Definitions
- the invention relates to a range for kitchen use and the like. with a flexible knife blade and a handle.
- Pallets sometimes also known as glaze or cake knives, have a wide and flexible steel knife blade that can be cranked or cranked and has a fixed handle. Such pallets are used universally in the kitchen area, in particular for smoothing out doughs, glazes, creams and other garnish, as well as cake and cake lifters, for removing sliced baked goods and pies and the like.
- the knife blade which extends relatively far from the handle end, is too flexible and unstable to allow safe and functional handling. This applies, for example, if the palette is to be used to apply and spread small amounts of garnish or glaze material, e.g. on the outer edge of cakes, or if the flexible knife blade is used to process relatively stiff and difficult-to-spread materials Need to become. In these cases, the pallet cannot be handled properly, which often means that pallets with knife blades of different lengths are available.
- the object of the invention is to provide a palette of simple design which is improved in terms of its use properties.
- the handle part of the pallet is adjustable along the knife blade and held or fixable in different setting positions on the knife blade.
- the handle part is preferably provided with a through-opening which receives the knife blade, so that it is guided on the knife blade in the manner of a slide.
- the grip part is designed as a grip sleeve, expediently in the form of a flat sleeve.
- the handle part and the knife blade of the pallet are not fixed, but adjustably connected so that the handle part, seen over the length of the knife blade, can be arranged at different locations on the knife blade, so that the working length by which the knife blade protrudes beyond the handle part, and accordingly the rigidity of the knife blade can be changed.
- the further the knife blade protrudes over the handle part the more flexible and unstable the knife blade is.
- the smaller the knife blade board is compared to the handle part the more stable and stiffer the knife blade, i.e. the working length of the knife blade. This results in significantly improved usage properties for the versatile use of the pallet.
- knife blade With a relatively long and therefore flexible knife blade, this can also be used to coat difficult-to-coat materials and / or to coat garnish or glaze materials and the like. can be used on small surfaces, e.g. on the edge of a cake.
- the invention also opens up the possibility of separating the handle part from the knife blade and both Clean parts separately or attach the handle part to knife blades (knife blades) of different types, for example cranked or non-cranked knife blades or knife blades of different lengths.
- the fixing of the grip part in the different positions on the knife blade is expediently carried out by means of a clamp connection, since no special precautions, such as e.g. the arrangement of connecting elements cooperating with the handle part need to be provided, as e.g. with latch connections or the like. the case would be where locking elements distributed over the length of the knife blade, e.g. Locking grooves, locking openings or the like. for locking cams arranged on the handle part, would have to be arranged.
- the grip part in a preferred embodiment consists of a grip sleeve which surrounds the knife blade and is displaceable on the knife blade.
- the grip sleeve is designed as an elastically deformable clamping sleeve, which rests with clamping only on the edges of the knife blade, the edge clamping being able to be released by gently flattening the clamping sleeve.
- the grip sleeve expediently has an approximately oval or elliptical cross section. In this preferred embodiment of the invention, the clamping fit of the grip sleeve is thus brought about by the inherent elasticity of the grip sleeve.
- the arrangement can be made with a grip sleeve designed as a clamping sleeve so that the grip sleeve or the like with the help of wall recesses. presses elastically against the flat side (s) of the knife blade. In this case, however, the grip sleeve must be moved against the clamping action on the knife blade.
- the handle sleeve on its opposite sides with the edges of the knife blade with clamping grooves or groove-like wall formations or the like. to provide. It would also be conceivable to arrange at least one spring-elastic clamping element on the grip part or on the grip sleeve, which presses against the flat side of the knife blade and thereby causes the clamp fit.
- the grip part or the grip sleeve is expediently made of plastic or steel; she may but also consist of wood, provided that the clamp fit is not caused by the inherent elasticity of the grip part or the grip sleeve, as is provided in the preferred embodiment.
- the knife blade itself can be cranked or cranked.
- the arrangement is expediently such that the grip part or the grip sleeve can optionally be plugged onto one or the other end of the knife blade.
- a suspension element e.g. a simple hanging eyelet or the like can be arranged on the handle part or on the handle sleeve.
- the pallets shown in the drawing according to the invention are intended for household or kitchen use and each consist of a flexible knife blade, which is preferably made of steel or plastic, and a handle part in the form of a handle sleeve.
- the knife blade 1 is designed as a flat, cranked knife blade.
- the grip part consists of a grip sleeve 2 surrounding the knife blade 1, which is designed as a flat sleeve and, as can be seen in FIGS. 1 and 2, has an at least approximately oval or elliptical cross section.
- the grip sleeve 2, which can be plugged onto the knife blade 1 from one end or the other, is made of an elastic material, preferably of plastic or steel. It has sufficient inherent elasticity and consequently forms a clamping sleeve which, due to its elasticity, presses elastically against the two opposite edges 3 and 4 and is thus securely fixed on the knife blade 1 by the edge clamping in the intended position.
