Definitions

  • the invention relates to safety furniture with a drawer capable of containing precious objects to be protected against external aggressions such as: fire, gas, theft, but which must be regularly used.
  • the known devices are very complex and involve many mechanical and electrical parts. Therefore, when one of the mechanical or electrical elements of the device becomes faulty, the drawer becomes unusable, and above all is not necessarily in the closed safety position.
  • repairing the defective element or even returning the device to its normal state after use in emergency or alert conditions may require the drawer to be opened. Therefore, in case of failure of one of these elements, during the entire repair or maintenance, the objects contained in the drawer are not protected.
  • the invention aims to remedy the aforementioned drawbacks of furniture safety, and aims to provide such a drawer furniture for which the drawer is necessarily and permanently in the closed / locked position unless the user actually uses it and keeps it in the open position, and which is therefore permanently and systematically in the security state in which it effectively protects the objects it contains.
  • the invention simultaneously aims to provide such furniture which is completely safe to use, and in particular which cannot damage the objects or injure the user during the automatic closing maneuver.
  • Another object of the invention is to provide such furniture which consumes little electrical energy, and which is in the closed position in the event of failure of the electrical supply.
  • Another object of the invention is to provide such furniture which protects the objects it contains from fire or liquid or gaseous chemical attack.
  • the invention aims to propose a fire-retardant chest with a drawer in which the drawer systematically returns to the closed / locked position in which it effectively protects the objects it contains, without requiring prior actuation.
  • the invention relates to safety furniture for precious objects, comprising a frame, a drawer mounted on this frame by means of guide, non-motorized means for returning the drawer from any open position in which the the interior of the drawer is accessible, towards a closed / unlocked position in which the interior of the drawer is completely obscured and from which the drawer can be pulled manually in the open position against the return means, the return means being active to recall the drawer in the closed / unlocked position as soon as this drawer is released from any open position, means for locking / unlocking the drawer and means for controlling the unlocking, characterized in that the locking / unlocking means are motorized and active between the closed / unlocked position of the drawer and a closed / locked position from which the drawer can no longer be opened manually, the closed / unlocked position of the drawer being distinct from the closed / locked position, these motorized locking / unlocking means automatically and systematically recalling the drawer in the closed / locked position from the closed / unlocked position, and in that the unlocking control means, when they are actuated
  • the furniture according to the invention comprises a time delay, and the motorized locking / unlocking means remind the drawer in the closed / locked position from the closed / unlocked position, after the time To time delay has elapsed.
  • the furniture according to the invention comprises an electrical box rigidly but removably associated with the chassis and which contains all of the electrical devices necessary for the operation of the furniture, in particular the motorized locking / unlocking means and the accumulators, and the control means. unlocking.
  • This electrical box can only be removed from the chassis, for example for repair or maintenance, when the drawer is in the closed / locked position.
  • the preferred embodiment represented in the figures of a piece of furniture 1 according to the invention is a rectangular fireproof chest comprising a drawer 1 sliding perpendicularly to one of the faces of the piece of furniture 1 conventionally called the front face 3.
  • the trunk 1 has five other faces also conventionally called rear faces 4, left side 5, right side 6, from above 7, from below 8.
  • the drawer 2 comprises a front wall 9 provided with a handle 10 and at least one element 11 forming a container extending rearwards from the front vertical wall 9 of the drawer 2.
  • the trunk 1 in the form of a chassis 12 for the drawer 2 which is slidably mounted on this chassis 12 by means of guide means 13 which for example consist of slides, rollers, etc.
  • the frame 12 defines a frame 18 for the front wall 9 of the drawer 2.
  • the front wall 9 In the closed / locked position (FIG. 1), the front wall 9 is completely embedded in the frame 18, and the vertical outer front face 19 of the wall 9 of the drawer 2 is flush with the front face 3 of the furniture 1; the peripheral edges 20 of this wall 9 being invisible.
  • the vertical front wall 9 of the drawer 2 is thick and has peripheral edges 20 planes preferably extending over the entire thickness of this wall 9.
  • the wall 9 may consist of several layers of different materials depending on the applications of the 'invention. However, the peripheral edges 20 of this wall 9 do not have any rim or shoulder capable of coming to overlap the front face 3 of the furniture 1.
