Schließlich besteht die Gefahr, daß sich einzelne Drähte der Stromleiter während der Herstellung beim Einführen in die Bohrung der Steckerstifte verbiegen und verkanten und von der Steckerbrücke nach außen abstehen. Wird dies nicht bemerkt, so kann es vorkommen, daß beim abschließenden Umspritzen der Steckerbrücke die abstehenden Einzeldrähte durch die Oberfläche des Schutzkontaktsteckers hindurchragen oder so nahe zur Außenseite hin liegen, daß bei der Handhabung ein Erdschluß entsteht.The manufacture and design of the safety plug are subject to strict requirements and regulations. Die erfindungsgemäße Konzeption hat zusätzlich zu dem aufgabengemäß erzielten Vorzug dem Stand der Technik gegenüber noch den Vorteil, daß beim Umspritzen der aus Steckerbrücke und Schutzkappe bestehenden Montageeinheit, das heißt beim Herstellen des Endprodukts "Schutzkontaktstecker" weniger Material erforderlich ist. Claims (4)

  1. A safety plug for electrical appliances which can be plugged into a mains socket, having a substantially U-shaped plug bridge (1) the arms (11, 12) of which are connected to one another via a connecting web (14), which is for receiving and fixing in the open region of the U the conductor and the protective conductor of a consumer's cable and which is for receiving at the base of the U the contact pins conductively connected to the conductors, the safety plug also having a one-piece protective cover (2) which can be placed over the open region of the U and can be locked to the plug bridge by means of catching means engaging on the underside of the plug bridge, characterized in that the protective cover (2) has a projection (23) jutting over the connecting web (14) of the U in the region of the open sides.
  2. A safety plug in accordance with Claim 1, characterized in that the projection (23) is adapted to the connecting web (14) so that they are positively locked.
  3. A safety plug in accordance with Claim 1 or 2, characterized in that the projection (23) is an inelastic plastics formed part.
  4. A safety plug in accordance with any one of Claims 1 to 3, characterized in that the catching means are part of the projection (23) in so far as the latter has a bridge-shaped protrusion projecting away from the protective cover (2), this protrusion having for its part catching noses (24) to engage on the underside of the plug bridge (1).