- the grip sleeve 2 is only with the two side edges 3rd and 4 of the knife blade 1 in contact and clamping contact. There is sufficient distance between the two opposite flat sides of the knife blade 1 and the grip sleeve 2 so that the grip sleeve 2 can be flattened somewhat by hand pressure against its elastic restoring force, as shown in Fig. 2 at 5 and 6 - somewhat exaggerated for clarification - with a dashed line is shown.
- the edge clamping on the edges 3 and 4 of the knife blade 1 is released, so that the grip sleeve 2 can be moved on the knife blade without any appreciable clamping resistance.
- the force effect when flattening the grip sleeve 2 by the arrows P and the lateral expansion of the grip sleeve under this force effect in the dashed deformation position 5, 6 is indicated by the arrows A.
- the grip sleeve 2 accordingly forms a handle part which can be separated from the knife blade 1 and which, under the aforementioned deformation (flattening), can be attached to the knife blade from one side or the other and fixed in different positions on the knife blade 1 by clamping.
- Fig. 3 shows the grip sleeve 2 at or near one end of the knife blade 1, so that it protrudes over a relatively large length (to the left) over the grip sleeve 2. In this position, the protruding working length of the knife blade 1 has a relatively large flexibility, so that the pallet can advantageously be e.g. can be used to apply and / or spread easily spreadable compositions.
- the grip sleeve 2 on the knife blade 1 it is slightly flattened with the work hand as described above.
- the grip sleeve can then be pushed, for example, into the working position according to FIG. 4 without any significant resistance, where it is released when released their inherent elasticity springs back into the original shape and is thus determined by the edge clamping on the two edges 3 and 4 of the knife blade.
- the length sections 1 'and 1 ⁇ of the knife blade projecting beyond the grip sleeve 2 have smaller working lengths, so that there is greater rigidity of the knife blade 1 at these length sections. In this way, the palette can also be used to process heavily spreadable materials.
- the pallet with a smaller working length of the knife blade 1 can be used for the application and spreading of garnish or glaze masses and the like. use on smaller areas, for example on the circumference of a cake.
- the grip sleeve 2 can be fixed by clamping at any point on the knife blade 1 as required and can also be removed from the knife blade 1 for cleaning purposes, for example.
- 5 to 7 show the same grip sleeve 2 in different positions on a cranked knife blade 1.
- the longitudinal sections of the knife blade 1 which are integrally connected via the crank 7 are designated by 8 and 9.
- the grip sleeve 2 sits with the edge pressure on the shorter length section 9 of the cranked knife blade 1, in the embodiment according to FIGS. 6 and 7, on the other hand, on the longer section 8 of the cranked knife blade 1.
- the change of the grip sleeve 2 from the length section 9 to the length section 8 and vice versa by pulling off the grip sleeve 2 from one length section and plugging the grip sleeve 2 onto the other length section.
- FIG. 8 and 9 show two further embodiments of a pallet according to the invention for use with a cranked or non-cranked knife blade 1.
- a handle sleeve 2 designed as a flat sleeve is used, which is preferably made of an elastic material, such as plastic or steel and on its two broad sides in pairs opposite wall recesses 10, the inwardly directed, pressing against the two flat sides of the knife blade 1 bead projections 11 or the like. form, whereby the grip sleeve 2 is held on the knife blade 1 with clamping.
- a clamping system of the grip sleeve 2 on the two side edges 3 and 4 of the knife blade 1 is not provided here.
- the grip sleeve 2 can be arranged in different positions on the knife blade 1.
- the displacement of the grip sleeve 2 on the knife blade 1 can take place here by overcoming the clamping force.
- this can be done by slightly compressing the clamping sleeve 2 in the transverse direction (ie in the plane of the knife blade 1), which is possible due to the distance between the side surfaces of the handle sleeve 2 and the side edges 3 and 4 of the knife blade 1 is.
- the grip sleeve 2 has grooves or groove-like wall formations 12 on its opposite sides, which receive the two side edges 3 and 4 of the knife blade 1 with clamping.
- These groove-like wall formations can be dimensioned so closely that they are slightly expanded by the edges 3 and 4 of the knife blade 1 when the grip sleeve 2 is attached be, which results in the clamping effect.
- wall impressions or the like on the groove-like wall recesses 12. 8 are provided, which, similar to the wall recesses 10 according to FIG. 8, press elastically against the edge parts of the knife blade and thereby cause the clamp fit.
- FIGS. 1 to 7 with the grip sleeve 2 provided here are characterized by particular simplicity and functional reliability and are therefore preferable to the other embodiments.
