Description

The invention relates to a motor vehicle headlight with an annular light bulb holder in the central opening of which a light bulb is inserted from the rear of the headlight, with a U-shaped retaining spring made of spring wire, which with the web connecting the legs of its U-shape between at least one in the direction of insertion of the incandescent lamp open bearing surface and at least one nose of the incandescent lamp holder pointing towards an incandescent lamp base is rotatably mounted about the longitudinal axis of the web between two end positions and in an end position with the free end section of at least one leg engages behind an undercut of the incandescent lamp holder and thereby with both legs presses a base flange of the incandescent lamp against an edge region of the opening of the incandescent lamp holder and bears against a stop of the incandescent lamp holder in the other end position.

Such a known headlight for vehicles is shown in Figure 1 and Figure 2 of the drawing. The incandescent lamp holder attached to the reflector (not shown) is sleeve-shaped and manufactured by injection molding or die casting. The incandescent lamp is inserted from the rear of the headlight into a central opening in the base of the incandescent lamp holder and, with its flange, lies against the floor area surrounding the opening. On the opposite side of the flange facing the direction of insertion of the bulb, one leg of the U-shaped retaining spring made of spring wire bears against each other on opposite sides under pretension. One leg of the U-shaped retaining spring is longer and engages with its free end portion behind the edge of an opening of the bulb holder.

The web connecting the legs of the retaining spring is arranged in a cross-sectionally U-shaped projection of the incandescent lamp holder, the U-shape of which opens towards the base. The facing inner surfaces of the U-shaped projection each have a step, the abutting surface facing the direction of insertion of the incandescent lamp serves as a bearing surface for the web of the retaining spring connecting the legs. A hook-shaped nose is formed on the U-shaped shoulder in the middle between the two bearing surfaces and forms the counter bearing for the retaining spring. The hook-shaped nose is so long in the light exit direction of the headlight that the retaining spring is held securely in its pivot bearing. When inserting the retaining spring, its legs must be pressed together by hand so far that the web connecting the legs describes such an arc until it reaches under the nose. Such an assembly is very cumbersome and time consuming. Therefore, the retaining spring can only be assembled simply and easily by hand and not in mass production.

The object of the invention is to improve the pivot bearing of the incandescent lamp holder and the retaining spring of the headlamp described in the generic term in such a way that the retaining spring can be easily and quickly installed both by hand and automatically. It should continue to be securely fixable in the bulb holder by the retaining spring and the retaining spring and the bulb holder should be inexpensive to manufacture. This object is achieved according to the invention by the following features:
  • the web of the retaining spring connecting the legs has at least one bulge directed opposite the leg of the retaining spring,
  • the bulge is designed in size and shape in such a way that it swings into its fastening position under the nose.

When the U-shaped retaining spring is inserted, its legs are approximately radial to the axis of the incandescent lamp, point outwards and are rotated by an angle of 180 ° with respect to their end position. In this position, the retaining spring is fed to the swivel bearing by hand or automatically until its web rests on the bearing surface. The retaining spring is then pivoted into its end position about the pivot axis.

In an advantageous development of the invention, the bulge is introduced centrally into the web of the retaining spring connecting the legs, and the sections of the web adjoining the bulge are in each case in contact with a bearing surface of the incandescent lamp holder. In another advantageous development, a bulge is introduced into the web of the holding spring adjacent to the legs of the holding spring, and the middle portion of the web lies against a bearing surface of the incandescent lamp holder. In the two possible embodiments, it is also advantageous if the nose has such a size and shape that it projects into the bulge of the web of the retaining spring in any position of the desired pivoting range of the retaining spring and projects beyond it and the bearing surface of the bulb holder for the retaining spring a slit opening across the back of the headlamp is formed. As a result, the retaining spring can be pivoted smoothly and smoothly in both embodiments.

A further advantage is that of the bulge in the desired pivoting range of the retaining spring Underneath section of the nose is formed by a cylindrical outer surface section running approximately concentrically to the pivot axis of the retaining spring, the radius of which corresponds approximately to the depth of the bulge and the width of the nose approximately corresponds to the width of the bulge. As a result, the retaining spring on the pivot bearing is rotatably held with very little play.

In addition, it is advantageous if the side surface facing away from the incandescent lamp base is made higher from the side surfaces of the slots, in which the retaining spring is rotatably mounted. When mounting the retaining spring, the higher side surfaces serve as a stop for the web connecting the two legs.

