Abstract

The clamping device, in particular a toggle-lever clamping device, is intended for clamping workpieces in place and consists of an actuating cylinder (8) having a mounted head piece (13) in which the clamping-lever mechanism coupled to the piston rod (12) is arranged. End-position sensors (11) are arranged in the regulating path of axially movable elements, the connecting leads (1) of which end- position sensors (11) are run to a cable-connecting piece (7) in the area of the actuating cylinder (8). So that the cable-connecting piece (7) can be alternatively arranged laterally or so as to exit to the rear, the connecting leads (1) according to the invention are arranged in a channel (2) of the clamping device, which channel (2) has a branch (4) exiting laterally and a branch (5) leading to the free end (3) of the device. Here, the device is provided with a cover (6) to which the cable-connecting piece (7) is fastened and which is arranged with the cable-connecting piece (7) on the device so as to be changeable in its position in such a way that the cable-connecting piece (7) sits at the end of the lateral branch (4) or at the end of the other branch (5) of the channel (2). <IMAGE>
