Abstract

The cleaning and polishing agent, especially for vehicle bodywork, consists of 75-90% distilled water, 0.5-1.5% glossing agent, 0.1-0.4% emulsifier and 10-20% petroleum. A cleaning and polishing agent of this type has a particularly effective protective action on varnished surfaces.

Description

The invention relates to a cleaning and polishing agent without wax for laughed surfaces, in particular motor vehicle bodies.

The cleaning of motor vehicle bodies today usually takes place in several stages. First, the surface of the motor vehicle is wetted with water so that the coarse dirt particles are rinsed off or covered with a film of water. It is important that the dirt particles for the subsequent brushing or the like are coated in such a way that they do not sand on the painted surface. For this reason, the actual washing with a detergent substance takes place after the coating surface has been soaked. This wash-active substance is then again rinsed off the paint surface. Then the paint surface is dried.

Only now is a preservative applied, which consists of a wax or paraffin. This preservative is also said to increase the gloss of the cleaned paint. Finally, the body surface is polished.

Such a washing process is extremely time-consuming and costly and pollutes the environment considerably, since considerable detergents get into the waste water with the water required for the actual washing process.

To shorten the cleaning and polishing process, there are also additives for the washing water, which apply gloss and preservatives to the paint surface as waxes during the last washing process. These agents are mainly used in car washes. Here the user can then restrict himself to washing with detergent substances or request an additional application of a hard wax. With this cleaning process, too, considerable amounts of environmentally harmful detergents end up in the wastewater.

In recent times, there has been a move towards developing agents which are applied to soiled bodies. The agent is absorbed by the dirt and the dirt is lifted off the body or the paint surface.

Such a means is known from DE-PS 28 51 988. An essential component of the agent shown there is wax, which covers the paint surface after the dirt has been lifted off the paint surface under the action of silicone oil and glycol.

However, the wax has the considerable disadvantage that it cannot be applied evenly to the lacquer surface and therefore forms stains. Wax also dissolves in water, albeit with a delay, so that its preservative effect is very limited.

The inventor has set himself the task of developing a cleaning and polishing agent of the type mentioned above, which has a very high preservative effect, is environmentally friendly and easy to handle, and has a high gloss effect.

A cleaning and polishing agent of the type mentioned above, which essentially consists of 75-90% distilled water, 0.5-1.5% modified silicone oil as a gloss agent, 0.1-0.4% emulsifier and 10 There is -20% petroleum.

With such a cleaning and polishing agent, the wax is completely absent. The corresponding preservative effect is essentially carried over by the gloss agent, with modified silicone oil being used as the gloss agent. According to the invention, this modified silicone oil is not disturbed by wax, so that its protective effect is fully developed. It can cover a body. There are no stains.

Silicone oils are understood to mean linear or cyclic silicones which are produced from diorganodichlorosilanes by hydrolysis or by reaction with methanol. They are characterized by a low pour point, low temperature dependence of the viscosity and low surface tension.

They are considered to be physiologically inert and biologically harmless, so that they can be described as environmentally friendly. They do not degrade, but also form a closed surface on smooth paints, which becomes so smooth with frequent use that dirt or dust can only adhere to an extremely small extent.

The distilled water serves as a carrier for this gloss agent. The petroleum, in turn, has proven to be very effective for wrapping dirt particles. However, an appropriate emulsifier is required to dissolve the brightener or petroleum in the distilled water, which reduces the interfacial tension between distilled water, brightener and petroleum and thus facilitates the formation of droplets. In a series of tests, the olein has proven to be very effective as an emulsifier.

In a further embodiment of the invention, surfactants, preferably in the order of 0.5-1.5%, are also added to the cleaning and polishing agent. Surfactants are wash-active substances that consist of a water-displacing hydrocarbon chain and a water-attracting group. They also reduce the interfacial tension so that a paint surface can be wetted by water. Fat-containing dirt particles, oil or the like are detached from paint surfaces by surfactants and stabilized in the aqueous phase in the form of small particles. According to the present invention, anionic surfactants are preferred.

This cleaning and polishing substance according to the invention can additionally be added with preservatives in the order of 0.2-1.0%. Here, for example, benzyl alcohol offers itself, which is a colorless liquid. They are primarily used to keep the brightener and the petroleum in solutions.

erwiesen.
A composition of the following has proven particularly effective for the cleaning and polishing agent according to the invention: 0.28% Olein 14.50% petroleum 83.00% distilled water 0.80% modified silicone oil 0.95% anionic surfactants 0.47% Preservative
proven.

Overall, a cleaning and polishing agent is produced by this invention, which is on the one hand biologically harmless and on the other hand has a considerably increased and prolonged preservation effect for paint surfaces. The low cost is also worth emphasizing, since only a few expensive reagents are introduced.

Overall, handling is extremely easy since washing is completely eliminated. Of course, it is also possible to wash the car beforehand and only use the cleaning and polishing agent as a quick polish. However, this is not the real meaning of the present invention.

Preferably, the cleaning and polishing agent described above is also offered in environmentally friendly cans, i.e. H. in cans that are not under the pressure of a propellant. For example, cans are used here in which the actual cleaning and polishing agent is used in pressable bags and the space between the can jacket and the pressable bag is pressurized. This also makes a further contribution to environmental protection.
