Definitions
- the invention relates to an operator station for an electronic signal box with a modularly constructed track button field and color vision devices for displaying overview and magnifying glass pictures of the track system of the signal box area being operated.
- the points and signals are set in the signal box area, their position and operational readiness are continuously monitored, routes are formed and closed, i.e. secured against changes. After the track is cleared, the route will be closed again.
- the interlocking brings the elements of the route, i.e. the signals and switches, into mutual dependence and thus takes over the safety and rational control of train traffic in the interlocking area.
- Conventional signal boxes provide an operating device, the track diagram signal box, which represents a replica of the track system. As a track plan interlocking it is interconnected from a series of typed relay modules according to the track plan. Each of the approx. 20 assemblies represents a switch, a signal, an intersection, etc., so that any track diagram can be reproduced.
- the switchboard signal box is operated with push buttons. Simultaneously pressing a start and a destination button automatically creates a route with all switches and signals. The route will automatically be closed again as soon as the train leaves it.
- the track button field contains only elements that serve to issue commands, namely buttons that are assigned to the track sections to be displayed in terms of position and can be queried line by line, and that the control signal transmitted from a display computer to the color viewer in addition to the basic image data for generating the overview picture, the from the lines symbolizing the track sections of the track system to be operated by the signal box, the track numbers contained therein, the signal symbols and place names, contains only the data which are used to display track vacancy and occupancy messages as well as signal states by changing colors or symbols and to display the Routes set and the train numbers are required.
- the advantage lies in the fact that the "leaning" of the track button field to the keys that are absolutely necessary for switching the route, as well as the overview picture to the keys absolutely necessary for undisturbed operation Minimum display, interlocking areas with up to 80 turnouts can be operated using a track control panel and displayed on a color display. It is therefore possible to arrange a maximum of two color viewers in 95% of the applications, whereby in normal operation the overview image is only displayed on one color viewer, while only in certain short-term operating conditions and in the event of a fault, the magnifying image of the area of interest is switched to the second color viewer.
- the status of an element is transferred to the signal box using a secure transmission system (not shown), where it is checked and doubled for transmission errors in a secure external test level 1, 2 and, as a rule, entered into both process computers 3, 4.
- the symbol to be displayed and the coordinates on the screen are assigned to the received bit pattern by the computer and output to the display device control 5, 6 belonging to each computer.
- Via a toggle switch 7, the video signal is alternately switched from the two controls 5, 6 to the screen 8 of the color viewer 9 for the magnifying glass. If both controls agree in terms of content, then a clear picture emerges. If there is no match at one or more points, a flashing occurs in the rhythm of the keying.
- a video signal is generated by the process computer 3 serving as the display computer, which generates an overview image 12 with new symbols on the screen 10 of the color viewer 11. where only all track sections are shown as lines with the associated number, without switch connections, branches etc., but in the best possible topographical analogy to the existing track system.
- This overview picture does not represent a route overview in the narrower sense, but only contains all of the messages from the signal box area that are required for the trouble-free operation. It is used for the display in connection with the operative part and enables the clear representation of a larger, remote-controlled signal box area on a screen even if the magnifying glass image of this signal box area, which had been customary up to now, would not fit on a screen due to its size.
- This overview image 12 is only used as basic information.
- the signal box system has correctly executed the command entered.
- the route is color-coded on the overview screen, the start signal points to "Free".
- the respective location of the trains is also shown in overview image 12, for example by showing letters used according to a code for the train numbers and by highlighting colored track sections.
- the information that all turnouts belonging to the route are correct and locked is not of interest in trouble-free operation, since the "free" position of the start signal also indicates the positive completion of a conventional automatic test routine.
- This information is therefore managed in the display computer 3 only for the associated magnifying glass.
- This magnifying glass image which can be called up on the screen 8 of the color viewer 9 in the event of a fault, accordingly contains all the details required for taking measures in the event of a fault or in certain operating cases.
- a track button field 13 with new symbols is used to enter the commands.
- the application-neutral basic version has, for example, 16 x 24 key positions arranged in a grid.
- the key board is equipped with track buttons 14 or blind covers 15 with track symbols, such that a There is a schematic image of the track system to be operated.
- the track buttons 14 are each arranged in the course of the symbol of that section of the route which can be integrated into a route by their actuation, so that one can speak of a geographical arrangement of the track buttons 14 in the track diagram.
- the track buttons 14 bear the number of the track section assigned to them and are advantageously designed in symbol colors.
- the numbers of the track buttons 14 are identical to the numbers of the lines symbolizing the track sections of the overview image 12 generated on the screen 10 of the color viewer 11.
- keys with a safety function or other command keys can also be arranged, such as keys 16 for calling up a magnifying glass on the screen 8 provided for this purpose of the color display device 9.
