Description

Die Erfindung betrifft eine Kartusche der im Oberbegriff des Anspruchs 1 angegebenen Art.The invention relates to a cartridge of the type specified in the preamble of claim 1.

It is known to use plastic masses or the like as sealants, adhesives. used to accommodate plastic cartridges. These cartridges consist of a cylindrical cartridge body in which a piston is slidably housed. At the front end of the cartridge body there is an outlet opening through which the plastic mass is pressed out when the piston is pushed forward. The piston is pushed forward by turning a spindle rod, the thread of which engages with a spindle nut which is supported on the rear region of the cartridge body. To support the spindle nut on the smooth wall of the cartridge body, a clamping device is required with which the spindle nut is clamped on the cartridge body. Such a clamping device is relatively complex and its attachment requires a separate assembly process.

From DE-U-76 10 820 a cartridge of the type specified in the preamble of claim 1 is known. In the known cartridge, the cap-shaped holder, on which the receiving thread for the spindle is molded, has an initially recessed and then bent forward by 180 ° edge, which forms an annular channel for receiving the end of the cartridge body. Claw-like projections are attached to the two sides of the ring channel, which protrude into the wall of the cartridge body when the holder is pushed onto the rear end of the cartridge body and thus prevent the holder from being pulled off the cartridge body and also prevent the holder from rotating relative to the cartridge body. The disadvantage is that the plastic holder has a complicated shape that is difficult to manufacture by injection molding and that the holder protrudes not only in the axial direction but also radially outward beyond the cartridge body.

The invention has for its object to provide a cartridge of the type specified in the preamble of claim 1, in which the holder is easy to manufacture and assemble and in which the space requirement is reduced.

This object is achieved according to the invention with the features specified in the characterizing part of claim 1.

In the cartridge according to the invention, the spindle nut is an integral part of a holder which is only inserted into the rear end of the cartridge and engages there automatically. After filling the cartridge body with the plastic mass the piston is pushed into the rear end of the cartridge body and then the holder, which can be designed in the manner of a cover, is inserted into the cartridge body until it engages in the recesses or impressions of the wall of the cartridge body. If the spindle rod is rotated to squeeze plastic mass out of the cartridge, it is supported directly on the cartridge body via the spindle nut and the holder. When the holder is pushed into the cartridge body, the cartridge yields elastically, so that the holder can be inserted through slight deformation of the cartridge if the holder is relatively rigid. The shape of the recesses or embossments prevents the holder from retracting in the cartridge body. In the same way, rotation of the holder in the cartridge body is prevented. A major advantage is that the part consisting of the holder and the spindle nut is fixed to the cartridge body without any additional fastening devices, only a special shape at the rear end of the cartridge body ensuring that the holder is fixed. The cartridge thus consists of a few individual parts that can be easily assembled. The usual cylindrical cartridges can be provided with the recesses or impressions by a simple aftertreatment, so that no separate injection molds are required for the cartridge body. The holder is completely contained in the cartridge body when assembled. It does not protrude axially from the cartridge body at the rear end, nor does it protrude radially. The holder is a relatively easy to manufacture plastic part and it does not increase the size of the cartridge because it is completely in the cartridge inner is included.

With the feature of claim 2 it is achieved that projections of the holder engage appropriately in corresponding recesses of the cartridge body. These recesses are preferably through holes which prevent both axial displacement of the holder and rotation. It is also possible to form the projections in a sawtooth shape so that they can be easily inserted into the cartridge body when the holder is axially inserted and can no longer recede after snapping into the recesses.

In another embodiment of the invention according to claim 4, the anti-twist device and the anti-push-out device are caused by separate impressions in the cartridge body.

The elasticity required for the insertion of the holder can be obtained with the features specified in claim 6. The annular edge, which merges into an end wall at only one end, can spring radially inwards at the other end. The force of the spindle rod tends to push the spindle nut out of the rear end of the cartridge body. The frusto-conical end wall of the holder is straight, as a result of which the annular rim is pressed even more outwards and pressed against the wall of the cartridge body.

Exemplary embodiments of the invention are explained in more detail below with reference to the drawings.

The cartridge 10 according to FIG. 1 has a cylindrical cartridge body 11 made of plastic. The cartridge body 11 is provided with an integrally molded front wall 12. On the front wall 12 a threaded outlet 13 is arranged, in which the outlet opening is located.

In the cartridge body 11, the piston 14 is inserted, which is displaceable inside the cylindrical cartridge body in order to press the mass out of the outlet connection 13. The outlet opening in the outlet nozzle 13 can also be designed such that it is only opened by the user. The piston 14 has a cylindrical peripheral wall 15 and an arched front wall 16. At the rear of the front wall 16 there is an annular rib 17 which forms a bearing for the front end of a spindle rod 18. The spindle rod 18 is also made of plastic and it protrudes from the rear end of the cartridge body 11. At the end of the spindle rod 18, a turning handle 19 is provided.

The screw thread of the spindle rod 18 stands with the Spindle nut 20 engaged. This spindle nut 20 is an integral part of a holder 21 which is fixed at the rear end inside the cartridge body 11. By turning the handle 19, the spindle rod 18 is moved forward, whereby the piston 14 is pushed forward to express the plastic mass in the cartridge body.

The spindle nut 20 consists of an internally threaded sleeve, the front end of which merges into an annular rim 23 via an annular end wall 22. The end wall 22 is frustoconical and the annular edge 23 coaxially surrounds the sleeve of the spindle nut 20. At the rear end of the edge 23 there are at least three outwardly directed projections 24 which are arranged distributed over the circumference. Each of these projections 24 engages in a recess 25 in the wall of the cartridge body 11. These recesses 25 are through holes which are arranged distributed around the circumference of the cartridge body and thus each have a limited circumferential extent.

When the holder 21 is inserted into the cartridge body 11, the cartridge body expands elastically so that the projections 24 can be inserted into the rear end of the cartridge body 11. As soon as the projections 24 reach the area of the recesses 25, the cartridge body contracts again, the projections 24 engaging in the recesses 25.

The holder 21 consists of a one-piece, relatively rigid plastic part. The entire cartridge is made entirely of plastic and is a single-use item. Only the spindle rod 18 can be used in connection with another cartridge such as be used.

The embodiment of FIGS. 2 and 3 are largely the same as the first embodiment, so that only the differences are explained below: There are no projections at edge 23. Rather, this edge is supported on the inside of the cartridge body 11. Its rear end abuts at least three first indentations 26, which are distributed around the circumference of the wall of the cartridge body 11 and are each delimited by a slot 27 at their front end. The inward end of the indentation 26, which forms one edge of the slot 27, acts as a stop surface to prevent the edge 23 of the holder 21 from being retracted.

The indentations 26 allow the cap-shaped holder 21 to be inserted into the cartridge body from the rear end and prevent the holder from being pulled back but not from rotating the holder. To prevent rotation, second indentations 28 are provided on the cartridge body 11, which are also delimited by straight slots 29, but the slots 29 run in the longitudinal direction of the cartridge body. At the edge 23 of the holder 21 indentations 30 are provided, the positions of which correspond to those of the indentations 28 of the cartridge body. When attempting to rotate the holder 22, the indentations 28 snap into the indentations 30 so that the interlocking indentations 28, 30 secure the holder against rotation.

In both embodiments, the cartridge body 11 first made in the usual way with a continuous wall. The recesses 25 and the indentations 26 and 28 are produced in a subsequent machining process.
