Description

The invention relates to a lid for producing a container having at least one bung with a preferably cylindrical body, the lower end of which can be connected tightly and firmly to the bottom with a bottom and the upper end to the lid, the lid being provided for connection to the body Has an edge, which is followed by a short jacket area provided for engagement in the fuselage and enclosing the top surface, and the top surface of which has filling openings, the edges of which can be connected to a connection piece, and the peripheral regions thereof which move out of the top surface of the lid into a plane normal to its vertical axis are pressed.

In such containers, lids with cover surfaces which have just been constructed are usually used; The disadvantage here is that such just executed lids easily deform and are deformed owing to relatively small, external forces remaining ugly. In the case of containers of smaller size, for example cans or containers for small amounts of lacquer or paint, but also foodstuffs, circular beads of shallow depth are embossed into the bases of the floors and the lid in order to stabilize these bases. In the case of larger containers, in particular drums, lids with slightly convex cambered top surfaces are preferably used, which have an advantageously increased section modulus against deformation. However, it is unpleasant that it is noticeable that flanges or connecting pieces of closures, for example welded-in flanges or connecting pieces of closures, which are usually introduced on opposite sides of one another and have diverging axes. Furthermore, it has been shown with bung drums that their complete emptying is problematic: when emptying via suction pipes of pumps, these generally become a final puddle are not able to absorb in the bottom area, and when trying to empty them completely by pouring out, significant quantities, for example a liquid, cannot be removed either.

It was already recommended in DE-A 1 37 06 581 not to press, screw or weld conventional flanges of a bung with the lid of a bung barrel, but rather to use sockets with an attachment approximately the length of the sheet thickness of the lid reach through the filling opening and, preferably by means of a laser weld, are connected to the lid. Such nozzles do not protrude into the interior of the container like most flanges, but rather close practically smoothly with the inner surface of the lid, so that any pouring out is facilitated and can be carried out relatively largely.

Nachteilig macht sich doch hierbei bemerkbar, daß beim Abfließen der Reste zwei Öffnungen des Fasses zu unterfangen sind und mindestens bereichsweise abfließende Inhaltsreste kein den Ablauf beschleunigendes Gefälle finden.DE-U-86 28 268 shows a barrel suitable for extensive residual emptying, in which the pumping out is supported by a depression provided in the bottom area. For the actual residual emptying by turning inside out, the central area of the cover lying between the bumps is curved inwards, while the edge areas of the connecting pieces are raised obliquely upwards. The disadvantage here is that when the residues flow off, two openings in the barrel have to be underpinned and that at least some of the residues draining away find no gradient that accelerates the process.

The invention is therefore based on the task of creating a lid of the generic type for a container, in particular a barrel, which can be emptied quickly and practically completely through only one of the filling openings, if necessary, by simply placing it on its lid or its edge regions.

This object is achieved with the features of patent claim 1. Pressing the edge areas surrounding the filling openings in planes which are normal or perpendicular to the vertical axis of the cover already makes it easier to weld in the sealing stub which does not protrude inwards, and by means of the Pushing through one of these edge regions forms a type of funnel which surrounds the filling opening and which largely or completely Emptying of the container favors, while pushing the edge area assigned to the second filling opening downward and inward forms a truncated cone-shaped elevation after the barrel has been turned over, from which the remaining contents of the barrel can drain off quickly, so that the desired rapid, practically complete emptying of the barrel is guaranteed.

