  • Such a packaging unit is already known from DE-AS 1 146 804.

Abstract

The packaging unit (1), especially for pasty or liquid filling media, has an inside bag (2) which is closed liquid-tightly apart from a filling opening, receives the filling product and is surrounded by a support part (3) which is provided with creasing lines, folds or similar deformation aids and can thus be set up, the packaging unit (1) having a closure for closing its filling opening (5). The packaging unit (1) is constructed in such a way that the support part (3) in the collapsed state of the packaging unit (1) consists essentially of two layers (6) of material lying one above the other, that it has six creasing lines (7) or similar deformation aids arranged approximately parallel to one another, of which the two outer creasing lines (7a) or the like are folded in the collapsed state and join the layers (6) of material lying one above the other, that the two creasing lines (7b) or the like, arranged between the outer creasing lines (7a) or the like, of each layer (6) of material bound a side part (8) between them in each case, that each side part (8) is connected at its two other edges (14) to a lid or bottom flap (9, 10) projecting outwards in the collapsed state, that the support part (3) and the inside bag (2) apart from the filling opening (5) are enveloped by a liquid-tight separate outside bag (4), and that the outside bag (4) projects in the collapsed state over both edges (14) of the side parts (8), adjoining the lid or bottom flaps (9, 10), in each case by approximately half the distance lying between them in the erected state. <IMAGE>

Description

The invention relates to a packaging unit according to the preamble of claim 1.

Such a packaging unit is already known from DE-AS 1 146 804. This previously known packaging unit is constructed in two layers and has a support part which is formed from an outer box and is glued flat to a film-like inner bag. After the support part has been erected, the inner bag attached to it is tightly welded to its longitudinal edges projecting beyond the support part. These exposed and welded longitudinal edges of the inner bag can form a particular weak point of this previously known packaging unit. Since leakage of only one inner bag can result in the softening of the support parts of the adjacent containers, this previously known packaging unit is accordingly susceptible to damage. It is also comparatively complicated to assemble, since its inner bag can only be sealed tight afterwards, but at the same time it is already attached to the support part. In addition, the inner bag of this previously known packaging unit can only be disposed of completely and together with the supporting part, which creates additional disposal problems due to the amount of waste generated, particularly in the case of dangerous filling media.

A packaging unit is also already known, in which a flexible inner container is arranged in a folding box made of corrugated cardboard. The inner container consists of two deep-drawn plastic shells, which are welded together to hold the contents and before filling or after emptying, together with other plastic shells from other inner containers, can be pushed inside one another to save space.

Furthermore, under the name "Bag in Box" a film bag that can be filled with beverages is already known and is also arranged in a folding box. This foil pouch is supported in a form-stabilizing manner by the folding box in the position of use and is additionally protected against damage, for example during transport of this previously known packaging unit.

A major disadvantage of these two previously known packaging units, however, is that they are only comparatively difficult to handle. For example, filling their soft, non-dimensionally stable or even self-supporting inner containers or bags is not easily possible with conventional filling machines and is therefore more expensive.

A packaging unit has therefore also already been created, which consists of an outer foldable cardboard box and an inner bag located therein, which is formed from a flexible tube made of thermally welded film and can be filled via a filling opening provided with a closure (cf. OS 30 16 466).
The filling opening of the inner bag, which is designed as a rigid mouthpiece, is supported in the interior of the carton by a plate which engages via notches in corresponding openings arranged on the inner walls of the carton and is thereby held firmly in place in the interior of the container. This plate is not only intended to protect the inner bag when handling this known packaging unit, but also to promote the filling process and to facilitate the filling of the inner bag.

To erect this previously known packaging unit, however, the support part designed as a cardboard box must first be brought into its shape, at least the bottom closed and position the plate with its notches inside the container. This unfolding process is therefore comparatively cumbersome.
It is also disadvantageous that even in this known packaging unit, the support part designed as a carton can, for example, soften in the case of liquid filling media and leaks in the inner bag and lose its protective and supporting function, not only in the case of the leaky packaging unit itself, but rather also in the case of the For example, on a shelf or in a larger transport container adjacent packaging units.

