Abstract

A writing utensil, in particular a fibre pen, marking pen or liner with two optionally usable, different writing tips is provided which are disposed at the same end of the writing utensil and nested into each other and can thus be jointly supplied by a writing material reservoir.

Description

The invention relates to a writing instrument, in particular a fiber pen, marker pen, liner or the like with the features of the preamble of claim 1.

A writing instrument with these features is known from GB-A 2,116,915. This document shows a writing instrument with two writing elements that can be optionally used. These are concentric with each other and with their writing tip facing the same end of the writing instrument. Both writing elements are fed out of the same writing material storage which is fixedly arranged in the writing instrument housing. For the relative displacement of the two writing elements to one another, a special actuation mechanism that can be operated from the outside is arranged in the rear part of the writing instrument housing. The writing element of smaller diameter is axially displaced with the help of this actuating mechanism compared to the writing element of larger diameter. The actuating mechanism takes up a considerable amount of space in the rear area of the writing instrument housing. In this embodiment, it is advantageous that the different line widths are not ensured, for example, by the shape of a single writing element, but by two separate writing elements, each set to the line widths. The line width remains practically unchanged even with frequent use. Since both writing elements point towards the same end of the writing instrument with their writing tips, the device need not be turned either, as is the case with devices in which two writing elements with their effective writing tips are provided at the opposite ends of the writing instrument. The nesting of the two writing elements largely protects them from drying out.

Compared to such a writing instrument with the features of the preamble of claim 1, it is an object of the invention to develop this device so that easier handling is possible and an even more reliable supply of both Writing elements are guaranteed either from a common or from two separate writing material stores until the writing material supply is used up.

This object is achieved by the teaching of claim 1.

The holding sleeve enables easy grasping and axial displacement of the writing element of larger diameter. In contrast, the writing element of smaller diameter is firmly arranged and is thus immersed constantly and unchanged in the associated writing material storage. If a common writing material storage is provided for both writing elements, the writing material transfer via the sliding surface between the two writing elements is substantially supported. The holding sleeve for the writing element of larger diameter is slidably guided in the holding bush in which the writing element of small diameter is firmly inserted. The holding sleeve and the holding bush can therefore be connected to one another in a simple manner via a slot / pin connection for a relative movement of limited extent. Another actuation mechanism, as is required with the writing device of GB-A-2,116,915, is not necessary here. The new design also makes it possible to supply the two writing elements with writing material from different and separate writing material stores with regard to their color. The writing material storage can extend to the rear end of the writing instrument housing, since a special actuating mechanism is unnecessary.

The relative displacement of the two writing elements can be realized in different ways.

The invention is explained below with reference to schematic drawings of two exemplary embodiments.

The writing instrument 1 according to FIGS. 1 to 4 consists of a writing instrument housing 2, in which a writing material storage or tampon 4 is fixedly arranged. The open end of the writing instrument housing 2 can be closed by a push-on cap 3, the open end of which is formed by elastically deflectable webs separated by slots, so that the cap 3 can also be pushed onto the thicker, closed end of the writing instrument housing 2.

In the open end of the writing instrument housing 2, a holding bush 5 is firmly inserted, if necessary also glued. The bottom of the socket 5 is formed by a crossbar 5a. The outer end of the writing material storage 4 has a transverse recess 16, in which the transverse web 5a of the holding bush 5 is received. The memory 4 can thus be pre-assembled together with the holding bush 5 in the writing instrument housing 2.

In the crosspiece 5a of the holding bush 5, the inner end of an elongated writing element 9 of small diameter is inserted and, as shown at 10, fastened. The inner end of the writing element 9 protrudes far enough into the writing material storage 4 via the crosspiece 5a in order to allow the writing material to pass reliably into the writing element 9 under capillary action if necessary.

The writing element 9 of smaller diameter is accommodated over a large part of its length with a sliding fit in a longitudinal bore 8 of a writing element 7 of larger diameter, so that both writing elements are nested concentrically and over the entire length of the bore 8 in a promoting the transition of the writing material Are in contact with each other.

