Description

At present, urine sampling for a cytobacteriological examination is carried out in 95% of cases at the home of the patient who collects the urine sample himself in a simple bottle fitted with a screw cap, and brings it to the analysis laboratory.

The disadvantages of using such a bottle are multiple:
- With regard to the sampling technique, the hand holding the bottle will almost always be soiled by the urine stream because the sample must be collected in the middle of urination.
- At the level of the cytobacteriological study, the interpretation of the results will very often be distorted by the indirect contamination of the urine sample, whose isolated or associated causes are essentially:
- Touch or digital touch sterile internal faces of the cap but also and above all of the free edge of the opening of the bottle.
- Temporary deposit of the stopper during filling of the bottle, on any non-sterile support.
- The accidental and frequent fall of the plug.

Prolonged exposure of its sterile inner faces to non-sterile open air throughout the duration of urination and even more if the cap is momentarily lost, which is far from rare.

The present invention aims to remedy these drawbacks and proposes to create a means for improving the sampling technique, ensuring the quality of the biological sample to allow a better interpretation of the results of the biological analysis.

To this end, the invention relates to a device of the above type, characterized in that it consists of a bottle with open upper end, capped by a first closure means with closed bottom, capped by a second means of closure, the second closure means being intended to cover the open upper end after the removal of the first closure means and introduction of the biological sample into the container.

Thus, thanks to this device, the user first removes the closing means of the opening to introduce the sampling sample there, then, he closes this opening using the second closing means which remains in somehow in reserve at the other end of the device. The device can thus be closed by sterile sealing means, the sterility of the internal faces of the sealing means at level of the opening having been provided by the first sealing means.

This invention will therefore find its application in medical biology: coproculture but especially cytobacteriological examination of urine and this latter aspect will be developed as a priority.

According to another characteristic, the first closure means is a cover and / or a cap and the second closure means is a cap.

When the first closure means is a cover, this can be protected from a bacteriological and mechanical point of view, in a complementary manner by a cap.

According to another characteristic, the upper end and the lower end are provided with an identical thread and the upper and lower caps are provided with a corresponding thread to be screwed one on the thread of the upper end, the other, on the thread of the lower end in the standby position and then on the thread of the upper end after removal of the first cap and introduction of the biological sample.

Although the cap can be simply fitted onto the bottle, it is advantageous to screw it as in the embodiment in accordance with the above characteristics.

In order to better preserve the sterility of the internal faces of this additional stopper, the wall of the bottle has on its entire perimeter, a reinforcement outside, overhanging the lower thread, thus constituting a collar, itself hollowed out on its lower face. a gutter intended to receive the free edge of the plug over its entire circumference.

Always with the aim of preserving steri lity of this "lower" stopper, the wall of the bottle extends downwards and a few millimeters, beyond the circular bottom of the container.

According to another characteristic, the bottle is cylindrical with a circular section.

To facilitate gripping, it is advantageous that the bottle has a handle and that it is notably pierced in the middle with a large window.

The handle can be fixed integrally to the bottle or removably by a hook and window connection.

According to another characteristic, the wall of the bottle extends downwards beyond the bottom and constitutes a free circular edge of a lower cylindrical cul de sac and the bottom of the bottle is lined with a bacteriostatic product.

Thus, for example, the bottle has on its wall, about 2/3 of its height, a hook at right angles open at the bottom, allowing to accept a flat handle transversely pierced with a slot at its proximal end and on the flat surface, the handle is longitudinally pierced with a large window in order to prevent possible drops of urine from reaching the fingers of the manipulator.

- dont l'ouverture est initialement et provisoirement close hermétiquement par un moyen d'obturation stérile qui ne servira plus à refermer le flacon plein, car risquant fort d'avoir été contaminé pendant le prélèvement. Ce moyen sera donc jetable après ouverture du flacon ;
Thus, the advantage of this invention consists in having a sterile bottle:
- the opening of which is initially and provisionally closed hermetically by a sterile sealing means which will no longer be used to close the full bottle, since there is a high risk of having been contaminated during sampling. This means will therefore be disposable after opening the bottle;
- whose final closure after filling will be done by another shutter means sterile quickly released from the lower part where it was previously fixed, and which will therefore not have suffered any risk of contamination.