It is therefore the task of creating a packaging unit of the type mentioned at the outset, which can be stored and transported in a space-saving manner when it is not erected, which can be brought into its position of use with little effort and which can be used in a versatile manner, which is relatively insensitive to external influences and damage as well is easy to use and can also be filled automatically.

The solution to this problem according to the invention in the packaging unit of the type mentioned at the outset is that the supporting part and the inner bag are encased in a liquid-tight outer bag up to the filler opening and, apart from the filler opening, that the outer bag is sheathed over both of them in the non-erect state the lid or bottom flaps adjoining edges of the side parts each protrude by about half of the distance between them in the erect state and that it lies closely against the support part, both in the erect and in the erect state.

A waterproof, foldable container for flower arrangements and for planting potted flowers is already known, which consists of a support part made of cardboard, which has at least four pin lines or the like, as well as a sealed foil pouch enveloping the support part (cf. DE-OS 24 37 670). By erecting the support part, a vacuum is created in the sealed film bag, through which the regions of the film bag overhanging the support part are drawn into the interior of the support part and form a double bottom.
In the erected state, the support part and the film bag form a container which is approximately square in cross section, which is loosely covered on its inside and outside by film, which has a double film bottom and in the interior of which, for example, the root area of a small plant or the porous one , foam-like putty of a flower arrangement finds place. This known container can be used instead of flower pots or bowls.
In this known container, for example, the support part is protected, for example, against moisture acting on the inside and outside walls from the outside by a film layer of a single film bag, however. But not the foil bag itself takes in the interior of the filling material, but rather only by erecting the supporting part, it is shaped and supported in such a way that the container can hold rough, damp earth material. This previously known container is therefore hardly suitable for transporting and storing liquids, for example.

In contrast, the packaging unit according to the invention consists of two separate bags, namely an inner bag and an outer bag. Between the bags, which are sealed liquid-tight except for the filling opening, the supporting part is arranged, which can be set up in its tightly closed outer bag into its position of use and is provided with lines of fold, folds or similar deformation aids for straightening and shaping.
The outer bag has three main tasks: First, the outer bag forms a leakage protection that is independent of the inner bag and prevents uncontrolled leakage, for example, of a dangerous product from the inner bag.
The outer bag also protects the support part against external influences, for example against softening due to moisture acting from outside.
The outer bag also favors the uprighting of the support part. Since the outer bag fits tightly to the support part even when it is not erect and surrounds it, the support part can be erected simply, conveniently and practically automatically if the two outer deformation aids are moved towards one another by slight pressure. In the non-erected state, the outer bag protrudes over both edges of the side parts adjoining the lid or bottom flaps by about half of the distance between them in the erected state, so that when the outer bag is stretched over these edges, the lid and Bottom flaps move towards one another and form a well-protecting cover or base that largely covers the corresponding area of the packaging unit. Each of the two opposite side parts also represents one side of the packaging unit in its position of use. While the two outer deformation aids are moved towards one another in a plane of displacement, the side parts move away from one another, so that the filling of the packaging -Unit necessary interior arises. Six deformation aids ensure that the outer bag can be stretched well over the lid and bottom without substantially displacing the support part, for example with the formation of folds.

Due to the design of the packaging unit according to the invention with an inner and an outer bag and an intermediate support part, this is still tight, for example, even if the inner bag leaks and is therefore largely insensitive to external influences and damage. For example, a damaged, expiring packaging unit cannot affect adjacent packaging units and, for example, soften their supporting part made of cardboard or corrugated cardboard, as a result of which these neighboring packaging units also lose their stability and are difficult to sell to a customer could. In addition, the packaging unit according to the invention can also be used without special measures under "clean room" conditions, since the outer bag surrounding the inner bag and the support part largely prevents contamination of the room air by floating particles. This favors the versatility of the packaging unit according to the invention.
Nevertheless, it can also be stored in a space-saving manner because For example, the support member must only be brought into its use position and erected within the outer bag before its inner bag is filled. The packaging unit according to the invention is easy to handle, since the outer bag significantly supports the erection of the support part. The support part with lid and bottom flaps covers the inner bag practically on all sides and protects it well against possible damage. The filling opening is also supported by the support part during the filling process, so that the packaging unit according to the invention can practically be filled automatically without further ado.

