Lifting and tipping devices with coupling claws of the preferred type are known, for example, from EP-OS 235 784, DE-GMS 85 19 096 and DE-OS 36 39 861. These coupling claws interact with approximately complementary receiving pockets for refuse containers and have proven themselves as self-centering receiving members.
The object of the invention is to provide a transport and / or handling device of the type specified at the outset with which containers of all types, in particular large containers, can be easily handled, loaded and transported.
According to the invention, this object is achieved in a transport and / or handling device of the generic type in that two coupling claws are arranged on a crossmember of a lifting carriage, that the crossmember carrying the coupling claw is guided in a longitudinally displaceable manner in vertical guides of the lifting carriage and by a pressure medium piston-cylinder. Unit is movable and that the lifting carriage is provided in its lower region below the cross member with at least one fork or plate reaching under the bottom of the container and the like in guides of the vertical support of the mast. can be moved by a drive, for example a hydraulic piston-cylinder unit. The device according to the invention can be coupled in a simple manner to a container by retracting the forks or the support plate under the bottom of the container and then lifting the cross member in such a way that the coupling claw comes into coupling engagement with the complementary receiving pocket of the container and the forks or support plate lie under the bottom of the container for support.
The mast can be the mast of a forklift or other industrial truck. The forklift trucks or industrial trucks can be front or side loading stacking vehicles. With these, for example, containers can also be used in container shelves. The mast can also be permanently installed, for example, at a container handling center. Furthermore, the mast can also be arranged pivotably so that the container coupled to the lifting carriage can also be tilted for the purpose of emptying it.
A container that can be transported and handled by the transport and handling device according to the invention is provided with two receiving pockets arranged on one side at a distance from each other below the stiffened upper edge of the container, complementary to the coupling claws and open at the bottom, and is characterized according to the invention in that at least one carrier running parallel to one side of the container is attached below its bottom, the distance of which from the container side wall corresponds to the length of the fork or plate. A container adapted in this way can be coupled in a particularly simple manner to the transport and / or handling device according to the invention in that the forks or the support plate are inserted under the container until they abut the carrier, and then in the carriage of the Cross member is extended with the clutch claws in such a way that the clutch claws engage in the receiving pockets.
The fork tines or support plate expediently merge into a foot region under a curvature, the contour of which roughly corresponds to the curved region connecting a side wall to the bottom of the container. This adaptation of the forks or plate to the shape of the container favors the form-fitting coupling of the container to the transport and / or handling device.
According to another embodiment, the task or the like in a transport and / or handling device for containers. with several coupling claws, preferably approximately triangular coupling claws, each of which has a substantially flat rear side and a convexly spherically curved front side, which in cross section converges at an acute angle to the rear side formed by the legs of the triangle, according to the invention solved in that a supporting frame on opposite spars is provided with at least one each by a lever, the coupling claw at its lower free end wearing. Such a transport and / or handling device can be used, for example, as loading equipment for so-called spreaders, as are known, for example, from DE-OS 33 15 889. The support frame, which is expediently provided in its four corners with eyelets for attaching suspension cables or suspension chains, can be provided on opposite sides with one or two coupling claw-carrying levers.
With the support frame according to the invention, containers can be easily picked up and transferred to container transfer stations, for example for sea or rail traffic, or to transshipment points for waste containers.
In order to be able to reach behind the complementary receiving pockets of the containers in a simple manner with the coupling claws, the levers are preferably designed to be pivotable so that they can be guided past the receiving pockets without hindrance when the supporting frame is lowered and can then be pivoted into a position from which they can be lifted when lifting the Grip the support frame in the receiving pockets.
Accordingly, the containers can be provided on opposite sides with one or two receiving pockets below their stiffening upper edge.
