Das Spannrad der Spanneinrichtung ist ebenfalls oberhalb der sich überlappenden Bandenden des Umreifungsbandes angeordnet, so daß zunächst das Umreifungsband um das Packstück gespannt werden kann. Nach dem Spannen des Umreifungsbandes wird die Verschlußeinrichtung zum Verbinden der sich überlappenden Enden des Umreifungsstahlbandes betätigt. Als Verschluß werden dabei drei in Längsrichtung des Umreifungsbandes hintereinanderliegende Winkeleinschnittpaare in die sich überlappenden Bandenden des Umreifungsbandes eingebracht. Die miteinander in Wirkverbindung tretenden Stanzwerkzeuge weisen dabei jeweils in Einschnittrichtung bogenförmig verlaufende Schnittkanten auf, so daß beim Einbringen der Winkeleinschnittpaare jeweils die zwischen jedem Winkeleinschnittpaar liegenden mittleren Stege nach oben aus der Bandebene und die durch die Winkeleinschnittpaare gebildeten seitlichen Stege nach unten aus der Bandebene herausgewölbt werden. Nach dem Abschneiden des überschüssigen, zur Vorratsrolle führenden Umreifungsbandes wird dann die Spanneinrichtung gelöst, und die sich überlappenden Bandenden verschieben sich etwas gegeneinander, so daß die durch die Winkeleinschnitte gebildeten vorspringenden Ecken des oben liegenden Bandendes und des unten liegenden Bandendes sich hintergreifen und verhaken.In this strap strapping device known from GB-A-20 82 977, the strapping strap is to be placed around the package and then the strap strapping device is pushed onto the overlapping strap ends. Zum Einbringen eines Winkeleinschnittpaares in die sich überlappenden Bandenden ist an dem die Stanzbewegung ausführenden oberen Stanzwerkzeug eine Kraft aufzubringen, die jedoch über die gesamte Einschneidbewegung nicht gleich groß ist. Die größte Kraft ist zu Beginn des Einschneidens eines Einschnittpaares erforderlich, da dann die flaschen Rücken der in Einschnittrichtung bogenförmig verlaufenden Schnittkanten zugleich über eine größere Länge in die sich überlappenden Bandenden einzubringen sind. Bei der weiteren Einschnittbewegung eines jeden Einschnittpaares erfolgt dann ein einfaches Scheren, wozu weniger Kraft erforderlich ist. Damit beim Einbringen von drei Einschnittpaaren, die in Umfangsrichtung des Umreifungsbandes hintereinander liegen, die Höchstwerte der erforderlichen Kräfte nicht zusammenfallen, ist bei der bekannten Bandumreifungsvorrichtung, das die Stanzbewegung ausführende obere Stanzwerkzeug an einem Schwenkhebel angeordnet, wobei die Schwenkachse des Schwenkhebels quer zur Bandrichtung verläuft und mindestens angenähert in der Wirkebene der Werkzeugteile angeordnet ist und zwar an der der Spanneinrichtung abgekehrten Seite der Stanzwerkzeuge. Dadurch wird erreicht, daß beim Einbringen der Winkeleinschnittpaare zunächst mit dem Einschneiden des Winkeleinschnittpaares begonnen wird, welches der Schwenkachse des schwenkbaren oberen Stanzwerkzeuges am nächsten liegt. Nach einem teilweisen Einschneiden des ersten Einschnittpaares wird mit dem Einschneiden des zweiten Einschnittpaares begonnen. Nach einem teilweisen Einschneiden des zweiten Einschnittpaares wird mit dem Einschneiden des dritten Einschnittpaares begonnen. Bis zum Ende der Schwenkbewegung des schwenkbar gelagerten oberen Stanzwerkzeuges wird dann jedoch an allen Einschnittpaaren weiter geschnitten, so daß auch hierzu eine verhältnismäßig große Kraft erforderlich ist. Hinzu kommt auch noch, daß kurz vor Beendigung der Schwenkbewegung des schwenkbar gelagerten oberen Stanzwerkzeuges ein an dem schwenkbar gelagerten oberen Stanzwerkzeug angebrachtes Kerbmesser wirksam wird. Das Kerbmesser muß sich dabei in das oben liegende Bandende einpressen, da das darunter liegende Bandende von der die sich überlappenden Bandenden untergreifenden Grundplatte der Bandumreifungsvorrichtung abgestützt wird. Für dieses Abkerben ist kurz vor Beendigung der Stanzbewegung nochmals eine zusätzliche große Kraft erforderlich. Um diese großen Kräfte aufbringen zu können, muß das obere Stanzwerkzeug mit einem verhältnismäßig langen Betätigungshebel betätigt werden. Durch die Anordnung des oberen Stanzwerkzeuges an einem Schwenkhebel, dessen