Claims (6)

  1. Machine for fitting labelling sleeves over bottles or the like, characterized in that it comprises a device (1) for discontinuously offering up labelling sleeves, a device (4) for continuously filing the bottles to be labelled past, an assembly (2) for transferring the labels from the device (1) for offering up the sleeves and towards the bottles of the device (4) for filing the bottles past, this transfer assembly including several independent sleeve-support carriages (8), these carriages being movable on an endless guide path (10), a motorized and endless flexible belt (18) progressing, over guide means (17₁, 17₇), in proximity to the guide path (10), means (18, 19, 20) providing the connection of the flexible belt and of the carriages, this flexible belt (18) locally exhibiting at least one zone (18₁) which progresses perpendicularly to the belt, in the form of a loop, for momentarily halting the carriages (8) in succession in front of the device (1) for discontinuously offering up the sleeves.
  2. Machine in accordance with Claim 1, characterized in that the carriages (8) each include two supports (14) for receiving the sleeves, these supports being movable towards one another over slideways (13) and each interacting with a closed cam path (15) in order to bring the supports together and move them apart.
  3. Machine in accordance with Claim 1, characterized in that the means providing the connection of the flexible belt (18) and of each carriage (8) are made up of a driver (19) which can move in a slideway (20), this driver and this slideway being fixed, one to the carriage (8), the other to the belt (18).
  4. Machine in accordance with Claim 1, characterized in that it includes a device (3) for fitting the sleeves onto the bottles filing past continuously, this fitting assembly receiving the sleeves from the transfer assembly (2) and including several gripping devices (23) for the sleeves, these devices being associated with means (29, 30, 32, 35, 36) ensuring the translational displacement of these gripping devices in a closed line.
  5. Machine in accordance with Claim 4, characterized in that the device ensuring the translational displacement of the gripping devices (23) comprises a drum rotatably mounted and composed of two end flanges (22) including, at their periphery, the gripping devices (23) for the sleeves, these gripping devices (23) being provided with pulleys or the like over which there passes a belt (29) which is also connected to a fixed pulley (36) coaxial with the axis of the drum.
  6. Machine in accordance with Claim 4, characterized in that each end flange (22) of the drum is associated with a fixed annulus (28) provided, at its periphery, with a circular cam groove (28₁), drivers (27₁, 27₂) connected to the gripper devices becoming housed in these cam paths in order to move the gripper devices apart or bring them together.