- the pallet according to the invention, with its displaceable handle part 2 can also be designed differently from the exemplary embodiments shown.
- a grip part which only partially surrounds the knife blade 1 e.g. an approximately U-shaped handle part is used, which is elastically shaped so that it presses with its two U-legs with clamping against the flat sides of the knife blade 1.
- the handle part could also have at least one spring-loaded clamping member in the form of a clamping strip, a clamping cam or the like. be provided, which causes the clamping fit by elastic pressure against the flat side (s) of the knife blade 1.
Abstract
Description
The invention relates to a range for kitchen use and the like. with a flexible knife blade and a handle.
Pallets, sometimes also known as glaze or cake knives, have a wide and flexible steel knife blade that can be cranked or cranked and has a fixed handle. Such pallets are used universally in the kitchen area, in particular for smoothing out doughs, glazes, creams and other garnish, as well as cake and cake lifters, for removing sliced baked goods and pies and the like. For certain applications, the knife blade, which extends relatively far from the handle end, is too flexible and unstable to allow safe and functional handling.
The object of the invention is to provide a palette of simple design which is improved in terms of its use properties.
This object is achieved in that the handle part of the pallet is adjustable along the knife blade and held or fixable in different setting positions on the knife blade. The handle part is preferably provided with a through-opening which receives the knife blade, so that it is guided on the knife blade in the manner of a slide. This can be accomplished in an advantageous manner in that the grip part is designed as a grip sleeve, expediently in the form of a flat sleeve.
According to the invention, the handle part and the knife blade of the pallet are not fixed, but adjustably connected so that the handle part, seen over the length of the knife blade, can be arranged at different locations on the knife blade, so that the working length by which the knife blade protrudes beyond the handle part, and accordingly the rigidity of the knife blade can be changed. The further the knife blade protrudes over the handle part, the more flexible and unstable the knife blade is. Conversely, the smaller the knife blade board is compared to the handle part, the more stable and stiffer the knife blade, i.e. the working length of the knife blade. This results in significantly improved usage properties for the versatile use of the pallet. With a relatively long and therefore flexible knife blade, this can also be used to coat difficult-to-coat materials and / or to coat garnish or glaze materials and the like. can be used on small surfaces, e.g. on the edge of a cake. The invention also opens up the possibility of separating the handle part from the knife blade and both Clean parts separately or attach the handle part to knife blades (knife blades) of different types, for example cranked or non-cranked knife blades or knife blades of different lengths.
The fixing of the grip part in the different positions on the knife blade is expediently carried out by means of a clamp connection, since no special precautions, such as e.g. the arrangement of connecting elements cooperating with the handle part need to be provided, as e.g. with latch connections or the like. the case would be where locking elements distributed over the length of the knife blade, e.g. Locking grooves, locking openings or the like. for locking cams arranged on the handle part, would have to be arranged. As mentioned, the grip part in a preferred embodiment consists of a grip sleeve which surrounds the knife blade and is displaceable on the knife blade. In a preferred embodiment of the invention, the grip sleeve is designed as an elastically deformable clamping sleeve, which rests with clamping only on the edges of the knife blade, the edge clamping being able to be released by gently flattening the clamping sleeve. The grip sleeve expediently has an approximately oval or elliptical cross section. In this preferred embodiment of the invention, the clamping fit of the grip sleeve is thus brought about by the inherent elasticity of the grip sleeve.
On the other hand, the arrangement can be made with a grip sleeve designed as a clamping sleeve so that the grip sleeve or the like with the help of wall recesses. presses elastically against the flat side (s) of the knife blade. In this case, however, the grip sleeve must be moved against the clamping action on the knife blade.
Furthermore, there is the possibility of the handle sleeve on its opposite sides with the edges of the knife blade with clamping grooves or groove-like wall formations or the like. to provide. It would also be conceivable to arrange at least one spring-elastic clamping element on the grip part or on the grip sleeve, which presses against the flat side of the knife blade and thereby causes the clamp fit.
The grip part or the grip sleeve is expediently made of plastic or steel; she may but also consist of wood, provided that the clamp fit is not caused by the inherent elasticity of the grip part or the grip sleeve, as is provided in the preferred embodiment. As is known, the knife blade itself can be cranked or cranked. The arrangement is expediently such that the grip part or the grip sleeve can optionally be plugged onto one or the other end of the knife blade. On the handle part or on the handle sleeve, a suspension element, e.g. a simple hanging eyelet or the like can be arranged.

The pallets shown in the drawing according to the invention are intended for household or kitchen use and each consist of a flexible knife blade, which is preferably made of steel or plastic, and a handle part in the form of a handle sleeve.
In the embodiment according to FIGS. 1 to 4, the
The
To move the
In the embodiment according to FIG. 9, the
The embodiments shown in FIGS. 1 to 7 with the
