Abstract

The tamper-proof snap-on closure (1) is particularly suitable for bottles with beaded edges on the bottle neck. The tamper-proof safeguard is effected by a shear-off element (4) which consists of a push piece (9) and is bounded on both sides by weak points (5, 6). The shear-off element (4) forms part of the shell. In order that the shear-off element (4) does not tear further than is desired, the weak points (5, 6), running in the axial direction of the closure, extend only into the region of an annular bead (2) arranged on the inside surface of the shell. The shear-off element (4) itself, which has at least one rib (11), is connected to the shell via a film hinge and can be swivelled through 90 DEG , thus destroying the weak points. <IMAGE>

Description

The invention relates to a snap closure with tamper-evident device for vessels, in particular bottles with beaded edges, the closure having a jacket protruding from the bottom of the closure, which has at least one ring area with snap projections which protrude inwards like a bead, and a jacket section of the closure is formed by a push-off element, which is laterally limited by weak points that originate from the free edge of the jacket.

Closures have become known which have a stopper (sealing cone) projecting from the bottom of the closure, which is used for sealing analogously to a stopper. Such stoppers, if they are to be used for series-produced containers, assume that the bottle mouth is closely tolerated. But this is precisely not the case with glass bottles. The known closures therefore only give in the rarest Cases after the first opening, a seal when reused. However, if they provide a seal, they do not allow the internal pressure to be reduced, since the stopper is then firmly seated inside the neck of the container.

From DE-OS 16'07'863 it has now become known to arrange protrusions in two axially spaced ring areas inside the jacket of the closure. This closure also has a tear-open tab, which tears through a lower ring area when it is opened. As a result of a stopper also with this closure, if the stopper is properly seated in the neck of the container, excess pressure cannot be reduced from the inside of the container.

The known closures are also provided with a pulling element, usually with a pull tab. Each time it is reused, it has a significant notch effect that questions its repeated use. If such a tab is only subjected to pressure, it folds over by 90 ° and there is no longer any contact surface in the direction of the opening movement, that is to say in the axial direction of the bottle neck.

The invention is now intended to create a snap lock which avoids the disadvantages mentioned above. An originality assurance should be achieved without components of the tamper-evident device getting stuck on the bottle neck after opening for the first time. The means for securing tampering should also not form a disposable part, as is the case, for example, with known tear-off securing elements. The closure is also intended to ensure that gases which form inside the container for which the closure is intended can escape, and after the first opening a sufficient seal can be ensured when the closure lid is reused.

For such closures, liquid tightness, tightness against negative pressure, low cost and the possibility of tight reclosure are also required.

In addition, the closure should also be able to be processed in a recycling process. This is achieved with a snap lock of the type mentioned at the outset if the two weak points that laterally delimit the push-off element completely and partially penetrate the lower casing area and a ring area, and that the push-off element has a pusher that protrudes at least approximately vertically from the casing of the cover, which means a film hinge below the ring area mentioned is pivotally connected.

To open the snap lock, the push-off element is pushed up, as a result of which the element is separated from the jacket of the snap lock along the weak points and now remains more connected to the jacket via a film hinge. By pushing the pull tab further up, the lower closure area is completely severed and loses its tension. The closure can then be pressed off the bottle neck in this way. The tension in the remaining ring area is reduced because the weak points that laterally delimit the push-off element extend into this ring area. The design according to the invention therefore ensures easy removal of the snap closure, but since that ring area is not completely severed, extensive widening is difficult in this area, so that the projections arranged in the upper ring area, which engage under a bulge on the neck of the bottle sufficient tension is exerted on the jacket of the closure to press and seal the closure bottom against the end face of the container. If overpressure occurs, the bottom of the closure bulges, reducing the contact with the end face and reducing the internal pressure. Due to the need when tearing open Deformation of the handle, which is necessary, can see whether the originality is still there or has already been violated. When the closure is put on again, there is no need to fear further tearing at the weak points, because during the spraying process the molecules are automatically oriented at the thin point, which results in high tensile strength.

