Description

The subject of the present invention is an installation for repairing and inspecting bodies of damaged vehicles.

It is known, to carry out the repair of bodies of damaged vehicles, to use a marble consisting of a rectangular frame obtained from metal profiles, with mounting of intermediate spacers between the two longitudinal profiles. On the marble can be fixed clamps for anchoring the body of the vehicle to be repaired, as well as sleepers which receive fixtures for positive type repairs and control and measuring devices. Such an installation, the characteristics of which correspond to the preamble of claim 1, is described for example in document EP-A-0 209 501.

Generally, a marble rests on feet or on wheels allowing its movement inside a workshop. There is, however, a problem which has not been satisfactorily resolved to date, consisting in the loading of an accident vehicle onto the marble, and in its unloading after repair, these operations being all the more delicate. that the floor is equipped with clamps for fixing the underbody of the vehicle and that a vehicle damaged from the front is difficult to drive.

Some installations include a rectangular chassis fitted at one end with a lifting device capable of moving this end between the ground and a position in which it is at the same height as the other end, the chassis being fitted over its entire length of rolling platforms for the vehicle, and two ramps removably attached to the vertically movable end. However, these installations have the drawback of not allowing easy loading onto the platforms of a vehicle whose front axle is damaged. In addition, the presence of the platforms is inconvenient for the operator as well as for the mounting of the vehicle fixing clamps and of the accessories used to straighten it.

The present invention aims to remedy these drawbacks.

To this end, the installation that it concerns, of the type comprising a marble constituted by a generally rectangular frame equipped:
  • near one of its ends, fixed support means, such as feet or wheels, and near its other end of a lifting device capable of vertically moving this other end between a position in which it is in support on the ground and a position in which it is at least the same height as the first end,
  • two ramps fixed removably at the end of the vertically movable marble,
is characterized in that it is further equipped:
  • platforms fixed on the upper face of the marble in line with the ramps and extending from the end of the marble, which can be moved vertically in an area without clamps for fixing the vehicle, and
  • a carriage intended to receive the front axle of the vehicle to be repaired, movable longitudinally between a position in which it is situated against the platforms and a position in which it is situated at the other end of the chassis.

In practice, to carry out the loading of a vehicle on the marble, it is advisable to proceed as follows: The end of the vertically movable marble is placed on the ground and equipped with ramps, the vehicle anchoring clamps are removed, and the carriage is disposed against the platforms. The vehicle is then moved, autonomously if its condition allows, or using a winch, until its front axle is on the trolley. The carriage is then moved to the other end of the chassis, thus ensuring the loading of the vehicle onto the platform.

It is then possible to remove the ramps and activate the elevator to bring the marble into the working position. Unloading a vehicle is done in reverse.

Advantageously, the platforms, fixed to the chassis from the rear end thereof, are perforated and the openings which they comprise have dimensions such that they allow the passage of support members, such as candles.

According to one embodiment, each platform is constituted by a frame equipped with bars transverse to the axis of the chassis.

This arrangement makes it possible, after having brought the end of the vertically movable chassis above the working position, to make support on points of the chassis or of the suspension close to the rear of the vehicle, support members such as candles. The elevator is then actuated to lower the chassis which separates from the rear of the vehicle which for its part remains supported by the jack stands. The operator can therefore, if necessary, remove the rear wheels from the vehicle. It can also mount and position, precisely on the chassis, the clamps for fixing the vehicle body. Then simply reassemble the chassis until the clamps support the body. The candles are removed and the platforms, fixed on the chassis, can possibly also be removed.

If the front wheels of the vehicle have to be removed, the same procedure is followed with the use of jack stands located closer to the front of the vehicle.

De préférence, le chariot comprend un cadre rectangulaire de longueur au moins égale à la largeur de voie maximale des véhicules à réparer et de largeur sensiblement inférieure au diamètre des roues des véhicules, équipé de deux séries de roulettes prenant appui, respectivement, sur la face supérieure du marbre et sur les faces extérieures de celui-ci.Preferably, the carriage comprises a rectangular frame of length at least equal to the maximum track width of the vehicles to be repaired and of width substantially less than the diameter of the wheels of the vehicles, equipped with two series of rollers bearing, respectively, on the face top of the marble and on the outside of it.

In practice, the vehicle wheels are housed between the two longitudinal sections of the carriage where they are locked due to the weight of the vehicle. The carriage is moved using a manual or electric winch.

According to an alternative embodiment of this installation, the platforms fixed on the upper face of the marble in the extension of the ramps are constituted by a second carriage, intended to receive the rear wheels of the vehicle to be repaired, and equipped with locking means. on the one hand on the end of the base equipped with ramps and on the other hand on the first carriage intended to receive the front wheels of the vehicle.