An advantageous embodiment according to the invention provides that the support part consists of solid material, preferably corrugated cardboard. A packaging unit, the support part of which consists in particular of corrugated cardboard, is sufficiently stable and yet light, easy to manufacture and easy to handle.

The support part expediently consists of a one-piece material blank and has the shape of a closed polygonal cross section. A packaging unit in particular, the support part of which is formed in one piece and, in particular, has the shape of a closed polygonal cross section, has good stability and can be produced with little effort.

So that the packaging unit according to the invention can be stored as space-saving as possible, but on the other hand also has a good filling capacity and is easy to handle, it is expedient if it lies approximately flat together in the non-erected state and has the shape of an approximately rectangular square in cross section in the erected state.

Since normally only the inner bag comes into contact with the filling material, for example, in the case of dangerous filling media, normally only this bag has to be disposed of as special waste. In order to be able to conveniently separate the outer bag and the support part from the inner bag, a simple and advantageous embodiment according to the invention provides that the packaging unit has a tear thread or similar separating strip for tearing open the outer bag after use of the packaging unit.

The handling of the packaging unit according to the invention is further favored if a filler neck is provided as the filling opening, with which, for example, a liquid located inside the inner bag can also be poured out and removed again.
An embodiment according to the invention provides that the filler neck passes through an opening of the support part and has two fastening flanges for separate gluing, welding or the like. Connecting the filler neck to the outer and inner bags, and that the fastening flanges have a larger circumference, at least in regions, than the opening of the support member arranged between them. In particular if the fastening flanges have a larger circumference, at least in some areas, than the opening of the support part arranged between them, the filler neck passing through the opening of the support part is supported by the latter, for example, even during an automatic filling process and held in position. So that loosening one of the bags from the filler neck does not also result in the leakage of the other bag at the same time, the outer and inner bags should each be connected to the filler neck via a separate fastening flange.
It is advantageous if the filler neck has a nozzle tube and a nozzle ring if the nozzle tube has the fastening flange for connection to the inner bag at one of its two end regions and the nozzle ring is provided as a fastening flange for the outer bag and if the nozzle ring can be plugged onto the nozzle tube in a liquid-tight manner and can be connected or locked thereto. With the help of such an embodiment, a liquid-tight filling and emptying system can be created which can be combined with all conventional closures and drain cocks. The two-part filler neck has the advantage that its two fastening flanges can be welded or connected to one of the bags brought together on the filler neck to prevent leakage of the filling material.

In order to prevent easy and unintentional detachment of the bags from the filler neck, it is advantageous if the inner and outer bags are connected to the flange surfaces of the fastening flanges which point outward against the filling direction.

The packaging unit according to the invention has good stability due to its lid and bottom flaps. This stability and the manageability of the packaging unit according to the invention is further promoted if it can be fixed in the erected state by means of at least one adhesive tape.

A simple and advantageous embodiment according to the invention provides that two opposite corner regions of the outer bag can be connected to a carrying handle by means of the adhesive tape. Such a design can also be used with a large capacity of your inner bag and transport a correspondingly high weight, for example, comfortably.
The two corner regions of the outer bag, which are connected to form a carrying handle, are expediently reinforced by a material insert of the support part.

It is advantageous if the two corner regions of the outer bag, which are connected to form a carrying handle, are each reinforced by a corner part, if each of these corner parts is connected to two adjacent side strips arranged between the deformation aids of the side parts, if the corner parts are each approximately in the center via a coaxial to the the deformation aid which connects the two side parts and which is in the un-erected state of the support part, is deformable, and if the outer contour of each corner part is delimited by a right-angled triangle which conforms to the corresponding corner region of the outer bag, the hypotenuse of which adjoins the side strips adjacent to the corner part.

