Description

The invention relates to a rectangular packaging made from at least one blank made of a flexible plastic composite film, in particular for powdery, granulated, pasty or lumpy filling material, with at least one longitudinal seam and four side walls, a folding closure being provided on the first end face of the packaging, which is folded from four first flaps formed on the side walls, which partially overlap one another.

Up to now, packaging has been made of flexible material either in the form of a bag or as a deep-drawn container with a lid. Both forms have served their purpose, but their further packaging in larger containers as well as their placement on the store shelves are inappropriate.

In der FR-A-1 304 366 ist bereits eine Rechteckverpackung beschrieben, die einen derartigen Faltverschluß aufweist, die aber den wesentlichen Nachteil beinhaltet, daß sie mit einem derartig gestalteten Verschluß nur dann dicht verschließbar ist, wenn entweder die Verpackung noch leer ist oder aber mit einem festen, klotzförmigen Gegenstand gefüllt ist, der den Druck eines Verschließkolbens aufzunehmen im Stande ist.FR-A-1 304 366 has already described a rectangular packaging which has such a folding closure, but which has the essential disadvantage that it can only be sealed tightly with such a closure if the packaging is either still empty or else is filled with a solid, block-shaped object that is able to absorb the pressure of a sealing piston.

From this publication it is also known to close rectangular packagings with transverse sealing seams, which is very favorable for the tightness of the closure, but the stability of a packaging placed on this transverse sealing seam and, above all, its appearance leaves much to be desired.

For tight sealing, it is necessary to provide such packaging with a transverse sealing seam at the end of the package to be closed, since a folding closure would not have to be sealed.

Such transverse sealing seams are also known per se, but no stability of the finished packaging can be achieved with the known designs.

The invention is therefore based on the object of creating a rectangular packaging and a method for erecting, filling and closing this packaging, so that the packaging can be produced from inexpensive material and without a carton, can also be tightly sealed with lumpy and sharp-edged filling material and has good stability , although the end closure is to be concealed on the floor.

This object is achieved in that a closure is provided on the other second end face, which consists of second tabs, which are integrally formed continuously on the side walls, the common circumferential end edge being connected by a continuous transverse seam, the protruding beyond the packaging Corners are created as gusset surfaces on the second end face of the packaging, and that on this second end face equipped with the transverse seam, at least on two opposite side walls, there are ribs which continue in the direction of the side walls and which are formed by folding in the second flap are formed on the inside of the side walls, the ribs projecting so far beyond the other end side that the gusset surfaces applied to the other end side do not protrude.

Despite the flexible plastic composite film used, packaging of this type is very dimensionally stable, as a result of which it provides the filling material with excellent protection. In addition, due to this dimensional stability, it has very good machinability, which greatly facilitates the filling and closing process. Compared to the mainly conventional flat bag, it requires less space and considerably less material. Another advantage of the present invention is based on the dimensional stability; In the case of the flat bag previously used, sharp-edged contents had to be broken in order to avoid puncturing the packaging. As a result of the space now available, however, the contents can be left in their original form.

An advantageous embodiment of the invention is that the longitudinal seam is designed as an overlap seam.

If this longitudinal seam is also provided according to a further embodiment of the invention in the region of an edge between two side walls, this is almost invisible and in no way disturbing.

In an advantageous development of the invention it is provided that the flexible material is provided with a sealing medium on both sides at least in the area of the longitudinal seam.

As a result, the longitudinal seam can be produced in a particularly simple manner and with great strength and tightness.

Furthermore, it has proven to be advantageous if the Inside of the flexible material is at least partially provided with a self-sealing surface.

This makes it particularly easy to seal the cross seam.

The functional reliability of the ribs mentioned at the outset is further increased if, according to the invention, the second tabs are sealed to the side walls in the region of the ribs.

A further advantageous embodiment of the invention is that the first end face provided with the folding closure is provided with a piece of film on the outside of its pack.

A closure made of foil, adhesive tape, cardboard or paper results in an additional closure and a further sealing of this end face.

