Abstract

A ski brake (1) has two wire arms (7) pivotally mounted in a base plate (2). Said arms can be brought into their operating position by depressing an actuating pedal (5) which pivots against the force of an erecting spring (6). The end sections (7d) of the wire arms (7) are lodged in the actuating pedal (5) and interconnected by a connecting spring (8) to which a rigid intermediate member (9) is hinged. A projection (9b) of the intermediate member (9) abuts on a bearing surface (2f) of the base plate (2). To ensure reliable operation even under difficult conditions, and to prevent the wire arms (7) from catching on the top or on the side edges of the ski (10), a resilient support is provided between the region of the base plate (2) which carries the bearing surface (2f) and the transverse ridge (9k) of the intermediate member (9).

Description

The invention relates to a ski brake. Such a ski brake is known, for example, from WO 88/09197, which represents prior art in accordance with Art 54 (3) EPU.

In this ski brake, a rigid intermediate link is articulated on the angled end sections of two multi-angled wire brake arms, which have a cylindrical sleeve and an extension adjoining this, which extension in the ready position of the ski brake on a support surface of the base plate against the force of the angled end sections the connecting spring connecting the wire brake arms is supported.

This ski brake has already proven itself, but it has been shown that certain unfavorable circumstances can hinder the pivoting movement of the brake arms from the ready position to the braking position. For example, the brake arms may be bent due to the rough operation or it is possible that the width of the skis is larger than usual. Then it can happen that at least one brake arm gets stuck on the side edge of the ski and the braking effect is reduced or switched off.

The invention has set itself the goal of improving this known ski brake in such a way that the pivoting of the brake arms into the ready position takes place reliably even under unfavorable conditions.

This object is achieved by the features of claim 1, wherein the ski brake has two multi-angled wire brake arms which are pivotally mounted in a base plate, protrude with their free ends under the tread of the ski in the braking position and one of the ski boots in the standby position against the force of at least one actuating pedal, which is designed as a leg spring and is depressed on the upper side of the ski and at the same time pivoted with the free ends in the direction of the longitudinal axis of the ski, the in Actuator pedal housed, angled, facing end portions of the wire brake arms are connected to each other by a connecting spring, wherein a rigid intermediate link is articulated on the angled end portions of the wire brake arms housed in the actuation pedal, which has a cylindrical sleeve and an adjoining extension, the latter in the The ready position of the ski brake is supported on at least one support surface of the base plate against the force of the connecting spring, and between the section of the base plate that supports the support surface and a transverse web of the intermediate member, a support that is elastically flexible in the longitudinal direction is provided, and the elastic support is provided by an elastically yielding design either the base plate or the intermediate link is realized. This ensures that the wire brake arms perform the necessary outward movement even under difficult conditions during the swiveling-up movement from the ready position into the braking position can, which reliably prevents the wire brake arms from getting caught on the sides of the ski.

-federn.Characterized in that, according to claim 2, the base plate in its section supporting the support surface has a continuous groove-shaped clearance extending approximately over the entire width of the support surface, arranged approximately parallel to it, the support surface can retract or spring back if necessary.

The design according to the characterizing features of claim 3 enables the designer to choose the spring action as required.

In a solution according to the characterizing parts of claim 4, the sprung support is realized in the intermediate member. This can be achieved through a recess. This also simplifies the construction of the base plate.

Further advantages, features and details of the invention will now be explained in more detail with reference to the drawing, which shows an embodiment of the ski brake according to the invention. 1 is a vertical longitudinal central section through the ski brake in the braking position, FIGS. 2 and 3 show a detail from FIG. 1 and FIG. 4 the top plate of the ski brake.

The ski brake shown in FIGS. 1 to 4 is designated 1 in its entirety. It has a base plate 2 with a base 2a, which is fastened to a ski 10, for example by means of only indicated screws 3. A part of a mounting plate 11 can also be seen in FIG. 1, which serves as a holding element for a ski binding part (not shown here) and which is screwed to the ski 10 together with the base 2a of the ski brake 1. At the base 2a are upwardly projecting strip-shaped side parts 2b which run in the longitudinal direction of the ski brake 1. In the bores of the two side parts 2b of the base plate 2, a transverse axis 4 is fastened, on the one hand an actuating pedal 5 and on the other hand two as leg springs 6 trained springs are stored. The operating pedal 5 has a stop 5a and two laterally bent tabs 5b.