Schwenkachse quer zur Bandrichtung verläuft und mindestens angenähert in der Winkelebene der Werkzeugteile angeordnet ist, ergibt sich zwangsläufig auch noch der Nachteil, daß die Stanzbewegung des oberen Stanzwerkzeuges in einem festen Anschlag begrenzt werden muß, damit sichergestellt ist, daß alle Einschnittpaare gleich tief und gleich lang ausgebildet werden, um die Zugbelastung auf alle Einschnitte gleichmäßig zu verteilen. Durch das weitere Einbringen der Einschnitte wird jedoch die im Umreifungsband herrschende Bandspannung bereits etwas von den Einschnitten und den in den Einschnitten hineinragenden Stanzwerkzeuge aufgenommen, so daß die Spanneinrichtung nicht mehr die gesamte Bandspannung aufnehmen muß. Die auf der Zeichnung dargestellte Bandumreifungsvorrichtung besteht aus einem Gehäuse 10 mit Handgriff 15 und mit einer Grundplatte 11 . Zu diesem Aufschieben der Bandumreifungsvorrichtung auf die sich überlappenden Bandenden ist eine am Gehäuse 10 schwenkbar gelagerte Spanneinrichtung 14 mit dem Hebel 17 durch Schwenken entgegen der Spannrichtung anzuheben, so daß das Spannrad 16 der Spanneinrichtung von der Grundplatte 11 frei kommt und das Einführen der sich überlappenden Bandenden 13 des Umreifungsbandes in den Aufnahmeschlitz 12 ermöglicht. Nach dem Aufsetzen der Bandumreifungsvorrichtung auf die sich überlappenden Bandenden 13 ist der Hebel 17 der Spanneinrichtung 14 loszulassen, so daß die Spanneinrichtung 14 unter der Wirkung eines nicht näher dargestellten Kraftspeichers ihre Wirkstellung einnimmt, in der das Spannrad 16 der Spanneinrichtung 14 kraftschlüssig gegen die Oberseite der sich überlappenden Bandenden 13 anlegt. Durch Drehen des Spannrades 16 mit dem Betätigungshebel 17 ist dann das Umreifungsband um das nicht näher dargestellte Packstück zu spannen. Die Arbeitsfläche 22 des oberen Stanzwerkzeuges 21 ist dabei in einem solchen Abstand zur Arbeitsfläche 29 des unteren Stanzwerkzeuges 20 angeordnet, daß die sich überlappenden Bandenden zwischen die Stanzwerkzeuge 20 und 21 einführbar und nach Beendigung des Umreifungsvorganges ein Abziehen der Bandumreifungsvorrichtung von dem Umreifungsband möglich ist. Durch Betätigung des Betätigungshebels 26, der in den Fig. 2 bis 7 nicht näher dargestellt ist, wird die Welle 24 und damit auch der Exzenter 25 gedreht, wodurch das obere Stanzwerkzeug 21 eine Verschiebebewegung durchführt und dabei jedoch mit dem seitlichen Ansatz 27 in der Nut 28 des Gehäuses 10 geführt ist. In den Fig. 2 bis 7 ist der seitliche Ansatz 27 als zylindrischer Zapfen dargestellt, wobei die Längsmittellinie des zylindrischen Zapfens 27 die Schwenkachse 3o für das obere Stanzwerkzeug 21 bei dessen Bewegung bildet. Wie aus der Fig. 1 ersichtlich, kann der zylindrische seitliche Ansatz 27 des oberen Stanzwerkzeuges 21 auch in eine Bohrung 31 eines in der Nut 28 geführten Gleitsteines 32 eingreifen. Die mit dem unteren Stanzwerkzeug 20 zusammenwirkende Arbeitsfläche 22 des oberen Stanzwerkzeuges 21 ist in Umfangsrichtung zur Spanneinrichtung 14 hin etwas verlängert und weist ein an sich bekanntes Kerbmesser 36 zum Abtrennen des überschüssigen, zur Vorratsrolle führenden Umreifungsbandes auf. Das obere Stanzwerkzeug 21 weist somit in einfacher Weise zugleich auch ein Kerbmesser 36 auf, um bei der Stanzbewegung zugleich das überschüssige Umreifungsband von der Umreifung abtrennt. Durch die abrollende Bewegung des oberen Stanzwerkzeuges kann dabei, wie insbesondere auf Fig. 8 ersichtlich, der Abkerbvorgang zeitlich nach dem vollständigen Einbringen der Einschnittpaare durchgeführt werden. Der Abkerbvorgang ist somit zeitlich vor dem Einstanzen der Einschnittpaare getrennt, so daß die Einschnittpaare jeweils unabhängig vom Abkerben mit der gewünschten gleichen Einschnittlänge und Tiefe gefertigt werden können, was sich positiv auf die Verschlußfestigkeit auswirkt. Nach dem vollständigen Einstanzen der drei Einschnittpaare in die sich überlappenden Bandenden 13 und dem nachfolgenden Abkerben des überschüssigen Umreifungsbandes wird durch entsprechende Betätigung des Betätigungshebels 26 das obere Stanzwerkzeug 21 in die Grundstellung zurückgeführt, die in der Fig. 2 näher dargestellt ist.In order to achieve the successive incision and the consecutive termination of the individual incision processes, the working surface 22 of the upper punch 21 has performed an essentially rolling movement on the working surface 29 of the lower punch 2o. Claims (7)

