Definitions
- the invention relates to a coin checking device for an automatic machine which, after correct coin insertion into a coin channel, releases a lever or the like for actuation, at least some of the coins inserted being stackable one above the other and the coin channel being arranged between two plates and between the two Plate bolts or the like protrude, which are spaced according to the size and position of the coins, and there is free space on the side of the bolt for coins which do not fall through.
- a large number of coin testing devices have already become known, but they are either very complicated, in particular by electrical circuits, or are easily prone to jamming or other malfunctions. Especially in machines that release objects of relatively low value after the correct coin insertion, e.g. Newspapers, sweets or the like. It is less important that the coins be checked very precisely. The smooth functioning is much more important because if the machine does not work, the user is annoyed and sometimes even tempted to do damaging or destructive actions even if the coin is inserted correctly.
- GB-A-753 266 describes a coin checking device in which a check for the presence of a coin is carried out by the interaction of a lever with a recess.
- the arrangement is extremely complex for each type of coins due to the arrangement of separate coin chambers.
- the invention has therefore set itself the goal of creating a coin testing device of the type mentioned, which is simple in construction and is largely trouble-free in operation without the need for electrical circuits.
- the number of coins required for releasing the actuation should be easily adjustable, and jamming of the coins should be practically impossible.
- This goal is achieved in that recesses are provided in a plate in the area of the upper coins of a stack, that an additional plate lying on this plate and displaceable parallel to it can be connected to an operating lever or the like of the machine and carries pivotally mounted levers which are pressed into the recesses of the plate by springs and pushed away from the plate in the presence of coins.
- the path or the position of the coins between the plates can be clearly determined, jamming of the coins or the lever causing the release is largely ruled out.
- the bolts or the like are, according to a further feature of the invention, stored in a bolt carrier which adjoins the plate and which is removed from the coin channel by means of an actuating button or the like is movable away. By pressing the button or the like, the path for the coins is thus completely cleared.
- FIG. 1 shows schematically the coin checking device installed in an automatic machine
- 2 shows a longitudinal section through the coin channel.
- Fig. 3 is a section along the line III-III in Fig. 2;
- Fig. 4 is a section along the line IV-IV in Fig. 2;
- Fig. 5 is a section similar to Figure 4 with the pivot position of the bolt carrier.
- 6 to 10 show different positions of the levers which release the actuation, and FIGS. 11 and 12 show the pivotable unit in two different positions.
- a coin validator 2 is arranged in the housing 1 of a vending machine, which, after the coin has been inserted correctly, releases the actuation of a rod 3 by means of a handle (not shown).
- the movement of the bar is transmitted to the mechanism of the vending machine via a driver 4. This mechanism is not essential to the present invention and is therefore not described.
- the coin validator 2 has three plates 5, 6 and 7 lying next to one another, the plates 5 and 6 delimiting a coin channel 8.
- the plate 7 overlaps the plates 5 and 6 with lateral shoulders 9 and is mounted so as to be displaceable relative to the plates 5 and 6 by means of lugs 10.
- a bolt carrier 11 is provided, in which bolts 12, 13 and 14 are arranged.
- the bolts 12 and 13 are fixedly secured in the bolt carrier 11 and protrude into the coin channel 8 in the position of the bolt carrier 11 shown in FIGS. 2, 3 and 4.
- the bolts 14 are displaceable in the bolt carrier 11 so that they can be moved into the Coin channel 8 can be moved in or out of this.
- the displacement takes place via a pin 15 which is eccentrically fastened to an axis 17 and which engages in a groove 16 of the respective bolt.
- the bolts 12 and 13 determine the path or the position of the coins inserted into the coin channel 8 through a slot 18. In the example shown (Fig. 2) it is provided that a 5-shilling coin 19 and 1-shilling coins 20 can be inserted.
- the distance between the bolts 12 is selected so that the coin 19 gets caught there, but coins 20 can fall over to the side.
- the bolts 14 can be inserted into the path of the three lower coins 20, so that an amount of 6, 7, 8 or 9 shillings can be set depending on the number of inserted bolts 14.
