Abstract

A furnace closing mechanism for industrial furnaces is composed of a furnace door that can be latched to the furnace shell and a heat-insulating door fastened to the furnace door. This heat-insulating door renders the thermal insulation of the furnace interior gastight. Loss of material caused by friction is prevented by bayonet joints. The heat-insulating door provided by leaf springs and a threaded hub is screwed onto a threaded spindle, which is mounted on the furnace door and can be operated from the outside.

Description

The invention relates to a furnace closure for industrial furnaces, consisting of a lockable furnace door on the furnace housing and a heat protection door attached to the inside of the furnace door made of a thermal insulating material, which seals the thermal insulation of the furnace interior gas-tight.

Industrial furnaces for heat treatment or gas treatment of workpieces normally consist of a cylindrical pressure housing, one side of which is provided with an oven lock in the form of an oven door for loading and unloading the batches of workpieces to be treated. Inside the furnace is the heated batch chamber, which is shielded from the outside by thermal insulation, usually in the form of a cylindrical tube made of graphite felt or graphite laminate with lids, the insulating lid of which must also be removable, namely for loading and unloading and for gas circulation during the treatment process in the oven.

In vacuum chamber furnaces, especially in high-pressure chamber furnaces, which are operated with high gas pressure in the heating and cooling phases, the insulating cover has to seal particularly well against the thermal furnace insulation in order to avoid buoyant flows of the gas between the heating chamber and the cold housing wall.

The oven lock usually consists of an oven door fitted to the oven housing and an attached to it Heat protection door, which seals the thermal insulation of the furnace as an insulating cover. It is usually closed by means of a bayonet lock, so that the oven lock must be rotated by 15 to 30 ° each time the oven is closed and opened. Since the heat protection door is pressed onto the thermal insulation, there is a frictional removal of the insulating material in the sealing zone each time the furnace is opened and closed, so that after some time the thermal insulation of the furnace becomes leaky and must be repaired.

High-pressure sintering furnaces usually have a graphite muffle inside the thermal insulation, which must also be sealed with a lid.

It was therefore an object of the present invention to develop a furnace closure for industrial furnaces, consisting of a furnace door which can be locked on the furnace housing and a heat protection door which is fastened to the inside of the furnace door and is made of a thermal insulating material and which seals the thermal insulation of the furnace interior in a gas-tight manner without it becoming one noticeable friction loss between the heat protection door and thermal insulation when opening and closing the furnace.

This object is achieved according to the In that a plurality of leaf springs are attached to the outside of the thermal door at the edge area, which converge centrally in a central threaded hub, and that the threaded hub is screwed onto a threaded spindle fixed centrally on the inside of the oven door.

The threaded spindle can advantageously be actuated from the outside of the furnace.

In high-pressure sintering furnaces with a graphite muffle, it is also advantageous to attach the inner muffle door to the heat protection door using springs. For this purpose, the inner muffle door is attached to the inside of the heat protection door via axially displaceable guide pins that penetrate the heat protection door, and the heads of the guide pins are in contact with leaf springs additionally attached to the central threaded hub for the purpose of pressure on the furnace inner muffle.

Due to the position of the threaded hub on the threaded spindle, the distance between the furnace door and the heat protection door or inner muffle door can be set so that when the furnace door is closed in the bayonet lock there is no friction between the heat protection door and thermal insulation or the inner muffle door and inner muffle and therefore no material is removed. Friction removal of the insulating material can be avoided or minimized even more reliably if the heat-proof door is not closed tightly after the furnace door has been closed by actuating the threaded spindle from the outside. The contact pressure can be adjusted by the number and the spring properties of the leaf springs. They can consist of spring steel or graphite fiber reinforced carbon. The resilient pressing of the heat protection door or the inner muffle door has the further advantage that thermal expansion can be easily compensated for.

The figure shows schematically a longitudinal section through an exemplary embodiment of the furnace closure according to the invention, the upper part showing the furnace closure with the heat protection door open and the lower part of the figure showing the furnace closure with the heat protection door and inner muffle door closing tightly.

The oven consists of an oven housing (1) which is closed with an oven door (2). The heat protection door (5) is fastened to the furnace door (2) by means of leaf springs (3) and a central thread hub (4) by screwing the thread hub (4) onto the threaded spindle (6), which is located on the furnace door (2) and can be operated from the outside by means of an actuating device (7). The leaf springs (3) are attached to brackets (8) on the outer edge of the heat protection door (5). Depending on the position of the thread hub (4) on the threaded spindle (6), the leaf springs (3) press the heat protection door (5) onto the thermal insulation (9) of the furnace and thereby seal the furnace interior gas-tight. The inner muffle door (11), which seals the inner muffle (12), is fastened to the heat protection door (5) via guide pins (10). The inner muffle door (11) is pressed on via additional leaf springs (13) which are in contact with the heads (14) of the guide pins (10).

By turning the threaded hub (4) on and off the threaded spindle (6), the contact pressure of the heat protection door can be easily adjusted. In the furnace cooling phase, the heat protection door (5) is lifted off the thermal insulation (9) with the actuating device (7).