The piece of film can also or additionally serve other purposes; it is possible, for example, to design the piece of film as a token or guarantee seal.

In an advantageous method for erecting the packaging, it is provided that the flexible material is closed along a longitudinal seam to form a tubular structure, that the flaps provided on the first end face are then folded against an internal tool and glued or sealed against one another, whereupon the packaging with the still open second end face is filled up, and then this second end face is closed by a transverse seam, which is produced as an adhesive or sealed seam, whereupon this seam protruding from the packaging is unfolded onto the second end face of the packaging and the two gusset surfaces that form laterally are placed on the packaging.

This process sequence is particularly simple, as a result of which the mechanical outlay is very low.

A further advantageous method is characterized in that, before the transverse seam is produced, at least two mutually opposite flaps of the flaps provided for forming the second end face are folded in at part of their height into the interior until they rest against the side wall, and are preferably sealed with the latter, whereupon the latter Fold the flaps outwards and against each other to form the cross seam.

This results in a very stable and stable packaging with a particularly simple process sequence.

It is also possible, however, that according to the invention, after the transverse seam has been produced, at least two mutually opposite flaps of the flaps provided to form the second end face are folded inward at part of their height until they rest against the side wall and are preferably sealed with the latter.

This also shows a rational manufacturing process with which a very functional packaging can be produced.

Trockensuppen od.dgl..The use of a packaging according to the invention for packaging powdery, granulated, pasty or lumpy filling material, such as dry soups or the like, is also very advantageous.

Diese Rippen 7 erhöhen insbesondere bei nicht besonders gut faltbarem Verpackungs-Material die Standfestigkeit der Verpackung, sie sind jedoch bei gut faltbarem Material nicht notwendig.1 in Fig. 1 is a rectangular packaging, which has four side walls 2 and is provided on its upper end with a folding closure 3. On the lower end face - as can be seen from FIG. 2 - a transverse seam 4 is provided, which is laid flat against the end face. The two resulting gusset surfaces 5 and 6 are also laid flat on the end face. The end face is slightly lower than the end of the side walls, whereby ribs 7 are formed. These ribs 7 increase the stability of the packaging, in particular if the packaging material is not particularly easy to fold, but they are not necessary if the material is easy to fold.

Diese Lappen 10 bilden bei der fertigen Verpackung 1 dann den oberen Faltverschluß 3.3 to 6 the emergence of a packaging 1 represented in four stages. 3, a blank of the flexible packaging material is placed around an inner mandrel 8 and closed along a longitudinal seam 9. Tabs 10 and 11 are formed on the side walls 2, of which the lower 10 in FIG. 4 are folded onto the inner mandrel 8 and pressed with a heatable sealing tool 12 and thus sealed against one another. These flaps 10 then form the upper folding closure 3 in the finished packaging 1.

After this folding closure 3 has been produced, the sealing tool 12 and the inner mandrel 8 are removed and the filling material is poured into the packaging from the still open, upwardly facing lower end face in a manner not shown. This side is then closed by the transverse seam 4 (Fig. 5). This transverse seam 4 is then - as can be seen in FIG. 6 - placed flat against the end face. The gusset surfaces 5 and 6 are formed, which protrude approximately vertically upwards and are then also placed flat against the end face.

The finished and filled packaging is now upside down, but this is by no means a disadvantage. Rather, a larger number of packages is now placed in a larger outer packaging with the head down.

Pack according to claim 8, wherein before the cross seam is produced at least two of the flaps provided to form the second end that are located opposite each other are folded inwards into the pack for part of their height until they rest against the side panel and are preferably sealed to the same, after which these flaps are folded back outwards and against each other to form the cross seam.
10. Process according to claim 8, wherein after the cross seam has been produced at least two of the flaps provided to form the second end that are located opposite each other are folded inwards into the pack for part of their height until they rest against the side panel and are preferably sealed to the same.
11. Use of a pack according to claims 1 to 7 to package powdery, granular, pasty or particulate products, such as dried soups or similar products.
