Abstract
Description
- La présente invention concerne les allume-feux instantanés, du type comprenant un corps qui peut brûler pendant quelques minutes, constitué par une masse compacte de particules de bois et de paraffine, à raison de sensiblement 40% en poids de paraffine pour sensiblement 60% en poids de bois.
- Associés par exemple à une tête enflammable qui s'enflamme comme une allumette de sûreté par frottement de cette tête contre un grattoir, ils permettent d'allumer les barbecues, poêles et cheminées.
- Pour bénéficier des grandes disponibilités en déchets et sciures de bois, on a déjà proposé, par exemple dans le brevet US 3 192 561, des bûches de cheminées à base de sciure de bois comprimée maintenue en compression par un liant tel que la paraffine. Ces bûches sont obtenues en plongeant la sciure dans un réservoir de paraffine fondue, à température élevée. Cette fabrication entraîne une dépense importante en paraffine, produit coûteux et ne permet pas une régularité des caractéristiques de la bûche obtenue.
- On a également proposé, dans le brevet allemand DE-C-312 182, un allume-feu constitué de poudre de bois et de paraffine, à raison de 40% en poids de paraffine et de 60% en poids de bois. Pour fabriquer cet allume-feu, on mélange intimement de la poudre de bois sèche et de la poudre de paraffine. On dispose ensuite le mélange en poudre dans un four-séchoir où on le réchauffe lentement, de façon à ce que la paraffine fonde et se trouve absorbée par la poudre de bois. La température de chauffage dépend de la température de fusion de la paraffine utilisée et peut varier entre 40°C et 100°C. Pendant le chauffage, on agite le mélange, pour répartir la chaleur de façon uniforme. On dispose ensuite la masse chaude dans une presse à mouler pour former des plaques ou des tablettes, que l'on refroidit ensuite. Cette fabrication reste néanmoins relativement couteuse et longue, dans la mesure où elle implique un chauffage lent, une agitation du mélange durant le chauffage, et un refroidissement des allume-feux formés par pressage à chaud.
- L'invention se propose d'utiliser aussi les déchets et la sciure de bois et la paraffine comme matières de base du corps de l'allume-feu, mais sous une forme telle que le procédé de fabrication n'implique pas de chauffage et autorise une dépense en paraffine réduite au maximum tout en assurant une bonne cohésion et une combustion régulière de ce corps.
- A cet effet, l'invention prévoit de constituer le corps de l'allume-feu par une masse compacte de particules de bois et de paraffine, à raison de sensiblement 40% en poids de paraffine pour sensiblement 60% en poids de bois, caractérisé par le fait que la paraffine est en poudre dont les grains sont accolés aux particules de bois.
- Avantageusement, le corps comporte environ 43% en poids de paraffine et 57% en poids de bois, les particules de bois ont moins de 10 mm de longueur et de 1 mm de diamètre, et la poudre de paraffine est en grains de moins de 1 mm de diamètre.
- Les proportions indiquées conduisent à un produit dans lequel la paraffine se consume bien avec le bois, est bien cohérent et exempt de toute coulée de paraffine pendant la combustion.
- L'allume-feu selon l'invention est donc simple, économique et exempt de risque. Il est facile à fabriquer sans chauffage. Il suffit de comprimer à froid, dans un moule, le mélange de poudre et sciure de bois et de poudre de paraffine pour en réduire le volume d'environ les 2/3. Les proportions sont de 40 à 50% en poids de paraffine pour 60 à 50% en poids de bois. On obtient ainsi, à froid, des corps de forme voulue, par exemple cylindrique, de galettes ou palets notamment, l'absence de chauffage étant ici compensée par le fait que l'on réduit notablement le volume lors du moulage. Dans ces cas, la tête inflammable s'étend sur un petit secteur de leur périphérie.
- Pour empêcher tout effritement du produit de l'invention, il est avantageux de bloquer la poussière de bois par glaçage à 100-150°C dans un four en provoquant ainsi une fusion partielle de la paraffine en surface. La durée du glaçage est, par exemple, de l'ordre de 5 minutes pour obtenir l'effet désiré.