  • the wall 9 can comprise, if necessary, an internal rebate.
  • the wall 9 does not have an internal rebate, but on the contrary has the shape of a rectangular parallelepiped, and the peripheral edges 20 extend over its entire thickness.
  • the chassis 12 has an internal rebate 21 against which the wall 9 is pressed in the closed / locked position. Any seals are inserted between this rebate 21 and the wall 9 of the drawer 2.
  • FIG. 3 An open position of the drawer 2 is shown in FIG. 3. In this open position, the interior 15 is accessible. However, the motorized locking / unlocking means 16 are inactive. The motorized locking / unlocking means 16 are only active from the closed / unlocked or closed / locked positions. Thus, in the open position, the user can use and manipulate the drawer 2 and the objects it contains safely, and without the risk of seeing this drawer 2 close suddenly or inadvertently.
  • the non-motorized means 14 for returning the drawer are active, so that this drawer 2 is returned to the closed / unlocked position (FIG. 2) as soon as the user releases the drawer 2.
  • the non-motorized return means 14 are means against which it is easy to act by pulling the drawer 2.
  • these means 14 are designed so that stopping the drawer in any open position is possible at will. Thus, if an object or a member of the user is trapped between the frame 12 and the drawer 2, this drawer 2 will remain in the open position. This is the only accidental scenario in which the drawer 2 does not return to the closed / locked position.
  • the element 11 forming the drawer container can be shaped so as to prevent as much as possible any protrusion of the objects which it contains outside the interior 15 that it delimits.
  • the non-motorized return means 14 are gentle enough to avoid any injury to the user in the event that his fingers accidentally get caught between the wall 9 of the drawer 2 and the frame 18.
  • the return means 14 comprise an elastic traction member 14 of great length which extends when the drawer 2 is opened.
  • FIG. 5 represents a possible embodiment of these non-motorized return means 14.
  • the elastic traction member 14 consists of a very long tension spring 14, one end 22 of which is integral with the chassis 12, while the other end 23 is rigidly associated with a rope 24 which is connected at its other end at the rear of the element 11, forming a container for the drawer 2.
  • the spring 14 is associated with and mounted on a rear vertical wall 25 pierced with a hole 26 through which the cord 24 passes. Rollers 27 hold the spring 14 against the wall 25, while allowing its extension.
  • the return means 14 may however consist, alternatively, either of a simple inclination of the means 13 for guiding downwards and rearwards of the furniture 1, or of a weight lifted when the drawer 2 is opened , this weight being appropriately connected by pulleys and by a rope at the rear of the drawer 2.

  • the timing device 39 controls the relay 38 for reversing polarities.
  • this relay 38 for supplying the motor 28 is shown twice to indicate how the reversal of polarities is controlled by the timing device 39, and how, moreover, this relay 38 is actuated by the push button 17 of unlocking command, and enables the motor 28 to be powered.
  • the relay 38 forming four switches 54, 55, 56, 57 is shown in its initial state, that is to say corresponding to the closed / locked position, the push button 17 not being actuated .
  • this push button 17 is pressed, after having put the device into service thanks to the lock switch 47, the push button 17 triggers the time delay 39.
  • the push button 17 closes the switch 54 connected to the terminal negative 50, and in series with the unlocking limit switch 33; opens the switch 55 connected to the positive terminal 49, and in series with the locking limit switch 34, these two contactors 33, 34 being connected in parallel to a common terminal 58 of the motor 28; opens the switch 57 connected to the negative terminal 50, and in series with the positioning switch 35; and closes the switch 56 connected to the positive terminal 49, and in parallel with the position switch 35 to the other supply terminal 59 of the motor 28.
  • the output shaft 37 of the gear train 36 comprises a rod 60 rigidly associated transversely with this shaft 37 and which cooperates with the limit switches 33, 34, and with the stops 44, 45.
  • This output shaft 37 is arranged so as to extend laterally towards the inside of the boot 1, that is to say to the right if the housing 46 is located to the left of the drawer 2 as shown, to cooperate with a transmission device 61.
  • This transmission device 61 controls at least one locking / unlocking fork 62 associated with the chassis 12 pivoting with respect to a horizontal, transverse axis 63 and coming to cooperate with a horizontal, transverse stud 64 secured to the drawer 2.