  1. A strapping device having a tensioning device (14) comprising a tensioning wheel (16) for the purpose of tensioning a steel strip (13) which can be drawn from a supply roll and laid around a package, having a closure device comprising a fixed lower cutting tool (20) and an upper cutting tool (21) which executes the cutting movement for the purpose of joining the overlapping ends (13) of the hooping steel strip having at least two pairs of angular cuts lying in succession in the longitudinal direction of the hooping steel strip, wherein the upper cutting tool (21) which executes the cutting movement is provided with a pivot bearing which effects the commencement of the cutting of one pair of cuts earlier that the cutting of the adjacent pair of cuts, characterised in that the upper cutting tool (21) comprises a curved working surface (22) facing the lower cutting tool (20) and when cutting the pair of cuts with its working surface (22) facing the lower cutting tool (20) executes a substantial roll-off movement with respect to the working surface (29) of the lower cutting tool in the longitudinal direction of the overlapping strip ends (13), combined with the positioning movement of the upper cutting tool (21) with respect to the lower cutting tool (20).
  2. A strapping device according to claim 1,
    characterised in that the upper cutting tool (21) comprises at its end remote from the curved working surface (22), an opening (23) for the purpose of receiving in a form-locking manner an eccentric (25) driven by a drive shaft (24) and is guided at its end comprising the curved working surface (22) with a lateral projection (27) in a groove (28) which extends perpendicular to the working surface (29) of the lower cutting tool (20), wherein the pivot axis (30) formed by the lateral projection (27) is disposed approximately in the plane of the curved working surface (22) of the upper cutting tool (21).
  3. A strapping device according to claim 2,
    characterised in that the shaft (24) comprising the drive eccentric (25) for the upper cutting tool (21) is disposed perpendicular over the longitudinal centre of the lower cutting tool (20) and the groove (28) guiding the lateral projection (27) of the upper cutting tool (21) likewise extends perpendicular in the longitudinal centre of the lower cutting tool (20).
  4. A strapping device according to one of claims 2 or 3,
    characterised in that the lateral projection (27) of the upper cutting tool (21) engages a round cross-sectional surface and engages in a bore (31) of a sliding block (32) guided in the groove (28).
  5. A strapping device according to claim 4,
    characterised in that the sliding block (32) receiving the cylindrical lateral projection (27) of the upper cutting tool (21) comprises at its end directed towards the lower cutting tool (20) at least one lifting projection (35) which is known per se and engages below the hooping strip ends (13) disposed between the two cutting tools (20, 21) in the edge region.
  6. A strapping device according to claims 1 to 5
    characterised in that the rotational movement of the drive shaft (24) with the eccentric (25) engaging in a form-locking manner in an opening (23) of the upper cutting tool (21) is delimited by a hand lever (26).
  7. A strapping device according to one of claims 1 to 6,
    characterised in that the curved working surface (22) of the upper cutting tool (21), which cooperates with the lower cutting tool (20), is slightly extended in the hooping direction at its end which finally becomes effectively connected to the lower cutting tool (20) by virtue of the roll-off movement and comprises in the extended region a cutting knife (36) known per se for the purpose of separating the excess hooping strip leading to a supply roll.