L'ensemble étant muni d'un manche permettant de tenir éloignée la main tenant le flacon des bords libres stériles de celui-ci.The assembly being provided with a handle making it possible to hold the hand holding the bottle apart from the sterile free edges thereof.

Thus, during urine sampling, the patient:
- holds the bottle by the end of its handle,
- open it, and discard the stopper that initially blocked the bottle,
- collect the urine sample,
- quickly releases, once the bottle is full, the other sterile stopper from the lower part, for immediately and without letting go, use it to close the bottle definitively.

All the risks of contamination of the urine sample listed above were thus avoided.

For the removal of stool, the same process will be used, especially with a larger bottle and a resistant, longer rigid handle.

A simple and preferred embodiment of the invention is described below with reference to the accompanying drawings in which:
  • FIG. 1 represents the device according to the invention, in longitudinal section and the handle in perspective,
  • - Figure 2 is a sectional view of a variant of the lower end of the device according to a variant.

According to the embodiment of FIG. 1, the invention relates to a device intended to facilitate urine sampling, while eliminating the risks contamination of the biological sample thus collected. This device consists of a bottle 100 with an open upper end 101 and a closed bottom 102. The open upper end 101 is capped by a first closure means 103 in the form of a cap and the lower end 102 is capped by a second closure means 104 which is in a protected and waiting situation. According to the example of Figure 1, the two caps 103, 104 are internally provided with a thread not shown intended to cooperate with the thread 105 of the upper end and the thread 106 of the lower end.

According to a variant, the upper end is closed by a detachable cover 107, whether or not covered with the cap 103. In this case, this cover constitutes with or without the cap 103, the first sealing means.

In FIG. 1, the lower end is extended beyond the bottom 102 by a circular free edge 120 forming a lower cul de sac intended to perfect the seal and ensure perfect sterility of the stopper.

For use, the first sealing means is removed, that is to say the cap 103 and / or the cover 107 to take the sample, then the cap 104 which was previously in a protected situation is used, to close the bottle.

According to the invention, the bottle 100 can have any shape; in general, it is a cylindrical bottle with circular section. This bottle can be made of a rigid plastic material, more or less flexible and having a capacity of approximately 40 ml.

According to Figure 1, the cap 104 comes under an external reinforcement 108 constituting a collar and whose lower face is hollowed out of a groove 109 which receives the upper edge 110 of the cap 104 and protects it.

According to the invention, in the case where the caps 103 and 104 are fixed by screwing, their threads are the same and the threads 105 and 106 are also identical.

To distinguish the caps or more generally the closure means 103 and 104, these have a different color.

According to a variant not shown, the membrane or cover 107 which closes the upper opening 101 of the bottle 100 is not covered by a cap; this cover is simply fixed by gluing or in another way on the free edge of the opening 101.

According to another variant not shown, the closure means or caps 103, 104 are simply engaged by friction on the corresponding end of the bottle or even by clipping.

Figure 2 shows another variant of fixing the lower cap 104A which has a central boss 111 threaded from being screwed into the cavity 112 of the bottom 102 of the bottle partially shown.

According to the invention, the bottle 100 is provided with a handle or an integral, removable or folding handle. In the embodiment shown in Figure 1, this handle is adaptable and, for this purpose, the bottle 100 has a hook 113 curved downwards and the adaptable handle 114 has a shield 115 before, in the form of a cylinder segment circular or more generally of shape corresponding to the shape of the wall of the bottle 100 and extended by a tongue 116 provided at the front with a slot 117 for receiving the hook 113 and at the rear of a large and elongated slot or window 118 over the entire length of the tab 116.

This handle can also be foldable, for example by means of a hinge.

According to other variants not described, the lower cap can be fixed by a paper flange or other adhesive means placed astride the edge of the cap and the flange 107.

According to another variant, there is also provided an upper flange, not shown, in which the lower edge of the upper cap 103 is housed, always for the purpose of protection against contamination.

Finally, it may be advantageous to introduce a bacteriostatic product into the bottle to prevent the multiplication of germs in the event of soiling.
