Description

The present invention relates to a shelf support, provided to support the latter in a cantilever fashion on a wall and comprising at least two profiled parts forming between them a groove having an upper side, a lower side and a bottom on the wall side, as well as an opening on the side opposite the bottom, through which a shelf edge can be inserted into the groove, a first profiled part forming one of said upper and lower sides of the groove, a second profiled part forming the other of these sides, means for adjusting the spacing between the upper side and the lower side of the groove, as a function of the thickness of the tablet, as well as means for fixing the support to the wall.

It is known to support edges of shelf shelves by longitudinal U-shaped profiles between the wings of which the shelf edge is pinched (see GB-1126253 and GB-1214455). These sections are however fragile because, by their very shape, their wings are mechanically easily deformable.

We tried to solve this problem by making the clamping wings of the support non-deformable to the maximum. A solution according to the known state of the art consists of a support comprising an elongated U-shaped profile in which the upper and lower wings of the U are each part of a triangular structure which is, in essence, known to be difficult to deform (see GB-A-2053666).

The non-deformable nature of the support therefore improves its capacity for supporting the cantilevered tablet. However, a problem arises in the introduction of the shelf, since the elastic spacing between the upper and lower wings being excluded, great precision in the manufacture of the profiles and shelves is required so that they are properly seated in the groove of the profiles.

We have therefore tried to obviate this last drawback by proposing shelf supports having both a certain mechanical strength and a certain elasticity. Solutions have been provided according to which the lower part of the profile is undeformable, while the upper part has a certain capacity for elastic deformation (see GB-A-2155310 and US-A-4508301). We even managed to develop a tablet support opposing the same resistance as that of the support described in GB-A-2053666 and also allowing flexible introduction of the tablet into the support and wedging thereof by pinching elastic between the upper and lower wings of the profile (see EP-A-236586).

Although last supports according to the known state of the art allow a certain tolerance in the thicknesses of the shelves without their pinching blocking in the support being altered, it is understood that this tolerance has limits.

Aussi on a envisagé récemment des supports de tablette d'étagère du type décrit au début, selon le préambule de la revendication 1.Also, shelf shelf supports of the type described at the start have been contemplated recently, according to the preamble of claim 1.

We know in particular the shelf supports put on the market by the firm Robert Lewis (Marylebone) Limited under the trade name of Regal (R) Shelfit or by the company Aldeghi Luigi spa under the trade name of Art. 2590. Shelf supports identical to the first mentioned are also placed on the market under the trade name of Schadébo (R) .

In these known supports, two parts have been provided made in perfectly non-deformable forms. One of the pieces is fixed to the wall. The other is fixed to the first by a screw system, which, after placing the shelf edge against the piece fixed to the wall, allows the shelf to be clamped between the two pieces by screwing.

These supports have several disadvantages such as that of requiring a large number of spare parts, a special machining of the parts, after their shaping, to allow the process screwing and fixing of the shelf by tightening resulting solely from the force of the screwing, in specific places.

The present invention aims to develop a shelf shelf support of the type described at the beginning which has both the advantages of this type of shelf support, that is to say an adaptation to shelves of '' different thicknesses, and the advantages of a support allowing the setting of the tablet by pinching in the groove of the support. Advantageously, these supports must also overcome the drawbacks presented by the systems with regard to the aforementioned supports according to the known state of the art.

To solve these problems, provision has been made, according to the invention, for a shelf shelf support of the type described at the start, characterized in that at least one of the lower and upper sides of the groove has at least one capacity zone. elastic deformation which facilitates the insertion of the edge of the shelf into the opening of the groove and allows a pinching of this edge in the groove, after the insertion, in that, after the insertion of the edge of the shelf into the groove , the second profiled part is in an interposed position between one face of the tablet and a support element of the first profiled part, and in that the spacing adjustment means are provided on the abovementioned support element and on the second profiled part so as to cooperate to position the latter reciprocally as a function of the thickness of the shelf edge, before its insertion into the groove.

According to one embodiment of the invention, the support element is provided to be non-deformable and part of the second profiled part is, opposite the wall, projecting beyond the support element, this projecting part forming said zone with elastic deformation capacity. According to an alternative embodiment, the support element comprises, on the wall side, a non-deformable section and, on the side opposite to the wall, an elastically deformable section, and the second profiled part forms said zone with capacity for elastic deformation. According to yet another variant, the support element and the second profiled part are provided with non-deformable shape and the first profiled part has at least one elastically deformable section. forming said zone with elastic deformation capacity.

According to an improved embodiment of the invention, as spacing adjustment means, the support element and the second profiled part are provided with mutual hooking members which cooperate by form, so that, in any chosen adjustment position, the second profiled part is parallel to itself.

According to a preferred embodiment of the invention, the first profiled part comprises a wing forming the upper side of the groove, a core forming the bottom of the groove and a support element supporting from below the second profiled part forming the lower side of the throat.

In the drawings, identical or analogous elements are designated by the same references.

