Abstract
Description
The invention relates to separators for light and / or sediments with a separator housing which has an upper maintenance and control opening and a maintenance and control shaft connected to it at the top.
The new DIN 4034 (IX / 90, Part 1) with the designation "Shafts made of prefabricated concrete and reinforced concrete parts for underground sewers and pipes" prescribes a new type of seal for the joints between the shaft components, which is to replace the old mortar joint.
Prefabricated manhole components made of concrete and reinforced concrete have been used in sewer construction for decades. Your Quality requirements for watertightness, corrosion resistance and abrasion resistance are far above the values required in the applicable standards. The new sleeve connection with a permanently elastic mechanical seal in accordance with DIN 4034 now also offers a permanently flexible sealing connection that allows a large lateral offset and enormous inclined positions. This type of seal continues from the shaft floor over the shaft cone up to the shaft cover and thus offers a closed system against the penetration of harmful liquids into the ground.
A problem of sealing is not dealt with in this standard. Separators that are prefabricated in the factory from cast iron, concrete or reinforced concrete and must be installed underground always have one or more maintenance shafts (DE-PS 26 10 773). In order to compensate for the difference in diameter between the separator and the maintenance shaft, transition plates to the other shaft diameter are provided for separators with a high nominal capacity (EP-A-O 046 277). Both a thin layer of mortar is placed in the joint under the transition plate and in the joint under the lowest shaft ring, which only results in a snug fit.
The task now is to make the joints between the shaft and the transition plate and the separator tight, so that in the event of a build-up in the separator in particular the light liquids that have been creamed up cannot get into the subsoil through this joint.
The upper ones are particularly useful for separators of small nominal size In addition, maintenance openings are usually dimensioned so small that the shafts, which have the same dimensions as the inspection opening, cannot be walked on and the separators cannot therefore be professionally serviced. The task of sealing these connection points permanently and effectively and at the same time ensuring that they can be walked on is achieved according to the invention in that the transition plate is designed to jump from the small clear width of the inspection opening to the larger diameter of the accessible shaft and both against the separator housing and is sealed against the shaft by permanently elastic seals and is supported with outer sections of its underside on surface sections of the separator housing lying outside the control opening. The seals and the connection points are preferably given a new shape in accordance with DIN 4034. The tip end of the sleeve connection receiving the sealing ring is preferably integrally formed on the separator. In this way, the sealing ring can be applied to the lower component in a clearly visible manner and protected against damage and soiling. In addition, dirt remains during installation. do not lie on the sealing ring. The upper component is guided correctly when it is put on without lateral offset. By supporting the transition plate on outer surface parts of the separator housing, traffic loads are better transmitted into the ground.
Another possibility of forming a support for the transition plate on the top of the separator housing is, according to one design idea, to surround a separator housing made of steel, cast iron, stainless steel or plastic, which forms the inner formwork, from which the pointed part of the sealing joint protrudes at the top . Here too, sections of the Concrete jacket the support for the outer sections of the transition plate. The inner casing contains corresponding concrete anchors on the outside for permanent connection to the concrete.
The round transition plate is preferably provided with an eccentrically arranged round control opening. By turning the transition plate, the shaft can be moved on all sides to adapt it to a curb or paving.

The
The separator according to Fig. 2 differs from that according to Fig. 1 in that the e.g. cast iron existing separator housing 1 'is surrounded by a
