Abstract
Description
The invention relates to a vending machine for newspapers and the like. as well as a mint testing device for machines. Known vending machines for newspapers are equipped with a container for holding the newspapers and an output device which, after mint insertion, feeds a newspaper to a lower output slot by actuating a handle, the newspapers standing on a guideway being pushed by spring force against a bar running parallel to the output slot and the output device has a driver which acts in particular by piercing and which, when actuated by the handle, raises the foremost newspaper so far that its lower edge is lifted above the bar.
In known vending machines of this type, the newspaper is said to fall downward through the dispensing slot only after gravity has been lifted over the bar. However, it has been shown that jamming very often occurs here, and the machine therefore operates unreliably.
In another machine of the type described at the outset, which is known from US Pat. No. 4,043,484, the dispensing device has, in addition to the needle-shaped carriers which move the newspaper upwards, further needles which move the newspaper downwards after the newspaper has been lifted over the bar. A corresponding control of the needles is provided for this purpose. Even with these known machines, jamming, misalignment or tearing of newspapers occurs more often because, depending on the thickness, inserted brochures, moisture and similar influences, the friction conditions are very different and the machine cannot adjust to the different conditions.
The invention has set itself the goal of creating a vending machine that does not have the disadvantages shown, which therefore works perfectly even under different conditions. This is achieved in that the driver is mounted on a preferably transparent plate which can be moved by means of the handle and which is in contact with the foremost newspaper and which is provided with a projection directed towards the newspaper which, in the uppermost position of the plate, extends over the upper edge of the the foremost newspaper comes to rest on the bar. In a vending machine designed according to the invention, the newspapers are therefore pressed against the displaceable plate and moved downward in a position against the plate by the projection. Due to the flat transport position of the newspaper under all circumstances, there is no misalignment and no jamming with all the unpleasant consequences.
Safe control of the driver is achieved if the driver designed as a needle is arranged on a pivotably mounted lever which interacts with a fixed control cam.
Another feature that significantly influences the functionality of the vending machine is that the strip consists of individual resilient slats arranged next to one another. This compensates for irregularities.
It is furthermore expedient if the guideway is guided by driveless endless conveyor elements, e.g. Has conveyor chains. This compensates for different friction conditions and the advance of the newspapers always requires essentially the same forces.
Mint testing equipment is required for vending machines. The invention therefore also relates to a coin checking device for an automatic machine which, after correct coin insertion into a coin channel, has a lever or the like. releases for actuation, at least some of the coins inserted being stackable one above the other and the height of the stack or the like by insertable bolts. is definable.
A large number of coin testing devices have already become known, but they are either very complicated, in particular by electrical circuits, or are easily prone to jamming or other malfunctions. Especially in machines that release objects of relatively low value after the correct mint injection, e.g. Newspapers, it is less important that the coins be checked very precisely. The smooth functioning is much more important because if the machine does not work, despite correct mint injection, the user is upset and sometimes even tempted to do damaging or destructive actions.
The invention has therefore also set itself the goal of creating a mint testing device of the type mentioned above, which is simple in construction and is largely trouble-free in operation without the need for electrical circuits. In addition, the number of coins required to release the operation should be easily adjustable. This goal is achieved in that the coin channel is arranged in a manner known per se between two plates and protrusions protrude between the two plates, which have spacings corresponding to the size and position of the mints, with the bolt free space to the side for coins not falling through remains that recesses are also provided in a plate in the area of the upper coins of a stack, by means of which levers which are pivotably mounted on a further plate can be pushed and which are pressed outwards in the presence of a coin.
In a device according to the invention, the path or the position of the coins between the plates can be clearly determined, jamming of the coins or the lever causing the release is largely ruled out.
In order to ensure a safe return of the coins already thrown in the event of a failure that may occur, according to a further feature of the invention, the bolts are mounted in a bolt carrier adjoining the plate, or the like by means of an actuating button. is movable away from the coin channel. By pressing the button or the like. the path for the coins is therefore completely cleared.
A simple separation of the coins to be collected and the coins to be returned, both in terms of structure and operation, is possible if the plates delimiting the coin channel with the levers and the bolt carrier are pivotally mounted as a unit over a partition wall that separates the coin return and the coin collector.
The invention is described in more detail below on the basis of exemplary embodiments illustrated in the drawings, without being restricted to these examples. 1 shows a section through a vending machine along the line 1-1 in FIG. 2; 2 shows a section along the line II-II in Fig. 1; 3 to 6 in an enlarged measuring rod compared to FIGS. 1 and 2 individual positions of the output devices; 7 shows a longitudinal section through the coin channel; 8 shows a section along the line VIII-VIII in Figure 7; 9 shows a section along the line IX-IX in Figure 7; Fig. 10 is a section similar to Figure 9 with the pivot position of the bolt carrier. 11 to 15 show different positions of the levers which release the actuation, and FIGS. 16 and 17 show the pivotable unit in two different positions.
Diese Leiste 8 verläuft parallel zu einem Ausgabeschlitz 9 für die Zeitungen 2.According to FIGS. 1 to 6, there are
The
The mode of operation of a vending machine according to the invention is explained below in particular with reference to FIGS. 3 to 6.
After inserting the correct coin or coins, the
The
The
If there are 121 coins in the area of the recesses, the
The entire unit consisting of the
Should any malfunction occur, the
The number of coins to be inserted is by no means limited to five, e.g. a further level up could be connected for a 10, - coin, or instead of the 5, - a 10, - coin or coins of other currencies at all be provided.