  • the transmission device 61 to do this, comprises a horizontal, transverse upper shaft 65, one free end 66 of which cooperates with the output shaft 37 of the gear train 36 secured to the housing 40.
  • the output shaft 37 drives the transmission shaft 65 in rotation.
  • the output shaft 37 of the gear train 36 advantageously comprises a flat which is engaged in a radial slot 67 of the free end 66 of the transmission shaft 65, this radial slot 67 extending substantially horizontally when the drawer 2 is in the closed / locked position.
  • Another radial, vertical slot 68, in the closed / locked position, is provided at the free end 66 of the transmission shaft 65 for the rod 60 of the output shaft 37.
  • the transmission shaft 65 is mounted in rotation relative to the chassis 12 by means of support bearings 69.
  • the transmission shaft 65 controls the movement of each fork 62 (FIGS. 7a, 7b), by means of a link 70 integral in rotation with the shaft of transmission 65, and a connecting rod 71 articulated by one of its ends to the free end of the rod 70 by a hinge pin 72.
  • the connecting rod 71 is articulated at its other end the fork 62 by a axis 73 of articulation distant from the axis 63 of pivoting of this fork 62.
  • each stud 64 transverse of the drawer 2 cooperating with a fork 62 is rigidly associated with the free end 74 forming a yoke of an arm 75 rigidly associated with the front wall 9 of the drawer 2 and extending perpendicularly inward 15 from this wall 9.
  • the two arms 75 are rigidly associated with the front wall 9 of the drawer 2 in the vicinity of its lateral edges 20 so as to cooperate respectively with the forks 62 through two orifices 76 formed in the rebate 21 of the chassis 12.
  • the left arm 75 located near the electrical box 40 cooperates, when it is engaged in the orifice 76 in the closed / unlocked position of the drawer 2, with a tongue 77 mounted on the chassis 12 and which itself cooperates with the position switch 35.
  • the locking means 16 / unlocking are completely dissociated from drawer 2 and can have no effect on this drawer 2 even accidentally when this drawer 2 is in the open position.
  • the pivot axes 63 of the fork 62 and articulation 73 of the connecting rod 71 on the fork 62 can be placed so that this stud 64 is substantially aligned horizontally with the pivot axis 63 of the fork 62, but opposite the wall 9 of the drawer 2, in the closed / locked position.
  • Such an arrangement ensures mechanical locking of the drawer 2.
  • it requires a slight flexibility or an articulation of the arm 75 so that the stud 64 can pass under the pivot axis 63 of the fork 62.
  • the drawer 2 When the drawer 2 is in the closed / locked position, that is to say in its normal safety position, the user to open the drawer 2 must insert the key into the lock switch means 43, then press the button. pusher 17. If the device works, the drawer 2 is then placed in the closed / unlocked position by virtue of the rotation of the fork 62, and the drawer 2 can be easily opened from this position by simply pulling on the handle 10. Au if the device does not operate in response to actuation of the push button 17, the accumulators 29 are discharged, or one of the elements of the furniture 1 is faulty. In such a case, the user will connect the electrical box 40 to the mains via of the socket 31.
  • the charger / rectifier device 30 If the light 42 lights up, the charger / rectifier device 30 is then in operation, and a new action on the push button 17 must operate the motorized means 16 for locking / unlocking. Otherwise, intervention is required on the electrical box 40. To do this, simply disconnect the power, insert the key into the device 47 with lock to release the box 40, and pull this box 40 forward to examine its various constituents.
  • the output shaft 37 of the locking / unlocking means 16 cooperates with the input shaft 65 of the transmission device 61 so that the electrical box 40 can only be extracted from the chassis 12 when the drawer 2 is in position closed / locked. But in the event of a breakdown, in the normal position, the drawer 2 is necessarily in the closed / locked position and this is why the housing 40 can be easily removed. After extraction, the drawer 2 can optionally be operated manually from the closed / locked position.
  • the handle 10 is preferably shaped so as to offer a relatively weak grip to prevent the user from being able to force on this handle and on the drawer 2 in the opening direction if one of the mechanical elements of the device 61 transmission was especially blocked in the closed / unlocked position.
  • the invention can be the subject of multiple variants and applications obvious to those skilled in the art not limited to the preferred embodiment shown in the figures and described above, given only by way of example.