The writing element 7 of larger diameter is received by a holding sleeve 6 which is received in front of the front open end of the writing instrument housing 2 and engages with a plurality of extensions 6a so that it can rotate in the open end of the holding bush 5. The extensions 6a have radially projecting lugs or pins 14 which snap into the guide and control grooves 13 of the holding bush 5 when inserted. The pins can also be provided on the holding bush 5 and the slots 13 on the holding sleeve 6. The slots are provided helically opposite each other with a slight pitch, so that they each cause a self-locking lock between the holding bush and the holding sleeve in the end positions.

By relative rotation of the holding sleeve 6 with respect to the holding bush 5, the holding sleeve 6 is displaced outward or in again by an axial displacement 15, depending on the length and the slope of the slots 13 with respect to the holding bush 5. The writing element 7 of larger diameter takes part in this relative movement than the writing element 9 of smaller diameter. In the outwardly pushed position of the holding sleeve 6 (FIG. 3), the contact surface of the writing element 7 with a writing pad lies with the end or the contact surface of the writing element 9 of smaller diameter, so that in this writing position (FIG. 3) there is a continuous, uniform contact surface 7a Writing pad is available. Since the writing element 9 is generally made of harder or firmer material than the writing element 7, in this writing position the writing element 9 also helps to stabilize the position of the writing element 7 and to reduce the wear on its contact surface 7a, i.e. the service life of the To enlarge contact area 7a. By relatively pushing back the holding sleeve 6 with respect to the holding bush 5, the writing element 7 is also withdrawn with respect to the writing element 9, whereby the writing element 9 is exposed (FIG. 4), so that writing can now be done with fine line width without problems and in the normal position of the writing instrument.

In the modified exemplary embodiment according to FIGS. 5 and 6, the slots 30 of the slot / pin connection 30, 31 are arranged parallel to the axis of the writing instrument. In the example shown, the holding sleeve is denoted by 26, the holding sleeve by 25, the extensions of the holding sleeve by 38, 29 and the pin 31 which engages in the slot 30.

The end positions of the slot 30 are assigned detents 32 and 33 which secure the writing elements in the end positions for writing use.

The writing instrument 41 according to FIGS. 7 to 10 consists of a writing instrument housing 42, in which a first writing material store 44a and a second storage 44b for a different writing material are arranged concentrically to one another. The two writing material stores are separated from one another by a tubular separating body 50. The open end of the writing instrument housing 42 can be closed by a push-on cap 43, as has already been described in the first exemplary embodiment.

A holding bushing 51 is firmly inserted into the open end of the writing instrument housing 42. This is shown in Figures 8 to 10 in detail and on a larger scale. It consists of an outer sleeve which is firmly inserted into the writing instrument housing 42 and which has oblique control slots 52 in its outwardly pointing end region. Arranged in the interior of the holding bushing 51 is a cutting section-shaped central section 56 projecting inwards from a transverse wall. This has a hollow mouthpiece 53, on which the tubular separating body 50 is sealingly and firmly placed. The writing element 48 of smaller diameter protrudes through its bore 54 and engages in the inner writing material storage 44a and is in constant intimate contact with this writing material storage. The writing element 48 can have an outer writing tip part 49. This writing element 48, 49 is received by a separating sleeve 60 over most of its length. The inner end of this separating sleeve is firmly and sealingly received in a corresponding bore in section 56. In this way, the internal writing material system is reliably and completely sealed from the external writing material and nevertheless allows a reliable writing material flow from the memory 44b to the external writing element 49.

As can be seen from the figures, the outer writing material storage 44a overlaps the inner section 56 of the holding bush 51 which engages deeply in the outer writing material storage 44a. In the area of the holding bushing 51, this writing material store has an inner bore in which the outer writing element 47 of larger diameter can slide in the axial direction to a limited extent, which is in constant exchange with the writing material storage 44a. The outer writing element 47 is supported by a holding sleeve 46, which engages with a plurality of axially inwardly projecting projections 46a in a rotatable and axially displaceable manner in the open end of the holding bush 51. The extensions 46a have radially projecting pins 52a which snap into the control grooves 52 of the holding bush 51 when inserted. By turning the holding sleeve 46, it moves in the axial direction with the outer writing element 47 of larger diameter. Compared to the fixed inner writing element 48, 49, this can thus be pushed axially into a writing position or pushed back into a non-use position relative to the latter.
