a reservoir connected to this spreading member by one or more pipes. power supply.

In the embodiment shown in Figures 1 to 4, the cleaning device according to the invention comprises a squeegee 1 of elastic material, one of the longitudinal edges of which is fixed to a rigid casing 2 of elongated shape. At its center, it includes a sleeve 3 intended to receive an operating handle 4 or possibly a grip handle. In the first case, the present device can be used to carry out the cleaning of a smooth floor, for example in tiling or limestone, while in the second case it can be used for the cleaning of all other smooth surfaces, for example panes or vertical walls, etc.

The squeegee 4 is formed by a flat strip of rectangular shape, made of elastic material, for example natural or synthetic rubber, or even plastic. According to the invention, a series of suction channels 5 are formed in the very thickness of the body of the squeegee 1, these channels extending parallel to the two large faces of this squeegee. At the end 6 of the latter, which is turned on the side opposite to the casing 2, the channels 5 are bent alternately towards one and the other of the two large faces of this squeegee and they open to the outside by orifices 7. These are located in the immediate vicinity of one or other edge 8 of the squeegee which is in contact with the ground, depending on whether the latter is inclined in one direction or the other (see figure 4). These orifices are aligned parallel to the neighboring edge 8.

On the opposite edge of the squeegee 1, the suction channels 5 terminate in outlet orifices 9 to each of which is connected a flexible suction pipe 10. The various pipes thus provided lead to a roller pump designated by the general reference 11. These pipes are divided into two groups separate arranged on either side of the rotor 12 of this pump, so as to be crushed by the rollers 13 carried by this rotor, which ensures the suction of the liquid to be removed without risk of defusing the pump. At their terminal ends, the pipes 10 are connected to pipes 14 leading to a reservoir intended to collect the dirty cleaning liquid, this reservoir being capable of being emptied periodically. As shown in Figures 1 and 2, the reservoir 15 and the pump 11 are arranged on either side of the sleeve 3 in the lengthwise direction of the casing 2. These two elements are moreover fixed or included in the casing. It is the same for the electric motor 16 for driving the rotor of the pump 11, as well as for the rechargeable accumulators ensuring the supply of this motor with electric current.

The cleaning device thus formed is intended to be applied to the surface to be treated after cleaning thereof, by means of an appropriate cleaning liquid, this liquid being able to be spread in any desired manner. The purpose of the application of this device is to eliminate the liquid on the corresponding floor S so as to leave only a thin liquid film capable of disappearing quickly on drying. For this purpose, it is necessary to slide the squeegee 1 on the ground by placing the assembly in the inclined position shown in FIG. 4. The squeegee is then in contact with the ground by its lower edge 8 situated towards the front. Under these conditions, this edge repels before it the cleaning liquid spilled on the floor, so that it is immediately sucked through the orifices 7 located on the front face of the squeegee. Since the suction channels are provided inside the squeegee and their inlet ports 7 open in the immediate vicinity of the edge 8 in the working position, the suction of the cleaning liquid is carried out under optimum conditions of efficiency. Of course, in such a case, the suction is carried out only through the channels 5 which open onto the face of the squeegee which is placed forward. However, by the very fact that there are provided inlet ports 7 on both sides of the squeegee 1, the present cleaning device can be used by being inclined either in one direction or the other. .

Figure 6 shows an alternative embodiment of the squeegee fitted to the cleaning device according to the invention. In this variant, the corresponding squeegee 1a comprises a cutout 16 in a step along one of the edges of its working end. As for the suction channels 5a, they are arranged inside the part of the body of this squeegee which is located directly above this step cutout. The inlet orifices 7a of these channels are located at the location of this cut, in the immediate vicinity of the neighboring edge 8a of the working end of the squeegee.

Consequently, in this alternative embodiment, the squeegee 1a must always be oriented in the position shown in FIG. 6 so that the cleaning heads are moved in the direction of the arrow F. The same advantages are thus obtained as above, c that is to say, a suction of the liquid to be eliminated, in the immediate vicinity of the scraping edge 8a on the smooth surface.

Figures 7 and 8 show another embodiment of the cleaning device according to the invention. In it the casing 2b of the corresponding cleaning head carries not only an elastic scraper 1b, but also a brush 17 arranged opposite one of its large faces and which is intended to serve of a member for applying a cleaning liquid to the surface to be cleaned. The supply of this brush with cleaning liquid is ensured by a series of small channels 18 opening opposite it. These channels start from a distribution ramp 19 provided on or in the casing 2b, the latter being connected by a pipe 20 to a reservoir 21 containing a reserve of cleaning liquid. This reservoir has a removable closure element allowing it to be filled periodically.

However, the cleaning device according to Figures 7 and 8 also includes the same elements as in the previous embodiment, in addition to the squeegee 1b already mentioned. It therefore comprises a pump 11 with rollers, inside which flexible suction pipes 10 terminate, connected to the outlet orifices of the channels 5 formed in the thickness of the squeegee 1b. The ends of these flexible pipes are connected to a reservoir 15 intended to collect the dirty cleaning liquid after aspiration by the pump 11. Of course, the casing 2b also includes a sleeve 3 intended to receive an operating handle 4 or a handle of gripping.

The cleaning device according to FIGS. 7 and 8 is intended to be moved in contact with the surface to be cleaned, in one direction and in the other, while then tilting it differently. By tilting it in the position shown in Figure 8 to move it in the direction of arrow F it is possible to remove the cleaning liquid previously spilled on the floor, and this under the same conditions as in the embodiment according to Figures 1 to 4. However, by tilting the same device in the opposite direction and sliding it in the opposite direction to that of the arrow F, it is possible to use the brush 17 to apply the cleaning liquid on the surface to be treated. These two operations can therefore be carried out successively with a single working tool.

In this alternative, the lower part of the casing 2c of this device is equipped with a rotary brush 17c arranged opposite the face of the squeegee 1c at the end of which open the suction channels 5c formed in the thickness of this squeegee. This rotary brush is intended to replace the fixed brush provided in the embodiment according to Figures 7 and 8. However, as this brush 17c is located opposite the suction ports 7c, and not on the opposite side, the device cleaning thus formed is capable of being moved on the surface to be cleaned in one direction F1, both to ensure the spreading of the cleaning liquid on the surface to be treated and to suck it behind the brush 17c through the channels 5c of the corresponding squeegee.

However, the cleaning device according to the invention can be the subject of numerous other embodiments. Thus, the brushes 17 and 17c could be replaced by any other suitable members for spreading a cleaning liquid on a surface to be treated, for example a porous or spongy pad. As already noted in the case of the two embodiments of FIGS. 7 and 8 on the one hand, and of FIG. 9 on the other hand, this applicator member can be located opposite the large face of the squeegee on which open the suction channels, or else on its large opposite face. However, there may also be provided a squeegee of the type of that according to FIGS. 4 and 5, that is to say a squeegee comprising suction channels opening onto one and the other of its large faces.

Furthermore, the housing of the cleaning device can have a shape very different from that appearing in FIGS. 1 to 7 and which is more especially designed in the case of an apparatus intended for cleaning the floor. In fact, in the case of a device intended for cleaning windows or any other vertical surface, this casing may have a very different shape in order to be able to be held easily in the hand by means of a grip handle.

Because of its advantages, the cleaning device according to the invention can be used with great efficiency for cleaning various kinds of smooth surfaces. As already indicated, the invention also relates to cleaning scrapers specially designed to equip the cleaning devices described above.
