- the scale spacing of the arches can therefore not be reduced below a certain minimum. The consequence of this is that the smallest format that can be processed in the machine must always be larger than the scale spacing of the individual sheets. If the length of the arch were less than the distance between the scales, the following arches would collide at the end of the previous arch and this would make it very difficult to feed the arch precisely.

Due to the two feed speeds for the individual sheets, the printer can choose a scaled system for a larger sheet format and a single system for the sheets with a smaller sheet format. Both areas overlap, so that there is a certain scope for the selection of the respective feed speed. This has the great advantage that a machine designed in this way can process practically any length of sheet and is not subject to any restrictions. This solution is simple and inexpensive to manufacture and does not impose any restriction on the production speed of the machine.

- a spur gear ratio can be easily switched when the machine is at a standstill and makes it possible to change the belt speed in a ratio of, for example, 1: 2.
- a sheet feeder is designed with a handwheel for longitudinally displacing the spur gear set and with a ball lock for both switching positions, so that the printer can be switched easily and securely.
- the feed speed of the individual sheets in the switch position for higher speed is designed in such a way that, given the length of the feed table, the cycle sequence of the individual sheets between clock rollers and contact marks is guaranteed.
- the sheet feeder 1 shown in FIG. 1 for rotary printing presses takes the individual sheets from a sheet stack 2, to which a sheet separating device 3 is assigned for cell binding. With the designations B1 and B2 different format lengths are shown as they are printed in the machine.
- the separated sheets are fed to a belt roller 4 and clock rollers 5 and are transported from there via the feed table 6 with feed belts 7.

- the feed belts 7 are guided over a further belt roller 10 and tensioned over tensioning rollers 11. - a side frame 14 is shown schematically, in which a belt roller 4 or 10 is mounted via a bearing 15.
- two spur gears 17, 18 are mounted for longitudinal displacement and guided by a feather key 19.
- the spur gear set 17, 18 can be moved longitudinally by means of a handwheel 20, a ball lock 21 being provided which can engage in two rotations 22, 23 in order to fix the spur gears 17, 18 in two switching positions.
- the spur gear 18 is driven by a counter gear 24, which is coupled to the machine drive via a further spur gear 25.
- both gears 17 and 26 having a gear ratio of 2: 1, for example, while the two gears 18, 24 gear ratio 1: 1 could be.
- the belt roller 4 or 10 is thus driven at twice the speed.
- the counter wheels 24 and 26 can be supported via needle bearings 27 on a pin 28 which is fastened in the side frame 14.
- Fig. 3 the time axis in machine angle ⁇ is shown in the abscissa and the path of the leading edge of the sheet in mm is shown in the ordinate.
- the table length l is plotted on the ordinate with a certain measure and indicates the position of the contact marks.
- the path of the front edge of the first sheet is plotted at normal speed, the sheet reaching the contact mark after each 1080 ° machine angle.
- the front edge of the first sheet is applied at increased speed, the sheet sequence also corresponding to a rotation of the machine angle of 360 °. By doubling the speed, the front edge of the first sheet covers the table length l in the time of 720 ° machine angle.
- the bow at normal speed requires a time of 1080 ° machine angle.
- the distance A1 which is smaller than an arc length, is shown between the lines 29. Between the lines 30, A2 is the distance that is greater than an arc length. It follows from this that with an increased feed speed of the sheets and with a correspondingly smaller sheet format it is possible with the present embodiment to carry out a single sheet feeder.
- FIG. 4 shows format lengths in a machine, for example from 95 to 360 mm.
- a scale spacing of 160 mm which corresponds to a simple belt speed
- the area 32 from 180 to 360 mm, represents the normal working area of the machine, whereby the underfeed of the sheet feed is used here.
- a scale spacing of 320 mm which corresponds to twice the belt speed
- the sheet can be worked in the area 33 without scaling, this being a format length of 95 to 220 mm.
- This is the normal working area for small format lengths with single sheet feed.
- the area 34 between 340 and 360 mm is now a possibility to work with shingling at double belt speed of 320 mm, this being insignificant in practice.
- This diagram clearly shows that the areas 32 and 33 overlap, so that continuous processing of all sheet formats that occur in practice is possible.
Abstract
Description
The invention relates to a sheet feeder for rotary printing machines with a sheet stack, from which the sheets are fed to a printing cylinder.
In the case of a sheet store with a shingled sheet feed, the shingling must H. the distance from sheet to sheet, have a certain dimension so that there is enough time to align the sheet laterally and in the feed direction. The next sheet can only be placed on the front and side marks if the previous sheet has already been taken over by the grippers of the vibration system. The scale spacing of the arches can therefore not be reduced below a certain minimum. The consequence of this is that the smallest format that can be processed in the machine must always be larger than the scale spacing of the individual sheets. If the length of the arch were less than the distance between the scales, the following arches would collide at the end of the previous arch and this would make it very difficult to feed the arch precisely.
The disadvantage for the print shop is that practically only a certain format range can be printed and that very small formats, such as. B. envelopes, can not be printed. This will make the Limited use of an existing machine so that the printer is unable to perform certain special jobs. Based on these circumstances, it is the object of the present invention to eliminate the limitation of the smallest format length in a sheet feeder with a scaled sheet feeder.
As a solution to the problem, the following design is proposed: sheet feeder for rotary printing presses with a sheet stack with sheet separating device downstream clock rolls, with a feed table with feed belts for the sheets, with lay-on marks for aligning the sheets laterally and in the transport direction, and with a drive for the feed belts, which is adapted to different Feed speed for the sheets is switchable, so that large sheet formats are scaled and small sheet formats can be created individually at higher feed speeds.
In one embodiment of the invention, a sheet feeder is provided with a belt roller for driving the feed belts, which spur gears are assigned with two gear ratios, and a spur gear set engages with one of the counter gears by longitudinal displacement on a pin is feasible. Such a spur gear ratio can be easily switched when the machine is at a standstill and makes it possible to change the belt speed in a ratio of, for example, 1: 2. In a further embodiment of the invention, a sheet feeder is designed with a handwheel for longitudinally displacing the spur gear set and with a ball lock for both switching positions, so that the printer can be switched easily and securely. The feed speed of the individual sheets in the switch position for higher speed is designed in such a way that, given the length of the feed table, the cycle sequence of the individual sheets between clock rollers and contact marks is guaranteed.

The sheet feeder 1 shown in FIG. 1 for rotary printing presses takes the individual sheets from a
The separated sheets are fed to a belt roller 4 and
In Fig. 2, a
In Fig. 3, the time axis in machine angle α is shown in the abscissa and the path of the leading edge of the sheet in mm is shown in the ordinate. The table length l is plotted on the ordinate with a certain measure and indicates the position of the contact marks. With the dash-
With a scale spacing of 160 mm, which corresponds to a simple belt speed, work in the