- These keys 16 are advantageously arranged in the vicinity of those track diagram areas which they are to call up as a magnifying glass picture in order to establish the geographical reference here as well.
- a hex word is output via a port of a processor 17 which is decoded by the decoders 18 as an index for the lines of the track key field, i.e. is interpreted as "Y coordinate".
- the decoders 18 set the output 19 corresponding to the addressing to high potential.
- the receiver modules 20 are then activated in sequence via a second port of the processor 17. If a track button 14 is pressed in the area of a receiver module 20, a signal is sent from its output to the processor 17, the numerical value of which can be interpreted geometrically as an “X coordinate”. In this case, the processor 17 sets up and sends the command telegram interpreting the queried coordinates.
- the telegram leaves the track button field 13 via the serial interface of the processor 17 and is fed, advantageously with the interposition of an optocoupler 21, to an operating peripheral adapter module 22. As long as a key is still pressed, the track button field 13 remains blocked for any further key actuation.

Abstract
Description
The invention relates to an operator station for an electronic signal box with a modularly constructed track button field and color vision devices for displaying overview and magnifying glass pictures of the track system of the signal box area being operated.
In the signal boxes, the points and signals are set in the signal box area, their position and operational readiness are continuously monitored, routes are formed and closed, i.e. secured against changes. After the track is cleared, the route will be closed again. The interlocking brings the elements of the route, i.e. the signals and switches, into mutual dependence and thus takes over the safety and rational control of train traffic in the interlocking area.
Conventional signal boxes provide an operating device, the track diagram signal box, which represents a replica of the track system. As a track plan interlocking it is interconnected from a series of typed relay modules according to the track plan. Each of the approx. 20 assemblies represents a switch, a signal, an intersection, etc., so that any track diagram can be reproduced. The switchboard signal box is operated with push buttons. Simultaneously pressing a start and a destination button automatically creates a route with all switches and signals. The route will automatically be closed again as soon as the train leaves it.
The latest state of the art knows so-called computer signal boxes equipped with microprocessors. In order to achieve the same or better functional reliability than with relay signal boxes, electronic circuits have been developed that also meet the fail-safe principle. Through the use of process computers, a higher degree of automation of the interlocking functions was achieved and remote control operation was essential expanded. The relatively large message boards and control desks could be replaced by color viewers and numeric keypads. Since conventional control desks have a large variety of display elements to be arranged in addition to the track symbols, such as turnout position and turnout lock indicators, track numbers, signal symbols etc., they have to be carried out over a fairly large area and are therefore very confusing for a larger interlocking area. The same applies to the screen display, but because of the limited screen area in larger interlocking areas, several color display devices are required to display the entire overview picture. From a certain system size, this results in an ergonomically unfavorable design of the operator station. The simultaneous display of the entire amount of information accumulating in an interlocking therefore leads to overloading of the operating personnel with premature fatigue and the resulting longer reaction times.
This deficiency is avoided according to the invention in that the track button field contains only elements that serve to issue commands, namely buttons that are assigned to the track sections to be displayed in terms of position and can be queried line by line, and that the control signal transmitted from a display computer to the color viewer in addition to the basic image data for generating the overview picture, the from the lines symbolizing the track sections of the track system to be operated by the signal box, the track numbers contained therein, the signal symbols and place names, contains only the data which are used to display track vacancy and occupancy messages as well as signal states by changing colors or symbols and to display the Routes set and the train numbers are required.
The advantage lies in the fact that the "leaning" of the track button field to the keys that are absolutely necessary for switching the route, as well as the overview picture to the keys absolutely necessary for undisturbed operation Minimum display, interlocking areas with up to 80 turnouts can be operated using a track control panel and displayed on a color display. It is therefore possible to arrange a maximum of two color viewers in 95% of the applications, whereby in normal operation the overview image is only displayed on one color viewer, while only in certain short-term operating conditions and in the event of a fault, the magnifying image of the area of interest is switched to the second color viewer.

The status of an element (e.g. track free) is transferred to the signal box using a secure transmission system (not shown), where it is checked and doubled for transmission errors in a secure external test level 1, 2 and, as a rule, entered into both process computers 3, 4. The symbol to be displayed and the coordinates on the screen are assigned to the received bit pattern by the computer and output to the display device control 5, 6 belonging to each computer. Via a toggle switch 7, the video signal is alternately switched from the two controls 5, 6 to the
A video signal is generated by the process computer 3 serving as the display computer, which generates an
Solange noch eine Taste gedrückt ist, bleibt das Gleistastenfeld 13 für jede weitere Tastenbetätigung gesperrt.2, a hex word is output via a port of a processor 17 which is decoded by the