In Figures 1 and 2, a cover 1 is shown in vertical section and in plan view, which is provided for the manufacture of a bung. From an edge 2 used to establish the connection by in particular folding and / or welding with the body of the sheet pile, a jacket region 3 of low height extends downwards, which is provided for engaging in the body of the sheet pile to be formed and both the seat of the cover secure as well as stabilize the upper edge of the shell of the fuselage. The jacket area 3 is followed by a cover surface 10, which can be cambered for reasons of stability and dimensional stability, and into which filling openings 6 and 8 are incorporated, for example punched out, for receiving sockets or flanges of the container closures or bung from which have the filling opening 6 with a larger diameter of, for example, 2 "and the filling opening 8 with a smaller diameter of, for example, 3/4". In order to be able to weld the spigot of the insignificant cantilever into the container with little effort and with certainty, the filling openings 6 and 8 enclosing surface areas 5 and 7 are pressed normal to the vertical axis of the cover 1 from its possibly the cambered cover surface 12. This results in transition regions, which are essentially frustoconical in shape, although, as can be seen in particular in FIG. 1, the surface line adjacent to 9 and thus pointing outwards is longer than the inward opposite surface line. On the other hand, there is also the possibility of shaping the surface lines of the same length and of allowing them to run out into the optionally cambered top surface 10 with different slopes.

When the ring-shaped edge regions 5 and 7 are pressed out, it proves essential that these pressed-out edge regions are directed normal or perpendicular to the vertical axis of the cover 1. The basic form itself can be changed significantly. It is thus possible to design the indentations leading to the edge regions 5 or 7 deeper or to press these edge regions 5 or 7 more strongly. The surface areas having the filling openings do not necessarily have to be annular, they can also have the shape of regular polygons or ellipses, without their configuration being limited to strictly detectable geometric shapes. It is also possible to design transition regions, for example transition region 9, for example in the shape of a truncated pyramid.

In all of these cases, it is first achieved that the additional deformation to obtain the normal standing edge regions 5 and 7 further stabilizes the top surface 10 of the lid 1 or is equipped with a higher resistance to deformation, which results both from the reinforcing shape itself and also due to the material hardening achieved during cold forming. In any case, however, the axially normal surface areas 5 and 7 result in axially parallel arrangements of the nozzles after the welding of the nozzles into the filling openings, and the conical elevations shown in FIG. 1 result in funnel-shaped depressions which promote emptying after a barrel has been moved onto its lid , so that even with conventional flanges, pipe lugs and the like protruding into the interior of the container, the funnel effect results in more extensive emptying than previously possible.

To favor the complete emptying, the lid 1 of FIGS. 1 and 2 to a ring zone 4 preferably along the circumference and the same width, this ring zone may run within a plane normal to the axis axis, but preferably towards the vertical axis of the cover, not shown, ie in a radial direction Direction increases slightly, for example by 0.5 ° to 5 °, so that when the barrel having such a lid is rotated by 180 ° for the purpose of emptying, this ring zone has an inward slope towards the top surface 10.

On one side, the ring zone 4 is adjoined by the edge region 5, which is arranged essentially horizontally and which surrounds the filling opening 6, into which the nozzle of a bung closure is welded during further processing of the cover 1. The edge region 5 is thus at the same level as the inner boundary 15 of this ring zone, which terminates the ring zone 4 and which is indicated by a short cross line as well as the opposite end of the edge region 5 and further zone ends.

From the edge area 5 and the adjacent inner boundary 15 of the ring zone 4, the main cover surface 10, which closes the base of the cover 1, extends with a slope directed towards the inner boundary of the opposite regions of the ring zone 4, which is at least 0.2 °, better 0.5 ° to 5 °. Since the end of the top surface 10 facing the opposite edge region of the ring zone 4 is at a lower level than the inner boundary 15 of the ring zone, this level rises again via a transition zone 9 to this inner boundary. In the areas in which the top surface 10 and the transition zone 9 merge, another horizontal edge area 6 is embossed, which has the filling opening 8, the diameter of which is smaller than that of the filling opening 6 Welded socket, so that it then shows the usual bung with 2 "and 3/4" diameter.

Since the cover is stamped from a sheet metal blank, correspondingly shaped transition areas result; for example, the transition zone 9, as the top view in FIG. 2 shows, enclose the top surface 10 approximately moon-shaped and show the maximum of their width in the deeper areas shown on the right in the drawing and decrease their width toward both legs.