At a distance from the transverse axis 4, funnel-shaped transverse bores 2c are recessed in the side parts 2b of the base plate 2, in which two wire brake arms 7, shown in dash-dotted lines in the drawing, are pivotably mounted with their transverse sections 7b. Each wire brake arm 7 has a section located outside of the base plate 2, which has a plastic coating, which is only indicated in the drawing and serves as a brake paddle, and is referred to hereinafter as the brake mandrel 7a, the section 7b already mentioned, a section 7c adjoining this, which is approximately runs parallel to section 7a, and an end section 7d connected at an obtuse angle to section 7c. The end sections 7d of the two wire brake arms 7 are directed towards one another and connected to one another by a connecting spring 8. The end sections 7d of the wire brake arms are mounted in the actuating pedal 5 in a known and therefore not described manner.

An intermediate member 9 is placed on the connecting spring 8, which is designed here as a helical spring, and has a cylindrical sleeve 9a with an extension 9b adjoining it. The extension 9b is divided into a first section 9g facing the sleeve 9a and a section 9h adjoining it, the second section 9h being angled with respect to the first section 9g. The extension 9b of the intermediate member 9 is approximately U-shaped in plan view, the legs of the U-s being formed by the second section 9h. The free ends of the legs have inward projections 9i.

On the base plate 2 is a section extending in the vertical longitudinal center plane, directed away from the transverse axis 4 and designed as a bearing block 2g Cross-section is approximately I-shaped. Two grooves 2h of the bearing block 2g serve to guide the projections 9i of the intermediate member 9. A support surface 2f is formed on the end face of the bearing block 2g. A groove-shaped relief 2i is formed on the underside of the bearing block 2g. The longitudinal center plane of the groove-shaped exemption 2i runs approximately parallel to the support surface 2f. The groove-shaped relief 2i extends over the entire width of the bearing block 2g and in the height direction at least up to the upper end of the support surface 2f, preferably beyond. The bearing block 2g is designed so as to be slidable relative to the upper side of the ski 10, at least in the area carrying the support surface 2f.

In Figure 1, the ski brake 1 is shown in its braking position. The projections 9i of the intermediate member 9 are located at a distance from the ski surface in the upper section of the groove-shaped relief 2i.

If, for example, pressure is exerted on the actuation pedal 5 by a ski boot and this is pivoted down as a result, the second section 9h of the extension 9d moves in the direction of the top of the ski. At the same time, the brake mandrels 7a move outwards and upwards. When the actuation pedal 5 is depressed further, a second section 9h of the extension 9b, which is designed as a crosspiece 9k of the U-shaped portion, comes to bear against the support surface 2f of the base plate 2. The free end region of the second section 9h of the extension 9b migrates upward. At the same time, the brake mandrels 7a perform an inward movement toward the longitudinal axis of the ski. The interaction of the intermediate member 9 with the bearing block 2g and in particular with the support surface 2f enables precise control of the movement sequence. However, it can happen that certain external conditions, such as slightly bent brake pins or skis that are too wide, make it necessary to deviate from this quasi "preprogrammed" sequence of movements in order to ensure the overall function of the ski brake. For this purpose, the bearing block 2g of the base plate 2 can be slightly deformed in the region of the groove-shaped relief 2i by the action of the intermediate member 9. This situation is shown in Figures 2 and 3. The support surface 2f backs off in the direction of the transverse axis 4. This retraction of the support surface 2f gives the intermediate member 9 greater freedom of movement, which also increases the mobility of the wire brake arms 7. As a result, the setting up of the actuation pedal 5 and the movement of the wire brake arms 7 from the ready position into the braking position can take place reliably in any case.

According to a variant, not shown, it is provided to arrange two or more narrow grooves parallel to one another instead of a single groove-shaped exemption.

It is also possible to implement the sprung support in the intermediate link. For this purpose, either the support area of the crossbar can be made of a suitable elastic material or it is also possible to provide an elongated cutout in the intermediate member following and parallel to the crossbar. In both cases, the base plate can then be designed in a simplified manner without a groove-shaped exemption.

However, it would also be possible to implement the elastic support by combining the above-mentioned solutions both on the bearing block and on the intermediate link. The variants just described should be understandable to the average specialist even without a drawing.
