Abstract

Claims (12)

1. A set for the packaging and dispensing of a fluid substance on a carrier comprising, on the one hand, a container (2) containing the substance to be dispensed, and on the other hand, a dispensing head (3) fitted on the outlet opening of the said container (2), the said dispensing head (3) being constituted by an obturator comprising means allowing it to be held on the said container (2), and an outlet opening (34) for the substance, the region adjoining the said opening (34) constituting the seat of a downstream valve, whose movable part is carried by an applicator (15) passing through the said opening (34) and normally biased into its leakproof stoppering position by a spring (14) carried by the said obturator, the emergence of the fluid substance only being possible by depressing the applicator (15) towards the inside of the obturator against the action of the said spring (14), this depression being effected when the set (1) is pressed with the nozzle (49) of the said applicator (15) projecting out of the said obturator onto the carrier having to be coated by the fluid substance, characterized in that the said obturator is constituted by two parts, that is to say, an external cap (16) comprising the means for fixing it on the container (2) and forming the seat of the said downstream valve, and an internal adapter (13) mechanically connected at its base (23) to the external cap (16) and capable of sliding in translation in relation to the neck (5) of the said container (2), without the possibility of rotation in relation to the said neck and serving at its end on the opposite side to the said base (23) as a bearing surface for the corresponding end of the said spring (14), the said adapter (13) forming the movable part of an upstream valve, whose seat is carried by the said cap (16), the latter being movably mounted for rotation round the said neck (5) and comprising means complementary to the means carried by the said adapter (13) for ensuring the translation of the latter between a completely closed position wherein the two valves, upstream and downstream, are blocked in the closed position against their seat, and a position ready for use wherein the upstream valve is open, but the downstream valve is still closed under the action of the said spring (14), although it is capable of being opened by pressure on the nozzle (49).
2. A set according to claim 1, characterized in that the plate (18) of the adapter (13) comes, in the completely closed position, into the immediate vicinity of, or into a bearing contact with,the applicator (15), so as to constitute a stop blocking the said applicator in the closed position of the downstream valve.
3. A set according to one of claims 1 or 2, characterized in that the seat of the upstream valve is constituted by a zone of the internal wall (37) of the cap (16), and its movable part is constituted by a plate (18) of the said adapter (13), the said plate (18) also constituting the bearing region for the spring (14).
4. A set according to one of claims 1 to 3, characterized in that the adapter (13) includes means delimiting in a leak-proof-manner, an outlet duct for the substance between the neck (5) and the upstream valve.

A set according to one of claims 1 to 4, characterized in that the base (23) of the adapter (13) includes an external skirt (25) disposed round the neck (5), the said skirt (25) carrying externally at least one stud (29) which cooperates with a helical groove (45) carried internally by a cylindrical skirt (40) of the cap (16), the stud/groove assembly (29/45) constituting the complementary means for ensuring the translational displacement of the adapter (13) in relation to the cap (16) and the neck (5) during the rotation of the cap (16), the said external skirt (25) of the base (23) carrying internally the means for locking the said adapter (13) against rotation in relation to the neck (5).

A set according to one of claims 3, 4 or 5, characterized in that the adapter (13) is constituted by an elongate body (17) joined to a top constituting the plate (18) and linked by radial ribs (22) to the base (23), the said base being constituted by two coaxial skirts (24, 25) connected at one of their ends by a top (26), the external skirt (25) being disposed between the neck (5) and the cylindrical skirt (40) of the cap (16), whilst the internal skirt (24) is inside the neck (5), the top (26) carrying on the side opposite the skirts (24, 25), a ring (30) capable of sliding in a leakproof manner along a skirt (39) of the cap (16), the outlet duct for the substance being delimited by the internal skirt (24), the ring (30) and the skirt (39).

A set according to one of claims 5 or 6, characterized in that the complementary means for locking the adapter (13) against rotation in relation to the neck (5) are constituted by internal radial ribs (28) of the skirt (25) of the base (23) which are interposed between the external radial ribs of the said neck (5).

A set according to one of claims 5 to 7, characterized in that the cylindrical skirt (40) of the cap (16) carries internally two diametrically opposed helical grooves (45) extending over a distance corresponding to a quarter turn manipulation of the cap (16), the external skirt (25) of the adapter (13) carrying externally two diametrically opposed studs (29), the end of travel of the studs (29) in the grooves (45), which is nearest the container (2) corresponding to the open position of the upstream valve and the other end corresponding to its closed position.
9. A set according to one of claims 5 to 8, characterized in that the skirt (40) of the cap (16) comprises along its free edge, a means (44) for fastening it on the container (2) to ensure the hold of the obturator on the said container.
10. A set according to one of claims 1 to 9, characterized in that the cap (16) and the adapter (13) include complementary means (46; 32) for their mutual abutment in the completely closed position.
11. A set according to one of claims 1 to 10, characterized in that the applicator (15) includes a hollow body (47) disposed inside the cap (16) and guided along the internal wall of the latter, the spring (14) being disposed inside the said body (47).
12. A set according to one of claims 1 to 11, characterized in that the walls opposite the upstream and downstream valves are frustoconical, flaring towards the inside of the container (2).
