Abstract

An oboe having a body which consists of an upper joint, a lower joint and a bell, tapers conically and is provided with finger holes, has an increased wall thickness of the upper joint. As a result, blowing the proposed oboe is less strenuous; at the same time, the loudness spectrum of the particular note played is widened and its sound is softer. <IMAGE>

Description

Die Erfindung betrifft eine Oboe gemäß Oberbegriff des Patentanspruches 1.The invention relates to an oboe according to the preamble of claim 1.

Conventional oboes have the defect that they do not have a uniform tone structure across their entire range. The low tones have a full sound, while the high tones, whose tone holes are in the area of the head end of the body and which are therefore also referred to as "short" tones, have a low tone volume and a shrill tone color. This will u. a. due to the row-shaped arrangement of the tone hole bores along the longitudinal axis of the body, whereby each sub-frequency is represented with different dominance in each tone.

The oboe player tries this deficiency by using a suitable oboe tube that serves as a resonator to compensate, which especially improves the sound quality of the "short" tones. Oboe reeds suitable for this must be blown with greater force and effort, which leads to early signs of fatigue and / or lack of concentration in the wind player and limits his musical design.

The invention has for its object to correct the described deficiencies of known oboes as far as possible by changing the body of the instrument in order to allow the playing of the instrument with a more easily swinging oboe tube. This object is achieved by the characterizing part of patent claim 1.

Preferred embodiments of the invention are set out in the subclaims. Advantages that can be achieved according to the invention are, above all, that "short" tones blown with the usual oboe tubes have a higher volume or lighter oboe tubes can be used to produce the same volume. The new oboe can therefore be blown with less effort and at the same time the volume and volume of the "short" notes are increased. Furthermore, the "drag area" of the tones is enlarged. This means that the mood of a certain tone can be increased or decreased to a greater extent by increasing or decreasing the pressure exerted on the oboe tube; this achieves greater uniformity over the entire range. Finally, the flow rate of the air is increased by increasing the diameter of the inner bore and the tone hole chimneys. As a result, the breathing resistance of the oboe player is reduced, which reduces the signs of exhaustion and / or lack of concentration and enables the oboe player to have a wider range of musical design.

An embodiment of the invention is explained in more detail with reference to the drawings.

Show it
  • Fig. 1 is a schematic longitudinal section and
  • Fig. 2 shows a schematic cross section along AA through an oboe body according to the present invention.

As can be seen in FIG. 1, the oboe body 1 is composed in a manner known per se from the upper piece 2, the lower piece 4 and the cup 6. With 8 the head end, with 10 the foot end. As usual, the bore 12 extends through the entire body in a substantially uniform, conical manner and is expanded in a funnel shape, particularly in the cup.

Fig. 2 zeigt ein Tonloch 18 mit dem zugehörigen Tonlochkamin 20, der bis zur Innenbohrung 12 reicht (die Tonlöcher 18 und Tochlochkamine 20 sind aus Gründen der Übersichtlichkeit in Fig. 1 nicht dargestellt).2 shows a tone hole 18 with the associated tone hole chimney 20, which extends to the inner bore 12 (the tone holes 18 and tochloch chimneys 20 are not shown in FIG. 1 for reasons of clarity).

The wall thickness of the top piece is 9 to 11 mm at the head, preferably 10.0 to 10.5 mm, in particular 10.3 mm, while at the lower end of the top piece it is 8.0 to 8.8 mm, preferably 9.8 to 10 mm. 7 mm, in particular 8.4 mm. In contrast, known oboes have a wall thickness of z. B. 8.3 mm and at the lower end of the head piece of 7.5 mm. Since the diameter of the inner bore in the head piece is also enlarged compared to conventional oboes, this results in an outer diameter of the upper piece of the body at the head end of 22 to 26 mm, in particular 24 to 25 mm, particularly preferably 24.5 mm. The wall thickness of the body decreases towards the cup and at the foot of the lower part has the usual dimension according to the state of the art of approx. 6.2 mm. The outer diameter of the lower part 4 is at the foot end 10, as is generally customary, 28 to 29.2 mm, in particular 28.6 mm. The inner bore of the upper part 2 is somewhat wider compared to the known oboes; in a particularly preferred embodiment, it has a diameter of approximately 4 mm on the head, while its diameter on the journal of the head piece is approximately 10.5 mm. The dimensions of the inner bore of the upper part 2 as well as the depth and diameter of the tone hole chimneys depend on the wall thickness in order to produce a tone of the desired frequency.

Due to the increased wall thickness of the top piece, the tone hole chimneys 20 located in the top piece 2 have an increased depth. This is between 9 and 11 mm in the upper part 2, while it is 5.8 to 8 mm in the lower part 4. Their diameter is also increased compared to the prior art.

Since the scale of the instrument, i.e. H. the distance of the tone hole 18 resonator 22 is defined empirically, frequency changes which are caused by the longer tone hole chimney 20 are compensated for by expanding the corresponding tone hole diameter. The tone holes can preferably have a diameter between 2.2 and 11 mm in the entire body.

The proposed oboe can be produced from any material customary in the prior art. Grenadilla, with its various subspecies, rosewood and rosewood, have proven their worth as wood species. As well A well-known synthetic resin-impregnated wood has been found to be suitable for achieving the desired easy playing style and even tone volume over the entire range. A polymer is made from synthetic resin
70 tsp acrylonitrile
30 parts of methyl methacrylate
0.5 tsp maleic anhydride
0.25 tsp ethanediol dimethacrylic
used. Specially suited woods for this are sycamore maple, bubinga and rosewood with its subspecies.

Due to the longer tone hole chimneys 20 according to the invention, preferably in the "short" tone range, an improved partial tone structure is achieved which leads to the desired result of a balanced tone scale and which, above all, makes the tones sound softer.

Since the diameter of the tone holes 18 in the proposed oboe is widened, the individual tones have an enlarged blowing area which, combined with a resulting larger air flow rate, results in a less strenuous playing of the oboe with a simultaneous expansion of the volume spectrum of the tone being played.