Before loading the vehicle, the rear end of the plate is in the low position, the ramps are in place, and the two adjoining carriages, integral with one another, are fixed to the rear end of the plate. The vehicle is moved until its front wheels are positioned on the first carriage after driving on the second carriage. The first carriage is unlocked from the plate and the second carriage, then moved forward, for example using a winch, by driving the vehicle in this movement. When the rear wheels arrive in the second carriage, the latter is unlocked from the base, and the vehicle can then be moved thereon via the two carriages, until it occupies the desired position. The first carriage is then locked onto the base, then the rear of the latter is lifted, prior to the installation of jack stands in front of the second carriage, with a view to a sequence of operations described above.

Near its rear end, the marble is fitted with a lifting device 10 comprising a carriage 12 fitted with rollers 13, oriented longitudinally to the marble, near one of the ends of which is mounted, articulated around a horizontal axis , an arm 14 whose free end is clamped on a cross 4, the actuation of a jack 15 mounted between the carriage and the arm ensuring vertical displacement of the rear end of the marble.

The rear end of the marble 2 is removably equipped with two inclined ramps 16 making it possible to bring, by rolling it, a vehicle from the workshop floor to the level of the upper face of the marble.

The marble is also equipped, in the extension of the ramps 16 and from its rear end, with platforms 17, two in number on each side of the marble, in the embodiment shown in FIG. 1.

Each platform 17 is constituted by a tubular frame 18 inside which are mounted transverse bars 19. The mounting of the platforms 17 is illustrated in FIG. 5 which shows that each platform 17 comprises fingers 20 engaged in holes 9 in the chassis, the horizontality of each platform being adjusted by fingers 22 horizontal and of adjustable length, bearing on the external face of the chassis. It is therefore very easy to set up and remove the platforms.

In front of the platforms 17, the chassis 3 is equipped in a manner known per se, and on each of its outer faces, with two longitudinally adjustable supports 23 intended for mounting threaded rods 24 carrying the clamps 25 for fixing the rocker panel of a vehicle.

The originality of each support 23 lies in the fact that it is constituted by a stirrup-shaped part open towards the outside, and closable by a plate 26, which allows immediate assembly and disassembly of the assembly. screws 24 - pliers 25, without having to remove the fixing and adjusting nuts of the screw on the support.

In accordance with another characteristic of the invention, the marble is equipped with a carriage 27 intended to receive the front axle of the vehicle to be repaired, movable longitudinally on the upper face of the marble between a position in which it is adjacent to the platforms 17 and a position in which it is located at the front of the plate.

This carriage 27 is constituted by a rectangular frame, of length (considered in the transverse direction to the marble) at least equal to the maximum track width of the vehicles to be repaired and of width substantially less than the diameter of the wheels of the vehicles, equipped with two series of casters 28, 29 bearing, respectively, on the upper face of the marble and on the outside of it.

This carriage 27 is equipped with locking means constituted by two locking fingers 30 intended to be engaged in two of the holes 9 that the marble 2 comprises. These fingers are actuated vertically by two rods 32 each comprising a light 33 in which is engaged a finger 34 secured to the link, these links being locked in rotation on a horizontal axis 35, actuable in rotation by a lever 36.

The front end of the plate is detachably equipped with a winch 37 which, in the embodiment shown in the drawing, is manual.

The operation of this installation is as follows.

Since the marble is in the position shown in FIG. 2, that is to say the rear end lowered, carriage 27 against the platforms 17 and ramps 16 put in place, the vehicle is moved independently or using the winch 37 until the front wheels of the latter come into engagement with the carriage 27, as shown in FIG. 2.

The actuation of the winch results in the vehicle being mounted on the base, with movement of the carriage 27 in the direction of the front thereof.

L'actionnement du vérin 15 permet alors d'élever l'extrémité postérieure du marbre, mouvement au cours duquel les rampes 16 se désolidarisent de celui-ci.When the vehicle is fully loaded on the base, the carriage 27 is locked by the fingers 30. The actuation of the jack 15 then makes it possible to raise the rear end of the base, movement during which the ramps 16 separate from it.

It is then possible, if necessary, to position a candle 38, so that the rod 39 of the latter passes through an opening of a platform 17, and comes to bear under a member located near the rear end of the vehicle, such as a wheel shaft, as shown in Figure 7.

By causing the rear end of the floor to lower, as shown in Figure 8, there is a gap between the rear wheels and the floor and between the vehicle body and the floor. The rear wheels of the vehicle can be removed, and the screw 24 - clamp 25 assemblies precisely positioned on the supports 23, depending on the type of vehicle to be repaired. A vertical movement upwards of the marble allows, as shown in FIG. 9, the support of the vehicle by the clamps 25. At this time, it is possible to remove the candles 38 as well as the platforms 17, making it possible in this part of the marble, the mounting of a traction bracket to straighten the bodywork in this area, if necessary.