As can be seen in particular from FIGS. 1 and 2, the illustrated shelf shelf support comprises two parts profiles designated by general references 1 and 2.

The first illustrated profiled part has an upper structure with a triangular cross section, which is designated by the general reference 3 and of which a first side is formed by an application wing 4 intended to bear against a wall, a second side is a wing base 5 extending perpendicularly to the wall and a third side forms a spacer wing 6 which extends obliquely between the upper end of the application wing 4 and the end opposite the wall of the base wing 5.

The first profiled part 1 also comprises a core 7 which extends downwards substantially in the extension of the application wing 4. It also has a lower structure with approximately triangular cross section, which is designated by the general reference 8 and of which a first side is formed by an application wing 9, which extends downwards substantially in the extension of the core 7, a second side is a support wing 10 and the third side forms a wing d spacer 11 which extends obliquely between the lower end of the application wing 9 and the end opposite the wall of the support wing 10.

The application wings 4 and 9 and the core 7 are intended to be applied against a wall, when the support is fixed. The core 7 has at least one perforation 12 through which a screw, not shown, can be passed, for fixing the support to the wall.

As is shown in particular in FIGS. 3 to 5, the second profiled part 2 is intended, in this embodiment, to bear on the support wing 10 of the lower structure 8. This forms what the 'We will call in the following the support element of the first profiled part 1.

In the assembly position of the two profiled parts 1 and 2, these form between them a groove generally designated by the reference 13 (see Figure 4). This groove has an upper side formed by the base wing 5 of the upper structure 3 of the first profiled part 1, a lower side formed by the second profiled part 2 and a bottom, on the wall side, which is formed by the core 7 of the first profiled part 1, as well as an opening on the side opposite the bottom, through which a shelf edge 14 (see Figure 3, in phantom) can be inserted into the groove.

As can be seen in particular from FIG. 2, the second profiled part 2 is provided at its rear edge 26, that is to say on the wall side, with a flange 16 which extends vertically downwards. It further comprises two sections of approximately identical surface area, a rear section 17 very slightly inclined downwards in the opposite direction to the wall and a front section very slightly inclined upwards in the same direction. These two sections thus have, in cross section, the shape of a very largely flattened V and they are mutually connected along the edge 28 formed by this V. The front section 18 has a thickening at its edge opposite the wall downwards 19. A U-shaped end section 20 is then connected to this edge, the outer wing 15 of which forms here the free edge 21 on the lower side of the groove 13.

L'aile de support 10 de la première pièce profilée 1 illustrée sur les figures 1 à 4 présente le long de son bord arrière trois rainures successives 22 à 24.The support wing 10 of the first profiled part 1 illustrated in FIGS. 1 to 4 has along its rear edge three successive grooves 22 to 24.

The depth of these allows engagement in these grooves of the flange 16 of the second profiled part 2. The flange 16 and the grooves 22 to 24 can thus form mutual hooking means cooperating only by shape.

The distance between the groove 24 and the end opposite the wall of the support wing 10 is equal to the distance between the flange 16 and the thickening 19 of the second profiled part (see FIG. 5). The distance between the groove 23 and the end opposite the wall of the support wing 10 is equal to the distance between the flange 16 and the internal wing 25 of the end section 20 of the second profiled part (see figure 4).

The lower end of the rim 16 of the second profiled part and the lower face of its end section 20 are located in an imaginary plane P₁ (see FIG. 2). Likewise the rear edge 26 of the rear section 17 of the second profiled part 2 and the free edge 21 of its end section 20 are located in the same plane P₂, which is not crossed by any other part of the second profiled part 2. In the example illustrated, the planes P₁ and P₂ are parallel.

The bottom of the groove 22 and the end opposite the wall of the support wing 10 are in an imaginary plane P₃ (see Figure 1). The difference in height between the bottom of the groove 22 and the bottom of the groove 23 is equivalent to the difference in height between the plane P₁ and the thickness 19. The difference in height between the bottom of the groove 23 and the bottom of the groove 24 is equivalent to the difference in height between the thickening 19 and the underside of the front section 18, against this thickening. In this way, in all the spacing adjustment positions between the lower and upper sides of the groove 13, the second profiled part is parallel to itself.

As can be seen in particular from FIG. 5, apart from grooves 22 to 24, the support wing 10 of the support element has a shape which corresponds to the underside of the rear and front sections 17 and 18 of the second profiled part 2.

Avantageusement la face supérieure du bord libre 21 de la deuxième pièce profilée est située dans le même plan que la face supérieure de la section avant 18.Finally, it appears in particular from FIGS. 3 to 5 that, in each of the spacing adjustment positions provided, the front section 18 of the second profiled part 2 is located vertically on the edge 27, opposite the wall, of the upper side of the groove 13. This edge is slightly inclined substantially parallel to the front section 18 and it is located at a distance D from this section which will vary according to the chosen spacing adjustment position. Advantageously, the upper face of the free edge 21 of the second profiled part is located in the same plane as the upper face of the front section 18.

