Description

The present invention relates to an electrical connector according to the preamble of patent claim 1.

Such plugs are known; they are used to connect an electrical device to a mains socket and thus to the power supply system of the power plant. The corresponding connection cable, i.e. H. the consumer line is coupled to the mains socket via a protective contact plug and to the device itself via a generic device plug.

These device plugs are now largely automated. The current conductor and the protective conductor of the supply line, i.e. H. of the connecting cable inserted into a contact spring and firmly connected by means of a crimp / crimp connection.

When inserting the conductors into the associated contact springs, there is a risk that individual conductor wires will bump and kink on the end face of the contact spring. If this is not noticed, it may happen that when the contact springs are finally encapsulated with the inserted conductor ends, the bent individual wires protrude through the surface of the connector or are so close to the outside that the Handling the device plug can cause an earth fault. The person who plugs the device plug into the mating socket of the device to be connected can suffer health damage that can even lead to death.

For this reason, the finished, i.e. H. Completely injected device plugs are individually checked for their electrical safety using so-called contour testing devices. For this purpose, the plug is inserted into a test form that corresponds to the shape and electrically charged from outside. In this way, connectors with individual wires that protrude outwards or are too close apart can be eliminated. However, this is with significant production, i.e. H. Associated testing costs.

The object on which the present invention is based is to specify a device plug of the generic type, in which the aforementioned dangers due to kinking of the conductor when inserting the conductor and thus possibly protruding laterally individual wires are avoided from the outset.

This object is achieved by the molded part consisting of the holding plate and the cover plate specified in the characterizing part of patent claim 1, it being additionally pointed out that by means of this molded part the manufacturing times, ie the production cycles, because of the conical serving as an insertion aid for the stripped conductor ends Through holes could be shortened significantly. The solution according to the invention has thus brought considerable economic success.

Further developments or special configurations of the device plug according to the invention are the subject of the dependent claims.

  • Fig. 1 zeigt einen kompletten Gerätestecker;
The details of this connector are explained below with reference to an embodiment shown in the drawing.
  • Fig. 1 shows a complete connector;
  • Fig. 2 shows the molded part consisting of the holding plate and the cover plate.

The device plug 1 according to FIG. 1 consists of a two-part insulating material housing, namely an inelastic molded part 2 and an elastic, partly overlapping sprayed-on plug part 3 (which is shown transparently in the drawing). With the inelastic molded part 2, the connector 1 is inserted into the mating connector of an electrical device to be connected; the plug part 3 receives a supply line 4, the second end of which is generally connected to a protective plug which is then to be inserted into the mains socket.

The inelastic molded part 2 consists of a head part 5, which ultimately serves as a handle part for handling the device plug 1, and a collar part 6, via which the elastic plug part 3 is injected or molded. The head part 5 and collar part 6 are offset against each other by a circumferential bead 7. The collar part 6 has circumferential projections 8, which ensure an intimate connection between the plug part 3 and the molded part 2 and thus the tensile strength between these parts.

So-called spring chambers 9 are provided in the interior of the molded part 2, into which approximately U-shaped contact springs 10 are inserted or inserted. Via these contact springs 10, the connector 1 is plugged into the mating connector of an electrical device and the contact springs 10 grip resiliently and frictionally over the contact pins of the mating connector.

Bezugszeichen 17).The contact springs 10 extend on the one hand close to the first end face of the molded part 2; on the other hand, they protrude beyond the second end face covered by the plug part 3 and here form connecting pins 11 for the line connections of the supply line 4 (cf. reference number 17).

The contact spring 10 is inserted in a holding plate 12, which is inserted in a form-fitting manner in the second end face via a shoulder 13 and a complementary undercut 14 on the molded part 2 or inserted into the second end face. This overlap area can be clearly seen from the sectional side view in FIG. 1. In this overlap area complementary locking means can be provided in addition to realize an additional frictional connection between the molded part 2 and the holding plate 12.

To receive and hold the contact springs 10 in the holding plate 12, this is provided with incisions corresponding to the shape of the contact springs 10. The contact springs 10 are inserted into these incisions to the extent that they correspond to their desired position in the finished connector 1.

The connector described so far is the subject of DBGM 87 15 003 and is therefore state of the art.

According to the present invention, said and known holding plate 12 is further developed in such a way that it surrounds the connecting pins 11 in a cage-like manner, this holding plate 12 being connected to a cover plate 20 arranged parallel to it, and at such a distance that this cover plate 20 is connected to the Pins 11 on or stands up. This cover plate 20 is also equipped with coaxial to the covered pins 11 provided conical through holes 21, which when completing the connector 1, d. H. when inserting the stripped conductor ends serve as an insertion aid. About the funnel-shaped through holes 21, the conductor ends can be easily and safely, and moreover in short machine cycle times inserted into the pins 11.

From a design point of view, this means that the holding plate 12 and the cover plate 20 are two congruently formed, mutually parallel molded parts which are rigidly connected to one another via lateral webs 22, i. H. form a one-piece cage-like molded part 30. The length of the webs 22 corresponds - as already mentioned - to the length of the connecting pins 11 projecting beyond the holding plate 12. The cage-like molded part 30 is open between the webs 22, so that after the conductor ends have been inserted into the connecting pins 11, they are connected to one another, for example can be crimped.

The material thickness of the cover plate 20 is selected so that in the event that, contrary to expectations, a single wire should turn over when the stripped conductor ends are inserted, this is safely behind the upper edge of the corresponding through hole 21 disappears, that is, cannot protrude.

Anhand der Konstruktionszeichnung gemäß Fig. 2 soll das aus der Halteplatte 12 und der Deckplatte 20 bestehende käfigartige Formteil 30 nochmals für sich allein erläutert werden.2, the cage-like molded part 30 consisting of the holding plate 12 and the cover plate 20 will be explained again for itself.

The holding plate 12 itself has the mentioned approach 13, via which a positive connection to the inelastic molded part 2 is achieved. On the side, the holding plate 12 has a pair of webs 22, namely on two opposite sides, which are in turn connected to one another at their free ends via the cover plate 20. In this cover plate 20, the conical through holes 21 are integrated, in such a way that either annular projections 24 with the through holes 21 are provided coaxially with the position of the connecting pins 11 - cf. the graphic representation - or that the cover plate 20 itself is chosen so thick that the through holes 21 are deep enough to capture bent individual wires. It is essential with regard to the through holes that such - contrary to expectations - bent individual wires securely disappear behind the front edge of the through holes.