The corner parts protectively cover the gap formed between the side strips and the bottom or lid flaps. Since the corner parts lie with their tips in the corner areas of the outer bag, the uprighting of the support part into a use position is also favored. After erecting the support part and after the outer bag is stretched over the lid or bottom flaps, only the areas of the outer bag reinforced by the corner parts protrude upwards. If you place them on the corresponding floor or lid and connect the adjacent corner areas with the help of the adhesive tape, these corner areas and their adhesive tape can be gripped behind and used as a handle. By connecting the corner areas to form a handle, however, the packaging unit according to the invention is also held in its position of use. However, the shape of each corner piece should not go beyond the outline of a right-angled triangle, whose hypotenuse adjoins the corresponding side strips of the corner part, since otherwise the support part with its corner part would be larger in this area than the outer bag, which could hinder the erection of the support part in the outer bag.

The bottom or lid flaps cover almost the entire area of the packaging unit according to the invention, which is designed as a bottom or lid, and accordingly protect the inner bag well against external damage if each bottom or lid flap has approximately the width of the adjacent side part and its height approximately that Distance between the deformation aids delimiting the side part and the adjacent deformation aids, which are outer when not erected, corresponds.

The versatility of the packaging unit according to the invention is further favored if it consists of materials that can be sterilized by heat treatment.

The invention is explained in more detail below on the basis of an advantageous exemplary embodiment in conjunction with the drawings.

Fig. 1 shows a packaging unit 1 in an erect, flat state. The packaging unit 1 essentially consists of an inner bag 2 receiving the filling material, a support part 3 surrounding the inner bag and an outer bag 4 encasing the inner bag 2 and the supporting part 3. The inner bag 2 and the outer bag 4 are except for a filling opening 5 closed in a liquid-tight manner; this filling opening 5 can be closed after the filling process with the aid of a closure, not shown here.

Fig. 2, 4) und verbinden die übereinanderliegenden Materiallagen 6.
From Fig. 1 to 4 it is clear that the support member 3 consists of two layers of material 6 lying one above the other in the erect state. 2 shows, the support part 3 forms a closed polygon in cross section. The support part can be erected into its use position via deformation aids. Six of these deformation aids, which are denoted by 7 in FIG. 1, are arranged approximately parallel to one another. In this case, the two outer deformation aids 7a are folded upright (see FIGS. 2, 4) and connect the superimposed ones Material layers 6. The two deformation aids 7b of each material layer 6 arranged between the outer deformation aids 7a each delimit a side part 8 between them, which forms one of its sides in the use position of the packaging unit 1.
At its two other edges, each side part 8 is connected to a lid or bottom flap 9, 10 which projects outward in the un-erected state. Each outer deformation aid 7a delimits a side strip 11 between itself and the adjacent deformation aid 7b of each material layer 6. If the packaging unit 1 according to the invention has approximately the shape of a right-angled square in cross section (cf. FIG. 5), two form on one of the two outer deformation aids 7a adjacent side strips 11 each have a different side of the packaging unit 1 according to the invention.

As shown in FIG. 1, the two adjacent side strips 11 are each connected to an upper and a lower corner part 12. Each of these corner parts is formed in FIG. 1 as an approximately right-angled triangle and can be folded over an extension of the corresponding outer deformation aid 7a. This extension represents a deformation aid 13 of the corresponding corner part 12 that runs coaxially with the outer deformation aid. Since this deformation aid 13 and with it the corresponding corner part 12 is folded in the un-erected state of the packaging unit, each with its tip in in FIG. 1 a corner area of the outer bag 4 arranged corner part 12 can only be seen in half, while the other half is contained in the lower, not visible, material layer 6, which has practically the same outline as the upper, visible in Fig. 1, material layer 6.