As shown in FIG. 9, the base rests, in the working position, not only on its front legs 35, but on the rear legs 36. The unloading of the vehicle is carried out in the reverse manner.

It is also possible, by placing the jack stands or other support members differently, to disassemble the front wheels after several successive actuations of the plate vertically.

The installation shown in Figure 10 is an alternative embodiment of the previous installation, in which the same elements are designated by the same references as above.

The rectified metal plates 8 visible in FIGS. 10 and 11 serve to guide two carriages, namely a first carriage 118 intended to receive the front wheels of the vehicle and a second carriage 119 intended to receive the rear wheels of the vehicle. Each carriage is mounted on the base via several series of rollers, each series comprising a roller 120 with a horizontal axis resting on the upper face of the corresponding plate 8, and a roller 122 with a vertical axis resting on the outer side face of the same plate.

In a variant, represented in FIG. 15, the carriages 118, 119 roll not directly on the plates 8, but on raceways 117a fixed on crosspieces 117b positioned in the orifices 9 of the plates 8.

Each of the two carriages 118,119 is equipped, in the areas to receive the wheels of a vehicle, with plates 123 forming a very open V, these plates playing the role of ramps during loading and unloading operations of the vehicle and stalling it. ci in the carriage when moving the carriage considered on the plate.

As shown in Figures 10 and 11, the carriage 118 is equipped on its front face with two locking means on the plate. Each locking means consists of a metal block 124 slidably mounted on a rod 125 oriented transversely to the marble, the block 124 also serving for articulation around a vertical axis of a branch of a piece 126 in the form of stirrup, the other branch of which is intended to be engaged in a hole in the marble. The combination of the movement of translation of the block 124 on the rod 125, and of rotation of the part 126 allows always to achieve an excellent locking of the carriage 118 on the base, even if the position of the carriage is not very precisely fixed.

On its rear face, the carriage 118 is equipped with two hooks 127 articulated around horizontal axes, intended to hook the carriage 118 onto the carriage 119. For this purpose the carriage 119 is equipped, as shown more particularly in FIGS. 10 13, a flap 128 in the general shape of a U, the branches of which are divergent and capable of covering respectively and partially the upper and lower walls of the carriage 119. This flap 128 is articulated by its central part around an axis 129 located on the front of the trolley at the bottom of it. The flap 128 finally has a finger 130 transverse to the marble, intended to cooperate with a hook 127 of the carriage 118. The rear end of the marble is equipped with two sections 132 each of which has a lug 133 turned backwards and downwards , intended to come to engage in a yoke 134 fixed on the front face of the ramp 16, a lug 135 forming a stop for the carriages 118 and 119 so that the latter cannot escape the marble when the latter is in the inclined position, and a recess 136 forming a keeper, inside of which is intended to penetrate a pivoting finger 137 in order to lock the second carriage 119 at the rear of the plate.

As shown in Figure 14, each front leg 5 of the marble is equipped with a roller 138 mounted on a ball bushing with the possibility of sliding along an axis 139 of transverse orientation to the marble. To obtain a transverse adjustment latitude for the marble, it is also advisable to mount the elevator so that it can be moved transversely. To this end, the arm 14 of the elevator is in the embodiment shown in FIG. 15, articulated on the axis of a support 140 mounted with the interposition of carrier balls 142 on the rear crossmember 4 of the installation. .

In the embodiment shown in Figure 16, the upper end of the lifting device is equipped with a bushing 143 of transverse orientation to the marble, engaged on an axis 144 of the same orientation, secured to a yoke 145 fixed on the rear crossmember 4 of the marble.

The rear of the marble being lowered and equipped with ramps 16, the carriage 119 is fixed to the rear of the marble , and the carriage 118 is fixed to the carriage 119. When the wheels of the vehicle are positioned on the carriage 118, the latter is moved forward, for example using the winch 146. During this movement, the hooks 127 exert a traction on the finger 130 resulting in a pivoting of the flap 128 upwards, as shown in FIG. 13, and by the separation of the two carriages. When the vehicle wheels arrive on the rear carriage 119, the flap 128 playing the role of safety stop, this carriage is unlocked in order to allow the vehicle to advance to the desired position. The installation is then used in the various ways described above. When the vehicle is unloaded, the process is carried out in reverse, the hooks 127 ensuring the tilting of the flaps 128 from the position shown in FIG. 13 to that shown in FIG. 12.