Furthermore, in each of the spacing adjustment positions, the edge 27 is at a distance d from the imaginary plane P₂ formed by the rear edge 26 and the free edge 21 of the second profiled part 2. This distance d goes it also vary depending on the spacing adjustment position chosen.

Le mode d'emploi du support d'étagère qui vient d'être décrit est le suivant :The instructions for the shelf support which has just been described are as follows:

The first profiled part 1 is fixed to a wall by screwing screws through the perforations 12 provided for this purpose in the core 7.

On engage le rebord 16 dans la rainure appropriée 22, 23 ou 24.Depending on the thickness E of the shelf 14 to be fixed, there is, before the insertion of the shelf, the second profiled part 2 on the support element formed by the lower structure 8 of the first profiled part 1, and in particular on the support wing 10 thereof. The rim 16 is engaged in the appropriate groove 22, 23 or 24.

The choice of this is made according to the thickness E of the shelf 14. In the chosen spacing adjustment position, the distance D between the edge 27 and the front section 18 must be greater than l thickness E of the tablet and that the distance d between the edge 27 and the imaginary plane P₂ is less than or equal to the thickness E. The tablet, inclined slightly downwards, can thus be introduced into the groove 13 without problem . Its front edge then strikes the rear section 17 at the edge 28. The rear section 17 will then serve as an ascending ramp. At a given moment, especially if the thickness E is slightly greater than the distance d, the introduction of the tablet will require an elastic deformation of at least one zone of at least one of the lower and upper sides of the groove 13 .

In the embodiment illustrated in FIGS. 1 to 5, this zone is formed by the end section 20 of the second profiled part 2. In fact, the upper structure 3 is shaped in a triangular manner and therefore undeformable and it is the same of the lower structure 8 forming the support element of the second profiled part 2. The rear and front sections 17 and 18 of the latter are supported on the support wing 10 of the support element and therefore do not deform either. Against by the end section 20 is a part of the second profiled part 2 which projects beyond the support element, totally or partially depending on the spacing adjustment positions chosen. This section is therefore designed to be able to flex slightly elastically downwards during the final wedging of the tablet. By its strength elastic facing upwards, it also serves to hold the tablet in place in the stuck position.

After the insertion of the shelf edge into the groove, the second profiled part 2 is therefore interposed between one face of the tablet, here the lower face, and the support element of the first profiled part.

The exemplary embodiment illustrated in FIGS. 6 to 8 is very similar to that which has just been described. The support element is here formed not only of a lower structure 8, triangular in cross section, but also of a free extension 29, upwards, of the spacer wing 11 of this structure. This extension can thus participate in the elastic deformation sought for the introduction of the tablet, simultaneously with the projecting end section of the second profiled part 2.

In the embodiment illustrated in FIGS. 9 and 10, the support element is formed not only of a lower structure 8, triangular in cross section, but also of an extension 30, outwards, of the support wing 10 of this structure. The support element thus comprises a non-deformable section and an elastically deformable section. The second profiled part 2, of very simple shape, can be supported by the support element according to two different spacing adjustment positions. In these two positions it is supported, on the one hand, on the support wing 10, that is to say the non-deformable section of the support element, and, on the other hand, on the extension 30, that is to say the elastically deformable section of the support element. The second profiled part thus forms the zone with the desired elastic deformation capacity.

In this exemplary embodiment, if the tablet is too thick for the position shown in FIG. 10, it is then possible to simply delete the second profiled part and use the first profiled part, as the only element of the support.

In the embodiment according to FIG. 11, the support element, formed by the lower structure of triangular section 8, and the second profiled part 2 are provided to be non-deformable. The area with elastic deformation capacity of the groove 13 is here formed by an upper structure 31 with a V-shaped cross section open towards the wall. This structure comprises only a base wing 32, forming the upper side of the groove 13, and an oblique wing 33, extending obliquely upwards and towards the wall from the end, opposite the wall, of the base wing 32. When the tablet is inserted, the base wing 32 can be slightly bent upwards.

It should be understood that the present invention is in no way limited to the embodiments described above and that many modifications can be made thereto without departing from its scope, defined by the claims.

Les moyens d'ajustement d'écartement seront alors prévus en haut de la gorge 13.One can for example provide that the support element is formed by the upper structure of the first profiled part, for example the structure 3 in Figure 1 or the structure 31 in Figure 11. In this case, after insertion from the edge of the shelf in the groove, the second profiled part will be interposed between the upper face of the tablet and the base wing 5 or respectively 32, of the upper structure of the first profiled piece. The spacing adjustment means will then be provided at the top of the groove 13.

One can also envisage various combinations of the features of each of the embodiments described.

It is also possible to provide a first profiled part in the form of an elongated part, the length of which will be cut off as a function of the length of the edge of the shelf to be supported. One could provide, not a second profiled part of the same length, but a second short profiled part and one or more additional profiled parts identical to this one.

It is also possible to imagine connecting the loose parts to each other in a current manner, so as to make them captive, while retaining a wide mobility allowing the described spacing adjustment.
