Definitions
- the invention relates to a spray head for nozzle dampers with a housing, an air nozzle element with a nozzle bore for air outlet, a swirl body arranged in the air nozzle element and a water nozzle element projecting through the air nozzle element with a nozzle stick, at the tip of which a water outlet opening is arranged, an annular gap being formed between the nozzle bore and the nozzle stick .
- the invention further relates to a method for moistening paper, in which an air stream is rotated at low pressure and absorbs water from a water nozzle.
- a spray head and a method of the type mentioned are known from DE-PS 952 765.
- both the air nozzle element and the water nozzle element are screwed into the housing separately, the swirl body having a sliding fit being arranged on the water nozzle element.
- the annular gap between the nozzle bore and the nozzle assembly determines the quantity and the azimuthal distribution the exiting air.
- the air is set in rotation by the swirl body.
- a hollow cone-shaped spray jet is created. Due to the tolerances that are possible in the threads, the two nozzle elements can be arranged relative to one another during assembly such that the shape of the annular gap varies in the circumferential direction and thus deviates from a desired shape. This can lead to an irregular formation of the spray cone and thus to an uneven moistening of a web to be moistened.
- This object is achieved with a spray head of the type mentioned at the outset in that one of the two nozzle elements is held centrally by the other of the two nozzle elements and is connected to the latter by a fit.
- a second annular gap is formed between the nozzle assembly and swirl body with a constant width in the circumferential direction.
- the air nozzle element has at its end opposite the nozzle bore a first fitting surface which runs concentrically to the central axis of the nozzle bore and the water nozzle element has a second fitting surface which interacts with the first fitting surface.
- the fit surfaces are therefore located at a point where they function as the spray head, i.e. can not affect the absorption of water through the air.
- the second fitting surface is arranged on the outside of the water nozzle element.
- the water nozzle element which must be passed through the air nozzle element, can simply be inserted into the nozzle element, where the fit ensures a secure fit. This results in a relatively simple assembly option.
- the fit is an interference fit.
- the assignment of water nozzle element to air nozzle element can thus be ensured with high accuracy.
- the mating surfaces either run parallel to the longitudinal axis of the housing or are designed as a conical seat.
- the cone seat has the advantage that it displaces the water nozzle element in the air nozzle element in the axial direction is not possible.
- the air nozzle element has a channel opening into the nozzle opening. At least one through hole is provided in its wall, which opens into the channel between the first fitting surface and the nozzle bore.
- the water nozzle element is arranged on the side of the channel opposite the nozzle bore. For reasons of stability, the water nozzle element expediently fills the entire channel cross section and the fit surface extends over the entire circumference. The hole ensures in a simple manner that air can enter the air nozzle element.
- the swirl body is arranged between the through hole and the nozzle bore. This causes the air to rotate on the way from the air supply duct to the nozzle without causing unwanted turbulence.
- the air nozzle element is screwed into the housing. Since the pressure of the water and air comes from the interior of the housing, it is advantageous if the last element in the pressure direction is attached to the housing in order to hold all the other elements.
- the water nozzle element has an enlarged diameter in the region of the second fit surface. This increases the available fit area. This increases the stability of the spray head.
- the housing advantageously has a centrally arranged water supply channel opening into an air supply channel, the water supply channel being sealed off from the air supply channel by the water nozzle element and a seal arranged between the water nozzle element and the housing.
- the water nozzle element has an extension which can be inserted into the water supply channel. This has the advantage during assembly that the seal can simply be plugged onto the extension, where it stops due to a certain internal stress. After screwing in the air nozzle element, the seal between the water supply duct and the air supply duct is almost automatic.
- the prior art method of wetting paper provides a non-uniform moisture profile across the web. It is therefore also an object of the invention to provide a method with which more uniform moistening can be achieved.
- both air streams are guided past the water nozzle at approximately the same pressure. This ensures that the desired low pressure is maintained by both air flows. In addition, only a single source of air pressure is required to generate the two air streams.
- FIG. 1 shows a spray head 10 with a housing 11, an air nozzle element 20, a water nozzle element 30 and a swirl body 40.
