A device for feeding of individual sheets to a plate (4) of an office machine, in particular of a matrix printer (1), is provided with several storage bins (5, 6). In each case a separating roller (7, 8) is coordinated to the storage bins (5, 6) and the separating roller (7, 8) is connected to a drive motor (9) via a gear train. Claims (6)

1. A device for feeding single sheets of paper (5a, 6a) to the platen (4) of an office machine, in particular a matrix printer, comprising a plurality of supply compartments (5, 6) with each of which a separating roller (7, 8) which is rotationally mounted on a fixed spindle is associated, which roller is connected via a gear train (24) to a drive motor, characterised in that a separate drive motor (9) can be driven for rotation to the left or the right, that a drive motor pinion (10) is engaged with a first gear wheel (11) which bears an eccentrically mounted cam (12) which engages in a switching link (13) and that at least one second gear wheel (15) is rotationally mounted on the switching link (13) which is mounted about a horizontal spindle (14), which second gear wheel can be pivoted into engagement with the respective gear wheel (16; 17) of one of the separating rollers (7, 8), dependent on the direction of rotation of the drive motor (9).
2. A device according to Claim 1, characterised in that the cam (12) located on the first gear wheel (11) is mounted between the arms (18a, 18b) of a spring wire clasp (18).

A device according to Claims 1 or 2, characterised in that a third gear wheel (23) is rotationally mounted on the switching link (13), which wheel is engaged with the second gear wheel (15) and furthermore meshes by means of a gear train (24) with a gear wheel (32) which is located on the spindle (33) of the print roller (4) and that the switchimg link (13) is mounted to he pivotable about the horizontal spindle (14) of the third gear wheel (23).

A device according to one or more of Claims 1 to 3, characterised in that a fourth gear wheel (37) is connected to the gear train (24) which connects the third gear wheel (23) drive-wise to the print roller (4) in the region of the leading edge (34) of a bin (36) for printed single sheets (5a, 6a), on the spindle (35a) of which transport rollers (35) are located.

A device according to Claims 1 to 4, characterised in that a pair of guide rollers (38) is associated with the print roller (4) at the exit (4a), the guidance gap (39) of which rollers with the transport rollers (35) of the bin (36) runs approximately at a tangent (40) to the transport rollers (35).

A device according to Claims 1 to 5, characterised in that at least the supply compartments (5, 6), the bin (36), the separating rollers (7, 8) with gear wheels (16, 17), the drive motor (9), the switching link (13) with gear wheels (11, 15, 23) and the gear train (24) and also the transport rollers (35) are combined on a frame (41) which can be suspended on the print roller spindle (4b) and that the frame (41) can be locked on to the printer chassis (1a).