Because the one consisting of a transparent foil bag here Outer bag 4 has hardly larger dimensions than the support part 3 and this is correspondingly tightly encased, only a slight pressure on the two outer deformation aids 7a is necessary in order to raise the support part 3 and to bring the packaging unit into its use position with it.
If one presses the two outer deformation aids 7a towards one another in a plane of displacement approximately parallel to the side parts 8, the two opposite side parts 8 move increasingly away from one another. The interior required to fill the packaging unit 1 is created.
Fig. 2 shows the support part of the packaging unit 1 in a cross section in a partially erected state. The two outer deformation aids 7a, which are already moving towards one another, and the side parts 8, which are already at a distance from one another and which are delimited by the deformation aids 7b arranged between the two outer deformation aids 7a, can be clearly seen.
Since the outer hive in the un-erected state over the upper and lower in Fig. 1 to the lid or bottom flaps 9, 10 adjacent edges 14 of the side parts 8 each protrudes by about half of the distance between them in the erected state, stretches when erecting the Support part 3 of the outer bag 4 over the edges 14 and thereby moves the lid and bottom flaps 9, 10 of the two layers of material 6 practically automatically towards one another until the opposing flaps 9, 10 lie approximately in one plane and together in the use position of the packaging unit 1 form a well-protecting cover or base largely covering the corresponding area of the packaging unit 1. After the support part 3 has been erected, only the corner parts 12 which have been unfolded on their deformation aids 13 project upwards and can each have one between the corner part 12 and the corresponding ones Side parts 8 arranged deformation aid can be placed on the lid or bottom. If the corner parts 12 opposite one another on the lid or bottom of the packaging unit 1 are connected with an adhesive tape 16 (cf. FIG. 5), the packaging unit 1 is held securely in its position of use.

3, the packaging unit 1 from FIG. 1 is shown schematically in a longitudinal section in the sectional plane III-III from FIG. 1. The two superimposed layers of material 6 of the support part 3, which is made here of corrugated cardboard, can be clearly seen. Between the two layers of material of the packaging unit 1, which is also not shown erect, the inner bag 2 receiving the filling material is arranged inside. The support part 3 is closely sheathed together with the inner bag 2 by a separate outer bag 4, as shown in FIG. 3. From Fig. 3 it is clear that both the inner and the outer bags 2, 4 are sealed liquid-tight except for the filling opening 5, not shown in Fig. 3.
In order to stabilize and support the packaging unit 1 as well as possible, the shafts of the support part 3 made of corrugated cardboard, likewise not shown here, are arranged approximately parallel to the deformation aids of the packaging unit 1 and run approximately in the vertical direction from the bottom to the lid.
In order to promote the versatility of the packaging unit 1 according to the invention, it is advantageous if the inner bag 2 and the outer bag 4 also consist of materials that can be sterilized by heat treatment.

In FIG. 4, the packaging unit 1 from FIGS. 1 and 3 is shown in a non-erect state in a cross section in the sectional plane IV-IV from FIG. 1. Clearly too It can be seen how flat the packaging unit 1 lies together when it is not erected and can be stored in a space-saving manner.

FIG. 5 shows the packaging unit 1 from FIG. 1 in an erected state in a perspective view. The packaging unit 1 has the shape of an approximately rectangular square in cross-section when erected.
In FIG. 5, the two corner regions of the outer bag 4, which are opposite one another on the lid or bottom of the packaging unit 1, are connected to a carrying handle by means of the adhesive tape 16. Since the corner regions of the outer bag are each reinforced by one of the corner parts 12 of the support part 3, a heavily filled packaging unit 1 can also be securely held and transported at these corner regions of the outer bag 4. 5, the corner parts 12 have approximately the shape of a right-angled triangle, the tip of which is arranged in the corresponding corner of the outer bag and the hypotenuse is connected to the adjacent side strips 11. In order to make the handle formed by the interconnected corner areas as easy to reach as possible, it can be advantageous if the free edges 17 of each corner part 12, which form the legs of the triangular shape of the corner part 12, are indented, for example, inwards. However, the outer outline of each corner part 12 should not go beyond the shape of such a right-angled triangle, the shape of which corresponds to the corresponding corner region of the outer bag 4, the hypotenuse of which adjoins the side strips 11 adjacent to the corner part 12.

