Abstract
Description
The invention relates to a camouflage net for camouflaging military vehicles and devices with a support net and a leaf cut associated therewith.
Camouflage nets, like today's plastic camouflage nets, have the task of protecting military equipment from being discovered. In addition to the optical adaptation to the environment, it is also important to achieve a camouflage effect in the infrared range. The task of a camouflage network therefore includes a multispectral adaptation to the vegetation and soil conditions in the terrain and to the background of possibly built-up areas. In addition, it would be desirable if the camouflage nets also had a camouflage effect against radar detection, but the camouflage nets which have become known so far are only able to achieve optical camouflage and camouflage in the near infrared range.
The object of the invention is therefore to provide a camouflage network that has a broadband camouflage effect in the infrared range, in the radar range and in the optical range and that also causes camouflage both in the terrain and in an urban environment. This object is achieved according to the invention by the characterizing features of claim 1.
Further developments of the invention can be found in claims 2-9.
The support network according to the invention is constructed as a double network from two components. For the camouflage net, a closely knit net is used, which consists either of polyester or a mixed yarn of defined electrical resistance, such as steel fibers. The mesh can reach sizes of up to 5 mm and it is also advisable to provide several evenly distributed larger holes in the support net, which can be attached serve the leaf cut. Due to the filigree structure of the support network and the fibers distributed in the knitted fabric of the support network, for example steel fibrils, a radar lossy network results which has low radar reflectivity and transmission. The knitted fabric of the support network can also be characterized by incoporated loss substances which are electrically and / or magnetically active. The second component is a polyamis or polyester fabric or a fabric film, the density of which is determined by the number of threads per cm in the warp and weft directions. The fabric is stamped with a foliage cut and then knotted with the support net. The surface of the fabric film can be nubbed or not.
The tissue for the leaf cut can be lossless or lossy, a lossy design being able to be implemented by inserted electrically conductive fibers or fibers of defined conductivity. However, it is also possible to coat the fabric with electrical and / or magnetic waste materials. This results in the possibility of building up lossy layers, namely by sheathing conductive or non-conductive fibers with lossy substance. Such a type of fabric may only be coated with such a concentration of waste material that the intensity of the primary reflex of the incident wave (measured on the non-punched tissue) is matched to the primary reflex of the knitted fabric serving as a support net. This results in a two-stage camouflage structure in the radar area.
Due to the combination of non-closed planar structures, a reducing structure is created for the infrared signature of the camouflaging object, the space between the fabric film and the knitted fabric permitting rear ventilation. This additionally prevents heat build-up and thus heating the camouflage network, which has a disadvantageous effect on infrared locatability.
In the optical area, specifically for camouflage in the field, the surface geometry is used for tissue punching. A special form of punching enables a signature reduction, which can be increased by a special color coating. With an urban background, camouflage can be achieved if the support net is placed outside. A special coloring of the Tragneztes then ensures with the flat structure of the Gewrikes a sufficient camouflage when used in an urban environment.
