Description

The invention relates to a new elongated one-piece plastic packaging box.

Although in the following description, most often, the box according to the invention is described in its application in packaging saw blades, it is not limited to this preferred embodiment. It may be suitable for the packaging of any elongated object or any other object placed for example on a bottom of plastic foam.

It is well known to package hand saw blades in packages in elongated metal boxes. Although very widespread and for a long time, this solution is not satisfactory, because on the one hand, the box is heavy and, on the other hand and above all, it is expensive.

In document US-A-2 307 087, a metal can for tablets has been described, the closure system of which consists of protuberances placed alternately, respectively on the bottom and on the lid, allowing the lid to be released by pressing on a median protuberance carried by the bottom, which has the effect of releasing the clipped protuberances carried by the cover.

The invention overcomes these drawbacks. It is aimed at an elongated packaging box of the type in question which is lighter, more economical, more attractive, of convenient reuse and above all easy to fill in an automated manner.

The elongated one-piece plastic packaging box according to the invention consists of a cover and a bottom, articulated around a longitudinal hinge and defining between them a line for closing the cover on the bottom comprising means closing, also from molding, constituted by male parts cooperating by clipping with female parts allowing, under the effect of a lateral pressure exerted on a bearing surface arranged in the vicinity of the female part of the closing means, release the bottom of the cover.

According to the invention, this box comprises two closing means spaced along the closing line, arranged respectively:
. the first, on the cover and in the vicinity of a side face defining the top of the box,
. the second, on the bottom and in the vicinity of the opposite lateral face defining the bottom of the box.

In other words, the invention relates to a one-piece plastic packaging box which has two closing means arranged along the closing line, respectively one on the cover, the other on the bottom, associated with support zones, so that by a simple lateral pressure exerted simultaneously by each of the two hands on each of these two support zones, it is possible to release said closing means to release the bottom cover and thus open the box.

Advantageously, in practice, the bearing surface of the first closure means is disposed on the bottom and in the vicinity of the top of the box, while the second bearing surface is disposed on the cover and in the vicinity of the bottom of the box. .

The manner in which the invention can be embodied and the advantages which result therefrom will emerge more clearly from the embodiment which follows, intended for the packaging of hand saw blades packed in packs of ten (two rows of five packs each) and attached figures.

The packaging box according to the invention designated by the general reference (1) is made of injected plastic material, inexpensive, resistant over time, rigid enough to allow suspension, such as in particular polypropylene, or even polyethylene.

This one-piece box (1) essentially comprises, directly from molding, a cover (2) and a bottom (3), connected by a hinge (4), defining a closing (or opening) line (20) and two side walls defining the top (40) and the bottom (41).

The bottom (3) (see FIGS. 2 and 5) has, on an appreciable part of its length, a hollow recess (5) whose walls (6,7) are parallel to the longitudinal walls (8,9) of the box. The general shape of the box (1) and the shape of this recess (5) are substantially rectangular and elongated. Thickness wedges (10,11) connect the walls (6,7) to the walls (8,9), to also promote the stiffening of the assembly.

As already said, the references (40) and (41) designate the side walls forming the top (40) and the bottom (41) of the box (1), respectively of the cover (2) and the bottom (3).

The cover (2) (Figures 2 and 3) has two parallel grooves, respectively (12,13) also parallel to the walls (8,9), the external walls (14,15) of which are intended to cooperate with the internal walls (6,7) of the recess (5) of the bottom (3), to allow the stacking of several boxes (1) on top of each other.

In known manner, the cover (2) folds over the bottom (3) around the longitudinal hinge (4) molded, to form a closure line (20) along which there are the characteristic closure means.

These closing means, designated by the general references (21,22) (see Figures 1,4 and 6), essentially consist of a molded clip each having a male part (23,23 ′) coming to engage in a corresponding female part (24.24 ′). Each clipped closure means (21,22), and more precisely each female part (24,24 ′) adjoins and cooperates with a surface of ap pui respectively (25,26) (see Figure 7), formed of streaks, parallel to each other and parallel to the closure line (20).

According to an essential characteristic of the invention, the first closure means (21) is placed on the cover (2) in the vicinity of the side wall of the box defining the top (40), while the second closure means (22 ) is placed on the bottom (3) and in the vicinity of the opposite side wall defining the bottom (41). The first support zone (25) which cooperates with the first closing means (21), is placed in turn close to the female part (24) of (21) but on the bottom (3), while the second support surface (26) is placed near the other female part (24 ′) of the corresponding closure (22), but on the cover (2).

In other words, the two closure means (21,22) with male (23,23 ′) and female (24,24 ′) clips are alternately spaced along the closure line (20), the first (21) is arranged towards the top of the box (1), while the second (22) is arranged towards the bottom; on the other hand, the characteristic support zones (25,26) associated with the closure clips (21,22) are arranged one on the bottom (2), the other on the cover (3).

So, when the operator wants to open the closed box (1), he just has to place it vertically in his two hands, respectively the bottom in the right hand, the top in the left hand, taking care to direct the closing line (20) upwards, that is to say towards it. It then suffices to press with the thumb of the right hand on the support surface (26) and with the thumb of the left hand on the support surface (25). Thanks to the elasticity of the plastic, com combined with the rigidity of the assembly, a simple twist of the wrists makes it possible to release the male (23.23 ′) and female (24.24 ′) notches clipped (23.24) from the closure means (21.22), to release the cover (2) from the bottom (3) containing the goods.

In an advantageous variant, the top of the box (1) has on the top (40) an opening (30) also molded, intended to form a grip handle for transport, as well as a hanging handle for hanging the box on a display stand.

In another variant, the cover (2) (see FIGS. 1 and 2) has, between the opening (30) and the grooves (12, 13), a zone (31) forming a location for receiving any identification, such as 'a label.

The elongated monobloc packaging box in accordance with the invention has many advantages compared to the solutions used to date, in particular compared to metal boxes for packaging hand saw blades. We can cite :
- lightness, good durability and simplicity;
- ease of transporting heavy products;
- ease of automatic packaging;
- the possibility of being reusable.

In this way, these boxes can be used successfully for the packaging of all elongated products, in particular hand saw blades.

1 / elongated packaging box (1), monobloc made of plastic, consisting of a cover (2) and a bottom (3), articulated around a longitudinal hinge (4), and defining between them a line ( 20) closing (or opening), arranged on the longitudinal side opposite to that comprising the hinge (4), said closing line (20) comprising closing means, coming from molding, constituted by male parts (23 , 23 ′) cooperating by clipping with corresponding female parts (24,24 ′), allowing, under the effect of a pressure exerted on a bearing surface (25,26) arranged in the vicinity of the female part (24 , 24 ′), to release the cover (2) from the bottom (3), characterized in that the box (1) comprises two closing means, spaced along the closing line (20), arranged respectively:
. the first (21) on the cover (2) and in the vicinity of a side face (40) defining the top of the box (1);