Fig. 1 can be seen that each lid or bottom flap 9, 10 has approximately the width b of the adjacent side part 8 and its height h approximately the distance between the the side part 8 delimiting deformation aids 7b and the adjacent, in the erect state outer deformation aids 7a corresponds. As FIG. 5 shows, the lid and bottom flaps 9, 10 cover the corresponding area of the packaging unit 1 almost completely. The corner parts 12 placed on the lid and the bottom of the packaging unit 1 also cover the gap which arises between the lid and bottom flaps 9, 10 and the adjacent side strips 11 when the supporting part 3 is erected.
When erected, the side parts 8 each form one of two opposite sides of the packaging unit 1, while the side strips 11 adjoining a deformation aid 7a unfolded in the use position form one of the two other, opposite sides of the packaging unit 1.

Due to the two opposing corner areas of the outer bag 4 connecting to a handle and holding the packaging unit 1 in its use position adhesive tapes 16, the corner parts 12 can be placed on the bottom and lid in such a way that the packaging unit 1 has good stability and stability .
If the packaging unit 1 is filled with dangerous filling media, for example, normally only the inner bag 2 has to be supplied as special waste after emptying. In order to be able to easily separate the inner bag 2 from the support part 3 and the outer bag 4, the packaging unit 1 can have a tear thread or the like, not shown here, for separating the outer bag after use of the packaging unit 1. This tear thread can, for example, in the upper region of the packaging unit 1 along the Edges, edges 14 or deformation aids 15 delimiting the lid can be arranged.

5 shows, the filling opening 5 of the packaging unit 1 is designed as a filler neck 18. This filler neck 18 is shown in a longitudinal section in FIG. 6.
As shown in FIG. 6, the filler neck 18 essentially consists of a neck tube 19 and a neck ring 20. The neck tube has a fastening flange 21 on its corner region facing the inside of the packaging unit 1 for connection to the inner bag 2, while the neck ring for separate gluing, welding or the like. Connecting the filler neck 18 with the outer and inner bags 4, 2 is provided as a mounting flange for the outer bag 4. The nozzle ring 20 can be plugged onto the nozzle tube 19 in a liquid-tight manner and connected to it, for example by means of latching beads 22 provided on the nozzle tube 19 or by a screw connection. The filler neck 18 can also be formed in one piece with two fastening flanges.

The support part 3 has an opening 23 in the area of the filler neck 18, through which the neck tube 19 passes. The fastening flange 21 and the nozzle ring 20 designed as a separate fastening flange have a larger circumference, at least in some areas, than the opening 23 of the support part 3 arranged between them. Despite the flexible outer and inner bags 4, 2, the filler neck 18 is nevertheless good from the support part 3 supported so that a largely automatic filling of the packaging unit 1 is practically possible.
Due to the separate welding or the like. Connecting the inner bag 2 and the outer bag 4 to the filler neck 18, this offers a certain security against inadvertent leakage of the packaging unit 1, if one of the welds connecting the bags 2, 4 to the filler neck 18 and labeled 24 in FIG. 6 is damaged. After assembling the filler neck 18 with the other parts of the packaging unit 1, a largely liquid-tight filling and emptying system is obtained, which can be combined with all conventional closures and drain cocks.

Overall, the packaging unit according to the invention can be stored and transported in a space-saving manner when it is not erected, flat. It can be brought into its position of use quickly and with little effort and is very versatile. When erected, it forms a self-supporting, dimensionally stable, stackable and also largely automatically easy to fill packaging unit, which is easy to handle due to its hardly stretchable outer bag 4 and is also comparatively insensitive to external influences and damage. Your outer bag 4 not only favors the erection process of the foldable support part 3, but also represents good leakage and moisture protection for the inner bag 2 or the support part 3.