In a special embodiment of the snap lock according to the invention, it is provided that the two weak points that laterally delimit the push-off element are guided to the center of the remaining ring area.

In a further embodiment of the snap lock according to the invention, it can be provided that the push-off element has a pusher protruding from the jacket of the cover, which is provided with at least one rib which extends into the area of the film hinge connecting the push-off element to the jacket of the lock. This configuration of the snap closure allows, after being pressed on, the lever to be pivoted upward by approximately 90 ° around the film hinge until the at least one rib comes to rest on the jacket lying above the film hinge. The pusher can then be exerted by exerting a force in the axial direction of the closure a moment is exerted by which the projections of the remaining ring area in the area of the push-off element are moved over the bead on the container neck, whereby the closure can be opened.

In order to introduce the force favorably into the closure, in a special embodiment of the closure according to the invention, the pusher can have three ribs, one rib on the side edge, adjacent to the weak points and the third rib being arranged centrally between the two aforementioned ribs.

In the drawing, 1 is the closure cover. In the variant shown, this has two axially spaced ring areas 1a and 1b with inwardly projecting projections 2 and 3. These projections can form a circumferential annular bead, but individual projections can also be provided in the ring areas spaced apart from one another in the circumferential direction. It is also possible to provide a ring area with a circumferential ring bead and the other ring area with individual projections in the form of a bead.

The closure cover 1 also has a push-off element 4, which forms a jacket section of the closure. The push-off element 4 is laterally limited by weak points 5 and 6. These weak points start from the lower edge 7 of the cover 1 and are guided over the lower ring area 1b. The weak points 5 and 6 end deeper than the dec delimitation 8 of the upper ring area 1a. In the exemplary embodiment shown, the weak points 5 and 6 are arranged in the axial direction of the closure, thus parallel to one another. When the element 4 is pressed off, the lower ring area, starting from the lower edge 7 of the lid 1, is severed in the sense of a shearing movement, as a result of which the lower ring area, or the annular bead located there, loses its tension on the bottle neck 15. The weak points on both sides of the tear-open tab 4 are torn open due to the notch effect of the weak points 5 and 6. The weak points 5 and 6 end deeper than the cover-side boundary 8 of the upper ring region 1 a. This maintains a certain circumferential tension in the upper ring area. This circumferential tension can be reduced by the fact that the weak points extend into the upper ring area 1a, preferably up to approximately the middle of the upper ring area 1a. Such an embodiment can be seen, for example, in FIG. 2.

If the tension in the upper ring area is reduced, the lid closure can be easily lifted off the bottle neck 15, but so much residual tension remains that the tightness can be ensured if the closures are closed again.

The push-off element 4 has a pusher 9 protruding from the jacket of the cover 1, which is provided with at least one, but preferably three, ribs 10, 11 and 12. These ribs extend into the area of the film hinge 14 connecting the push-off element 4 to the jacket 13 of the closure. If the film hinge 14 is pivoted upwards by 90 ° after the weak points 5 and 6 have been destroyed, the ribs 10, 11 and 12 come to Contact the jacket of the lid 1, so that the exertion of a further pressure upwards by the lever effect causes the closure lid 1 to be lifted off the bottle neck 15.

When the pusher 9 is caused to tilt, the original pressure surface 17, which in the initial position was directed downwards, moves outwards and the inward surface 18, which was directed towards the bottle neck 15, moves downwards and thus forms a new pressure surface 18, on which a force can now be exerted in the axial direction.

Since the pusher 9 is deformed when the snap lid closure is opened for the first time, in the sense of folding outwards, it is immediately apparent to the consumer that originality is no longer present. The bottle neck 15 is designed so that the closure cap 1 with its comes to rest on a bead 16 of the bottle neck, so that the closure cap 1 cannot be grasped without the use of a special tool. The cover 1 can therefore only be lifted off via the push-off element.

Instead of the ribs 10, 11 and 12 there can also be a continuous bar, the upper edge of which lies in the area of the film hinge 19 and protrudes from the casing 13 at approximately a right angle.
