Definitions
- the invention relates to a fuel injection system for internal combustion engines according to the preamble of patent claim 1.
- Fuel injection systems of this type are intended for internal combustion engines that are used in vehicles and are therefore subject to high requirements with regard to accurate and trouble-free fuel metering.
- OS 17 51 128 discloses an electronically controlled injection device with a metering system consisting of a cylinder section and a free piston that divides the cylinder section into two chambers, one of which can be connected to the fuel supply system or return system into the tank via controllable channels and the other Chamber can be connected either via a throttle to the supply system or to the connection or distribution system with injectors. 3-way valves are provided as the control device. The movement of the free piston is to be converted into an electrical signal by a position transmitter (displacement sensor), which is to be processed by electronic components.
- a position transmitter displacement sensor
- This injector is not suitable for sequential and selective injection in multi-cylinder engines.
- An injector is known from OS 20 32 224, in which the fuel is metered by a free piston arranged in a cylinder section, which divides the cylinder section into two chambers, which can be connected via electric valves either to the fuel metering system or to a distributor system with injectors. It is controlled so that one chamber is connected to the fuel delivery system and the other to the distribution system. The movement of the free piston is limited by a control rod.
- This injector has the disadvantage that two intake valves and 4 distributor valves are to be provided for a 4-cylinder engine and, in addition, due to the limitation of the free piston by means of a control rod, leaks on the free piston always have to occur when the free piston strikes the control rod, as a result of which the actual value is recorded injected amount of fuel is not possible.
- both devices have the disadvantage that vapor bubbles occurring in the case of low-boiling fuels interrupt the fuel injection.
- the object of the invention is to develop a fuel injection system specified in the preamble of claim 1 in such a way that fewer components are required, sequential and selective injection can be achieved and an exact actual value acquisition is possible.
- the fuel injection system according to the invention is shown schematically in FIG. 1.
- the fuel passes from a fuel tank 1 via a flow line 2 to the fuel pump 3 and from there under pressure via a fine filter 4 to a metering and distribution unit 5.
- the excess fuel is fed from there via a return line 6, in which a differential pressure valve 7 ( Closing body with spring force against the direction of flow) and a fuel pressure regulator 8 are arranged, conveyed back into the fuel tank 1.
- a partial flow of the excess amount of fuel is branched off when the metering unit is open and also reaches the return line 6 via a flushing line 9.
- the metered fuel is supplied in a timed manner in accordance with the ignition sequence of the internal combustion engine from the metering and distributor unit 5 via distributor lines 10 to injection valves 11 and injected through this into cylinder inlet channels 12.
- the device required for metering the fuel consists of a measuring system 13 for the fuel injection quantity with measured value lines 14, a metering valve 15 (FIG. 2) with control lines 16 and an electronic control unit 17.
- the electronic control unit 17 is also connected to the fuel pump 3 via control lines 18 , Control lines 19 with a synchronous motor 20 (Fig. 2) and connected via inputs 21 for detecting the motor parameters and other measured variables.
- valve closing body 22 When the valve closing body 22 is closed, all the fuel flowing in via the supply line 2 is conveyed back into the fuel tank 1 via the return line 6. If injection is to take place in one of the cylinder inlet ducts 12, the valve closing body 22 must first open against the force of a compression spring 23. This is done by actuating the metering valve 15 via the actuation lines 16. When actuated, a magnetic coil 24 is acted upon by electric current, as a result of which a magnetic field is formed and the valve closing body 22 opens up to a stop at a central pole 25.
- the rotary valve 28 rotates one of the pilot bores 27 comes into congruence with one of two pilot bores 29, each one of which is offset by 180 ° on the 5th and 6th sectional planes, after a 90 ° rotation.
- the metering valve 15 is switched off When the metering valve 15 is closed, the spraying process is terminated because fuel is no longer supplied and the valve closing body, which is acted upon by spring force in the closing direction, closes the opening cross section (not shown in the figures) of the injection valves 11, the injection pressure 11 of the injection valves 11 being approximately in the distributor lines 10 is maintained.
- FIG. 5 shows, by way of example for a four-stroke four-cylinder engine with the firing sequence 1-2-4-3, a possible arrangement of the control cross sections of the rotary slide valve 28 for controlling the pre-distribution on the 5th and 6th cutting levels and the control cross sections on the 1st to 4th Cutting plane for the control of the sequential injection and the arrangement of the control cross sections on the 0th cutting plane for controlling the flushing processes.
- the rotary valve 28 is driven in phase with the camshaft speed by means of a synchronous motor 20 (or a direct mechanical drive)
- the arrangement of the control cross sections shown as an example ensures that the individual cylinders are supplied with fuel in accordance with the firing sequence (sequentially).
- the pre-distribution takes place in the upper row - corresponding to a first work cycle - with the metering valve open from the pre-distributor camera 26 via the pre-distributor bore 27 of the rotary valve 28 and the pilot bore 29 into the side bore 31. From there the fuel passes 4 and at the same time via the return flow channel 38 into the supply channel 40, from which the fuel reaches the flushing line 9 via the open control section in the 0th cutting plane and from there into the return line 6, which leads to the fuel tank 1.
- the fuel standing in the volume chamber 34 is pressurized and is conveyed through the opened control cross section in the 1st sectional plane into the distribution line 10 and out of this via the injection valve 11 into the relevant air inlet channel 12.
- the control cross-section of the rotary valve results in the positions of the lower rows - corresponding to the 2nd - 4th work cycles - an equivalent flow in relation to the other three distribution lines 10.
- the allocation can be made depending on the map and depending on other parameters, also phase-shifted, since spraying starts and - end by controlling the metering valve 15 to achieve optimal exhaust gas, consumption and performance values can be varied in a wide range.
- control bores in rotary valve 28 in the 1st to 4th cutting plane as ring grooves on the circumference of the slide (similar to the 0th cutting plane) in order to cover the overlap angles of the control bores on 5th and 6th To enlarge the cutting plane.
- the system also offers the option of cylinder-selective fuel metering for applications with cylinder-specific sensors and control strategies (knocking, lambda, ion current, light emission from combustion, uneven running, etc.).
Abstract
Description
The invention relates to a fuel injection system for internal combustion engines according to the preamble of
Fuel injection systems of this type are intended for internal combustion engines that are used in vehicles and are therefore subject to high requirements with regard to accurate and trouble-free fuel metering.
This injector is not suitable for sequential and selective injection in multi-cylinder engines.
An injector is known from
This injector has the disadvantage that two intake valves and 4 distributor valves are to be provided for a 4-cylinder engine and, in addition, due to the limitation of the free piston by means of a control rod, leaks on the free piston always have to occur when the free piston strikes the control rod, as a result of which the actual value is recorded injected amount of fuel is not possible. In addition, both devices have the disadvantage that vapor bubbles occurring in the case of low-boiling fuels interrupt the fuel injection.
Proceeding from this, the object of the invention is to develop a fuel injection system specified in the preamble of

The fuel injection system according to the invention is shown schematically in FIG. 1. The fuel passes from a
Schnittebene der Brennstoff in die Spülleitung 9 und aus diesem in die Rücklaufleitung 6 gelangt, die zum Brennstoffbehälter 1 führt.5 shows, by way of example for a four-stroke four-cylinder engine with the firing sequence 1-2-4-3, a possible arrangement of the control cross sections of the
By the fuel flowing into the
The system also offers the option of cylinder-selective fuel metering for applications with cylinder-specific sensors and control strategies (knocking, lambda, ion current, light emission from combustion, uneven running, etc.).