- the plate 6 has recesses 21 in the area of the coin 19 and the upper coin 20 and carries in this area pivotably mounted levers 22 which are pushed against the plate 6 or the recesses 21 by springs (not shown).
- the rod 3 is connected to the plate 7 and these two parts can only be lifted together.
- the entire unit consisting of the plates 5, 6 and 7 and the bolt carrier 11 is pivotally mounted at 23 and a guide 24 and a bolt 25 sliding therein are provided, by which when the plate 7 is pulled up the unit moves to the right into the Fig. 12 pivots position, in which the coin channel comes to lie on the side of a partition 26 above the coin collector 27.
- the bolt carrier 11 is pivoted about a vertical axis into the position shown in FIG. 5, so that the coins can fall freely into the coin collector 27.
- the bolt carrier 11 can also be pivoted into the position shown in FIG. 5 by means of an actuation button (not shown) in the non-raised position of the plate 7 (FIG. 11), so that the coins on the other side of the Partition 16 fall into the coin return.
- the number of coins inserted is by no means limited to five, e.g. a further step up for a 10, - S coin can be connected, or a 10, - S coin could be provided instead of the 5, -.

Description
The invention relates to a coin checking device for an automatic machine which, after correct coin insertion into a coin channel, releases a lever or the like for actuation, at least some of the coins inserted being stackable one above the other and the coin channel being arranged between two plates and between the two Plate bolts or the like protrude, which are spaced according to the size and position of the coins, and there is free space on the side of the bolt for coins which do not fall through.
A large number of coin testing devices have already become known, but they are either very complicated, in particular by electrical circuits, or are easily prone to jamming or other malfunctions.
From GB-A-2 005 891 a coin checking device has become known which has the features mentioned at the beginning. With this known device, however, a correct check of all inserted coins can only be achieved incompletely.
Die Einrichtung ist jedoch zufolge der Anordnung von gesonderten Münzkammern für jede Art Münzen äußerst aufwendig.GB-A-753 266 describes a coin checking device in which a check for the presence of a coin is carried out by the interaction of a lever with a recess. However, the arrangement is extremely complex for each type of coins due to the arrangement of separate coin chambers.
The invention has therefore set itself the goal of creating a coin testing device of the type mentioned, which is simple in construction and is largely trouble-free in operation without the need for electrical circuits. In addition, the number of coins required for releasing the actuation should be easily adjustable, and jamming of the coins should be practically impossible. This goal is achieved in that recesses are provided in a plate in the area of the upper coins of a stack, that an additional plate lying on this plate and displaceable parallel to it can be connected to an operating lever or the like of the machine and carries pivotally mounted levers which are pressed into the recesses of the plate by springs and pushed away from the plate in the presence of coins.
With a device according to the invention, the path or the position of the coins between the plates can be clearly determined, jamming of the coins or the lever causing the release is largely ruled out.
In order to ensure a safe return of the coins already inserted in the event of a failure, the bolts or the like are, according to a further feature of the invention, stored in a bolt carrier which adjoins the plate and which is removed from the coin channel by means of an actuating button or the like is movable away. By pressing the button or the like, the path for the coins is thus completely cleared.
A simple separation of the coins to be collected and the coins to be returned, both in terms of structure and operation, is possible if the plates delimiting the coin channel with the levers and the bolt carrier are pivotally mounted as a unit via a partition that separates the coin return and the coin collector.
The invention is described in more detail below on the basis of an exemplary embodiment shown in the drawings. 1 shows schematically the coin checking device installed in an automatic machine; 2 shows a longitudinal section through the coin channel. Fig. 3 is a section along the line III-III in Fig. 2; Fig. 4 is a section along the line IV-IV in Fig. 2; Fig. 5 is a section similar to Figure 4 with the pivot position of the bolt carrier. 6 to 10 show different positions of the levers which release the actuation, and FIGS. 11 and 12 show the pivotable unit in two different positions.
The
Following the
The
If there are 21 coins in the area of the recesses, the
The entire unit consisting of the
Should any malfunction occur, the
Numerous modifications are still possible within the scope of the invention. The number of coins inserted is by no means limited to five, e.g. a further step up for a 10, - S coin can be connected, or a 10, - S coin could be provided instead of the 5, -.