- the housing 11 has a centrally located water supply channel 12, into which water can be fed via a connecting piece 13. Furthermore, the housing has an air supply duct 14, to which air can be supplied through a connecting piece 15. The housing 11 also has a threaded bore 17 into which a fastening screw can be screwed. On the air and water outlet side, the housing is open and provided with an internal thread 16 into which the air nozzle element 20 can be screwed. The connection of connection piece 15 to the air supply duct 14 runs in a different plane and is not shown.
- the air nozzle element 20 has an external thread 21 with which it can be screwed into the internal thread 16 of the housing 11.
- the air nozzle element 20 has a continuous channel 23 which tapers in the direction of the nozzle bore through which the air exits during operation.
- the air nozzle element 20 has an extension 24, on the inside of which a first fitting surface 25 is machined.
- a plurality of bores 26 are arranged in the wall of the air nozzle element 20 between the first mating surface and the thread 21.
- the water nozzle element 30 has a continuous channel. This is enclosed by an elongated nozzle assembly 31 which extends through the channel 23 and the nozzle bore 22 of the air nozzle element 20.
- the wall of the nozzle assembly 31 tapers towards the water outlet opening.
- the water nozzle element 30 has an enlarged diameter 32, on the outside of which a second fitting surface 34 is machined.
- An extension 33 adjoins the enlarged diameter 32 and has approximately the same outside diameter as the nozzle assembly.
- the first fit surface 25 in the extension 24 of the air nozzle element 20 interacts with the second fit surface 34 on the outside of the enlarged diameter 32 of the water nozzle element.
- a very precise fit and consequently assignment of the air nozzle element 20 and the water nozzle element 30 is thus achieved. It is ensured that the air gap which forms in the nozzle bore 22 around the nozzle assembly 31 has a predetermined shape, in particular a constant width, in the circumferential direction.
- a swirl body 40 is also arranged in the channel 23 of the air nozzle element 20 and is firmly fitted into the air nozzle element 20.
- An annular air gap 41 is formed between the swirl body 40 and the nozzle assembly 31. The precise arrangement of the two nozzle elements in relation to one another can also achieve that the second annular gap has a constant width in the circumferential direction.
- a seal 42 is pushed onto the extension 33 of the water nozzle element 30, which seals the water supply channel 12 against the air supply channel 14 after the assembly of the air nozzle element 20 and the water nozzle element 30 and screwing the air nozzle element 20 into the housing 11.
- FIG. 3 shows the surface wetted by the two air streams 50 and 51, which are generated with the spray head 10 shown only schematically in FIG. 2.
- the rotating air flow 50 creates a wetted surface 55.
- the air flow 51 running parallel to the axis of rotation creates a wetted surface 56 which fills the circular ring 55.
Abstract
Description
The invention relates to a spray head for nozzle dampers with a housing, an air nozzle element with a nozzle bore for air outlet, a swirl body arranged in the air nozzle element and a water nozzle element projecting through the air nozzle element with a nozzle stick, at the tip of which a water outlet opening is arranged, an annular gap being formed between the nozzle bore and the nozzle stick . The invention further relates to a method for moistening paper, in which an air stream is rotated at low pressure and absorbs water from a water nozzle.
A spray head and a method of the type mentioned are known from DE-PS 952 765. In this case, both the air nozzle element and the water nozzle element are screwed into the housing separately, the swirl body having a sliding fit being arranged on the water nozzle element. The annular gap between the nozzle bore and the nozzle assembly determines the quantity and the azimuthal distribution the exiting air. The air is set in rotation by the swirl body. The escaping, rotating air tears the water from the periphery into fine particles. A hollow cone-shaped spray jet is created.
It is the object of the present invention to provide a spray head in which the shape of the annular gap can be maintained with higher accuracy. This object is achieved with a spray head of the type mentioned at the outset in that one of the two nozzle elements is held centrally by the other of the two nozzle elements and is connected to the latter by a fit.
In a preferred embodiment of the invention, a second annular gap is formed between the nozzle assembly and swirl body with a constant width in the circumferential direction. With the spray head and the method according to the prior art, after moistening a stationary web, the result was an image of a circular ring, in the surface of which moisture had reached the web. With a moving web, there was a moisture profile with a strong indentation in the middle. Thus, the web was not moistened as evenly as was desired, especially since the areas of high moistening generated by neighboring nozzles overlapped, thus contributing to an even greater unevenness in the moisture profile. With the present preferred embodiment, it is now possible to pass through the annular gap between the swirl body and To produce an air stream emerging parallel to the axis of rotation of the cone, which, like the rotating air stream, also absorbs water, but reaches the paper in a straight direction and fills the inner, previously empty surface of the annulus. This results in a much more uniform moisture profile. The drop in moisture on the two sides of the nozzle cone is compensated for by the fact that adjacent nozzles there overlap moisten the web.