To increase stability and durability, the top surface has a slightly convex design. In order not to interfere with the emptying, care must be taken here that each section of the cambered top surface 11, which has different inclinations, runs with a slope. According to FIG. 1, this was achieved in that the cover surface 10 was guided essentially along a degree 16 intersecting the centers of the filling openings 6 and 8. In the case of the cambered top surface 11 of FIG. 3, this begins in the regions of this top surface adjoining the edge region 5 with an inclination, if only slight, which is correspondingly increased to the right in the drawing by the cambering. It is also possible, as shown, not to keep the curvature radii of the curvature constant, but to shorten them to the right. Furthermore, the edge region 5, which has the larger of the filling openings 6, is pushed upward beyond the plane described by the ring zone 4. Here it is also possible to have the surface areas merge into the actual top surface with surface lines of different lengths. This ensures that after rotating the container by 180 ° and placing the same on its lid or its edge areas, there are practically exclusively sloping surfaces which are inclined towards the large of the filling openings 6 and thus towards the larger of the connecting pieces to be attached. Liquids, but also fillers with a higher viscosity, can be emptied completely by simply turning the barrel through 180 °. This is supported by the second, smaller filling opening, which is in the normal position of the barrel is at a lower level and, in the opposite position, is at a higher level: here, after opening the closure, the air filling the container can easily penetrate without being disturbed by the remaining contents or allowing it to escape a second time. In this way, on the one hand, the residual emptying is optimally promoted, but on the other hand it is also largely facilitated. The effort required for this is only moderate, since the cover surface has to be pressed out of the blank anyway and the additional shaping can be carried out without any significant additional effort or labor, and at the same time brings about an advantageous increase in the section modulus of the cover.

Another variant is explained with reference to FIGS. 4 and 5, which are provided with the already known reference numbers, so that a basic description is unnecessary. It is found to be essential, however, that a bead 14 adjoining the inner boundary of the ring zone 4 is additionally embossed. This bead begins on the right side of the drawing at approximately the level of the inner boundary 15 of the ring zone 4 and then rises with its apex so that it opens wide into this surface area at the level of the edge region 5 of the filling opening 6.

In this way, the following is achieved: after the barrel has been placed on its lid for complete emptying thereof, the ring zone 4 drops in the direction of the subsequent bead 14, which after its reversal proves to be a gutter. This channel surrounds the entire inner boundary 15 of the ring zone 4 with a slope towards the opposite edge surface 5 and opens into it and is thus able to supply the entire liquid collected to the filling opening 7. The edge region 6, in FIG. 4 pointing downwards, ie into the interior of the container later, after elevation of the barrel turns out to be an elevation from which the contents of the container are exposed the top surface 13 or over the bead 14 which now forms a groove.

The top surface 13 itself can be flat, and it can be either convex or concave. There is also the possibility, in the region of the straight line 16, of guiding the top surface along a straight line connecting the facing ends of the surface regions 5 and 7, the top surface 13 being able to be designed as a gradient-containing plane or as cylindrical or can be arched elliptically so that this line appears as a generatrix. Furthermore, it is also possible to put together any curvatures, for example by introducing a first cylindrical curvature when the surface of the cover surface is formed, the axis of which extends parallel to the straight line 16 and which is overlaid by a second curvature, the axis of which lies within the plane of the drawing the straight line 16 runs parallel to other vertical lines. It is also possible to use unequal radii of curvature for the two orthogonal curvatures, and it is also possible to vary the radii of curvature of a curvature along the circumference formed, so that not only arcuate curvatures are achieved. Furthermore, it is even possible to make one of the curvatures convex and the other concave in addition to one or more of these curvature features. It is only important that a slope is achieved in each case at least on the groove formed by the bead 14 or on the funnel formed around the surface area 5. A complete emptying of a bung barrel equipped with such a lid can thus be achieved without having to forego the often desired crowning of the lid. The extensive or complete emptiness that can be achieved here with only a few additional measures not only allows the content to use a container practically completely, cleaning work of a container will be made considerably easier if it is to be used again, and in any case the disposal problems when decommissioning such a container are advantageously reduced to a considerable extent.
