Description

The invention relates to a rectangular packaging made from at least one blank made of flexible material, such as e.g. a plastic composite film, in particular for powdery, granulated, pasty or lumpy filling material, with at least one longitudinal seam and four side walls.

Up to now, packaging has been made of flexible material either in the form of a bag or as a deep-drawn container with a lid. Both forms have served their purpose, but their further packaging in larger containers as well as their placement on the store shelves are inappropriate.

The invention is therefore based on the object of proposing a packaging made of flexible material which protects the contents to be packed at least as well as the previously known packaging, but which also facilitates further packaging and placement on sales shelves.

This object is achieved by a rectangular packaging in which a folding closure is provided on one end face, which is folded from four flaps formed on the side walls, which partially overlap one another, and in that the other end face has a transverse seam, the protruding from the packaging Corners are created as gusset areas on the packaging.

Despite the flexible material used, such packaging is dimensionally stable, as a result of which it provides excellent protection for the contents. In addition, due to this dimensional stability, it has very good machinability, which greatly facilitates the filling and closing process. Compared to the mainly conventional flat bag, it requires less space and considerably less material. Another advantage of the present invention is based on the dimensional stability; In the previously used flat bags, coarse and, above all, sharp-edged contents lead to the package being pierced, so that they can either not be used or they have to be pre-broken. As a result of the space that is now available, however, the contents can be left in their original form.

An advantageous embodiment of the invention is that the longitudinal seam of the packaging is designed as an overlap seam.

If this longitudinal seam is also provided according to a further embodiment of the invention in the region of an edge between two side walls, this is almost invisible and in no way disturbing.

In an advantageous development of the invention it is provided that the flexible material is provided with a sealing medium on both sides at least in the area of the longitudinal seam.
As a result, the longitudinal seam can be produced in a particularly simple manner and with great strength and tightness.

Furthermore, it has proven to be advantageous if the inside of the flexible material is at least partially provided with a self-sealing surface.
This makes it particularly easy to seal the cross seam.

A very advantageous development of the invention is characterized in that ribs are provided on the end face equipped with the transverse seam on at least two mutually opposite side walls, which are formed by folding in the flaps on the inside of the side walls.
These ribs significantly increase the stability of the packaging, since the gusset surfaces can be folded into the space formed by the ribs.

The functional reliability of the ribs is further increased if, according to the invention, the tabs are sealed on the side walls in the area of the ribs.

A further favorable embodiment of the invention is that the end face provided with the folding closure is provided with a piece of film on the outside of its pack.

A closure made of foil, adhesive tape, cardboard or paper results in an additional closure and a further sealing of the end face.

The piece of film can also or additionally serve other purposes; it is possible, for example, to design the piece of film as a token or guarantee seal.

In an advantageous method for erecting the packaging, it is provided that the flexible material is closed along a longitudinal seam to form a tubular structure, that the flaps provided on one end face are then folded against an internal tool and glued or sealed against one another, whereupon the packaging with the still open face is filled upwards, and then this face is closed by a transverse seam, which is produced as an adhesive or sealed seam, whereupon this seam protruding from the packaging is folded onto the face of the packaging and the two gusset surfaces that form laterally be placed on the packaging.

This process sequence is particularly simple, as a result of which the mechanical outlay is very low.

A further advantageous embodiment of the process flow is that before producing the transverse seam, at least two opposing flaps of the flaps provided for the formation of the end face are folded in at part of their height into the interior until they rest against the side wall, and are preferably sealed with the latter, whereupon these Fold the flaps outwards and against each other to form the cross seam.

In addition, it is possible according to the invention that, after the transverse seam has been produced, at least two mutually opposite flaps of the flaps provided for forming the end face are folded in at part of their height inside until they rest against the side wall and are preferably sealed with the latter. Although these processes are somewhat more complex due to the production of the ribs, the packaging produced in this way is much more stable.

B. Trockensuppen od.dgl..The use of the packaging according to the invention for packaging powdery, granulated, pasty or lumpy filling material, such as, for. B. dry soups or the like.

The invention is illustrated in the drawing using two exemplary embodiments. Show:
  • 1 is a diagram of a rectangular packaging with a folding closure provided on the upper end face,
  • 2 is a plan view of the lower end face of the package, which is closed with a transverse seam and has ribs at the transition between the side walls and the end face,
  • 3 shows a schematic view of an inner mandrel, around which a blank is folded to form a tubular casing and closed along a longitudinal seam to form the packaging,
  • 4 shows a schematic view of a further stage in the development of the packaging with the folding closure attached to the lower end face and the sealing tool applied,
  • Fig. 5 is a view of the already filled packaging with cross-seal seam attached to the upper end face and
  • Fig. 6 is a view of the packaging in which the transverse seam is just created on the upper end face.

Diese Rippen 7 erhöhen insbesondere bei nicht besonders gut faltbarem Verpackungs-Material die Standfestigkeit der Verpackung, sie sind jedoch bei gut faltbarem Material nicht notwendig.1 in FIG. 1 denotes a rectangular packaging which has four side walls 2 and is provided with a folding closure 3 on its upper end face. As can be seen in FIG. 2, a transverse seam 4 is provided on the lower end face, which is laid flat against the end face. The two resulting gusset surfaces 5 and 6 are also laid flat on the end face. The end face is slightly lower than the end of the side walls, whereby ribs 7 are formed. These ribs 7 increase the stability of the packaging, in particular in the case of packaging material which is not particularly easy to fold, but are not necessary in the case of material which is easy to fold.

Diese Lappen 10 bilden bei der fertigen Verpackung 1 dann den oberen Faltverschluß 3.3 to 6 show the creation of a packaging 1 represented in four stages. 3, a blank of the flexible packaging material is placed around an inner mandrel 8 and closed along a longitudinal seam 9. Tabs 10 and 11 are formed on the side walls 2, of which the lower 10 in FIG. 4 are folded onto the inner mandrel 8 and pressed with a heatable sealing tool 12 and thus sealed against one another. These flaps 10 then form the upper folding closure 3 in the finished packaging 1.

After this folding closure 3 has been produced, the sealing tool 12 and the inner mandrel 8 are removed and the filling material is poured into the packaging from the still open, upwardly facing lower end face in a manner not shown. This side is then closed by the transverse seam 4 (Fig. 5). This transverse seam 4 is then - as can be seen in FIG. 6 - placed flat against the end face. The gusset surfaces 5 and 6 are formed, which protrude approximately vertically upwards and are then also placed flat against the end face.
The finished and filled packaging is now upside down, but this is by no means a disadvantage. Rather, a larger number of packages is now placed in a larger outer packaging with the head down.