In a further preferred embodiment, the air nozzle element has at its end opposite the nozzle bore a first fitting surface which runs concentrically to the central axis of the nozzle bore and the water nozzle element has a second fitting surface which interacts with the first fitting surface. The fit surfaces are therefore located at a point where they function as the spray head, i.e. can not affect the absorption of water through the air.
It is particularly advantageous that the second fitting surface is arranged on the outside of the water nozzle element. As a result, the water nozzle element, which must be passed through the air nozzle element, can simply be inserted into the nozzle element, where the fit ensures a secure fit. This results in a relatively simple assembly option.
It is also advantageous if the fit is an interference fit. The assignment of water nozzle element to air nozzle element can thus be ensured with high accuracy.
In preferred embodiments, the mating surfaces either run parallel to the longitudinal axis of the housing or are designed as a conical seat. The cone seat has the advantage that it displaces the water nozzle element in the air nozzle element in the axial direction is not possible.
In a preferred embodiment, the air nozzle element has a channel opening into the nozzle opening. At least one through hole is provided in its wall, which opens into the channel between the first fitting surface and the nozzle bore. The water nozzle element is arranged on the side of the channel opposite the nozzle bore. For reasons of stability, the water nozzle element expediently fills the entire channel cross section and the fit surface extends over the entire circumference. The hole ensures in a simple manner that air can enter the air nozzle element.
It is advantageous if the swirl body is arranged between the through hole and the nozzle bore. This causes the air to rotate on the way from the air supply duct to the nozzle without causing unwanted turbulence.
In a particularly preferred embodiment, the air nozzle element is screwed into the housing. Since the pressure of the water and air comes from the interior of the housing, it is advantageous if the last element in the pressure direction is attached to the housing in order to hold all the other elements.
In a further preferred embodiment, the water nozzle element has an enlarged diameter in the region of the second fit surface. This increases the available fit area. This increases the stability of the spray head.
The housing advantageously has a centrally arranged water supply channel opening into an air supply channel, the water supply channel being sealed off from the air supply channel by the water nozzle element and a seal arranged between the water nozzle element and the housing. This enables the housing to be manufactured in just a few steps. Nevertheless, the air and water supply remains decoupled until air and water are mixed at the intended location, namely at the mouth of the nozzle assembly.
In a preferred embodiment, the water nozzle element has an extension which can be inserted into the water supply channel. This has the advantage during assembly that the seal can simply be plugged onto the extension, where it stops due to a certain internal stress. After screwing in the air nozzle element, the seal between the water supply duct and the air supply duct is almost automatic.
As mentioned above, the prior art method of wetting paper provides a non-uniform moisture profile across the web. It is therefore also an object of the invention to provide a method with which more uniform moistening can be achieved.
This object is achieved in a method of the type mentioned in the introduction in that an additional air flow is generated parallel to the axis of rotation. This turns the circular ring, which was previously moistened, into a completely filled circle. When the web moves over the spray jet, the section of the web opposite the center of the nozzle is not only acted upon twice by a relatively narrow spray jet, but is continuously moistened.
In a preferred embodiment, both air streams are guided past the water nozzle at approximately the same pressure. This ensures that the desired low pressure is maintained by both air flows. In addition, only a single source of air pressure is required to generate the two air streams.

Fig. 1 zeigt einen Sprühkopf 10 mit einem Gehäuse 11, einem Luftdüsenelement 20, einem Wasserdüsenelement 30 und einem Drallkörper 40.1 shows a
The
The
The
A swirl body 40 is also arranged in the channel 23 of the
During operation, water is supplied via the
Der parallel zur Rotationsachse verlaufende Luftstrom 51 erzeugt eine benetzte Fläche 56, die den Kreisring 55 ausfüllt.FIG. 3 shows the surface wetted by the two
When brushing past a paper web on the
