Abstract
Description
The invention relates to a device for discontinuous desludging of the salt baths serving the metal treatment, consisting of a delivery pipe with an intake port, an air supply line and a filter unit which is completely or partially immersed in the salt bath.
In the heat treatment of iron parts in molten salts, the quality of the treated components is significantly influenced by the sludge content and the cleanliness of the molten salt. The sludge formation can be attributed to various causes, such as grinding dust brought in with the material to be treated, processing chips, rust and scale, as well as contamination from charging racks. Iron contamination in the bath also influences the formation of the connection layer of parts nitrocarburized in the salt bath.
Regular sludge removal is required to reduce the amount of sludge in salt baths. A whole series of devices, in particular sieves equipped with sieves, are known for removing this sludge from the salt bath from time to time. These known devices have the disadvantage that the sediment is not completely detected and the desludging process has to be repeated several times after stirring the bottom of the crucible.
From DE-PS 37 33 721 a device for continuous desludging of salt baths is known, which consists of a delivery pipe with an intake, an air supply and a filter unit, which is completely or partially immersed in the salt bath. This device has the disadvantage that part of the bath is lost for use. On the other hand, it is not suitable for discontinuous operation, since the time required for a salt bath throughput is relatively large.
It was therefore an object of the present invention to develop a device for discontinuous desludging of the salt baths used for metal treatment, consisting of a conveyor pipe with an intake port, an air supply and a filter unit immersed in the salt bath, with which a salt bath throughput is possible in short periods of time and the entire Soil sludge is captured.
This object is achieved in that at the lower end of the delivery pipe a bottom plate is left open the delivery pipe opening, which is provided in the direction of the salt bath crucible floor with spacers, and that the suction nozzle is arranged in the delivery pipe and can move telescopically down and up in the delivery pipe .
Compared to the previously used discontinuous sludge filters, the device according to the invention has the advantage that the narrow gap width from the base plate to the crucible base ensures a high suction speed of the molten salt and good turbulence underneath the base plate, whereby the soil sludge is also captured. Furthermore, it is ensured that the salt melt to be filtered is conveyed from the lowest point of the crucible through the conveyor tube into the filter unit by the movable suction nozzle. The high delivery rate of the device enables multiple volume changes of the molten salt during the desludging period of about 20 to 30 minutes. Wire fabrics with mesh sizes of 0.05 to 0.5 mm or glass wool are preferably used as filter materials.
The figure schematically shows an exemplary embodiment of the device according to the invention in longitudinal section.
The device consists of a conveyor pipe (2), in which there is an air supply line (1) and at the lower end a telescopically displaceable suction nozzle (5). Furthermore, a bottom plate (7) is attached to the lower end of the conveyor tube (2), which leaves the suction opening of the conveyor tube (2) free and is provided with spacers (4) against the crucible bottom. The filter unit (3) is attached in the upper area of the delivery pipe (2). In this area, the delivery pipe (2) is provided with slots (6).
For the actual Entschlammungsprozeß the device o C good pre-heated at about 350 in a preheating furnace and absolutely dry slowly in the salt bath retracted. The desludging device should stand centrally on the crucible bottom. Then the air supply is connected to the air supply line (1) and turned on until the liquid salt runs continuously through the slots (6) of the delivery pipe (2) into the filter unit (3). Depending on the degree of contamination of the bath, the filter clogs up during the desludging process. This leads to an increase in the salt level in the filter unit. In general, the desludging process ends after 30 minutes if no further rise in the bath level is observed.