It is also advantageous if a wall extends radially outward from the top of the nose, the end face of which merges into a run-up slope for the bulge of the retaining spring. Here, the retaining spring has such a position when it is inserted that the wall connected to the nose is arranged in the bulge and thus serves as a guide for the retaining spring.

Further expedient embodiments according to the invention are explained in patent claims 10 to 14.

The known incandescent lamp holder (1 ') shown in Figure 1 and Figure 2 is sleeve-shaped and made of die-cast. The bulb (2 ') with its glass bulb is inserted from the rear of the bulb holder into the central opening (3') of the base of the bulb holder until the flange (4 ') surrounding the bulb base on the one surrounding the opening (3') Floor area rests. A U-shaped retaining spring (5 ') made of spring wire rests on opposite sides of the flange (4') under prestress. The web (7 ') connecting the legs (6') of the U-shaped retaining spring is mounted on the incandescent lamp holder (1 ') so as to be pivotable about the pivot axis. The swivel bearing is formed by a hook-shaped nose (8 ') which opens in the light exit direction and by two bearing surfaces (9') which are open in the direction of insertion of the incandescent lamp. The web (7 ') of the U-shaped retaining spring (5') lies on the two bearing surfaces (9 ') with one end section each. The two bearing surfaces (9 ') are each formed by an abutting surface of a step of opposing walls (10') and extend at an acute angle to the main extension of the retaining spring (5 '). The hook-shaped nose (8 ') is so long that the web (7') connecting the legs (6 ') of the U-shaped retaining spring (5') only then between the nose (8 ') and the two bearing surfaces (9 ') can be used if the two legs (6') of the U-shaped retaining spring (5 ') are pressed together and the web (7') bends sufficiently large until it reaches under the nose. One of the two legs (6 ') of the U-shaped retaining spring (5 ') is longer and engages behind the edge of an opening of the incandescent lamp holder (1') with an angled end section (11 ').

The differences of the incandescent lamp holder (1) according to the invention shown in FIGS. 3, 4, 5 and 6 compared to the known incandescent lamp holder (1 ') described above are described below. The U-shaped retaining spring (5) has a bulge in the middle of its web (7) connecting the two legs (6), which bulge opens towards the base of the incandescent lamp (2). The bulge (15, 16) is U-shaped. Adjacent to this U-shaped section (15, 16) of the retaining spring, the web (7) bears against two bearing surfaces (9) which are formed by slots in the incandescent lamp holder (1) which open towards the rear of the headlight. A nose (8) pointing towards the bulb base is arranged between these slots. The nose (8) has a cylindrical lateral surface section (14) which runs concentrically to the swivel axis and partly faces the light exit opening of the headlight. The radius of the cylindrical lateral surface section (14) corresponds approximately to the distance from the pivot axis (12) to the inside of the web (15) of the U-shaped section of the retaining spring (5). The thickness of the nose (8) corresponds approximately to the distance between the two legs (16) of the U-shaped section of the retaining spring (5). A shoulder (17) serving as a stop is molded onto the cylindrical lateral surface section, which is a stop and a latching device for the retaining spring (5). The surface of the extension (17), which faces the incandescent lamp, merges continuously into the cylindrical outer surface section (14) of the nose (8). This makes it possible for the web (15) connecting the legs (16) of the U-shaped section of the retaining spring (5) to slide over the shoulder (17) when the retaining spring (5) is being fitted. The approach (17) serving as a stop and the approach (18) form a latching mark for the Retaining spring (5). The web (7) connecting the legs (6) of the U-shaped retaining spring (5) is arranged between two walls (19) running transversely to it. The wall (22) connected to the nose (8) has the run-on slope (23) on the side facing away from the incandescent lamp.

In der Befestigungsposition der Haltefeder (5) hintergreifen die zu Ösen gebogenen Endabschnitte (11) der Schenkei (6) die hakenförmigen Hinterschneidungen (26) des Glühlampenhalters (1).When mounting the U-shaped retaining spring (1), it is fed to the pivot bearing with its web (7) connecting the two legs (6) and rotated by 180 ° in the direction (24) relative to its end position. The middle web (15) of the U-shaped section of the retaining spring strikes the run-up slope (23) of the wall (22) and is guided through this wall, since the retaining spring (5) is in the appropriate position in the U-shaped section protrudes. The two walls (19) running parallel to the legs (6) of the retaining spring (5) serve as a threading aid, and the walls (20) adjacent to the bulb socket serve as a stop for the sections of the web of the U- adjacent to the legs (6). shaped retaining spring. The web (7) then lies against the bearing surfaces (9) and the nose (8) protrudes into the U-shaped section of the retaining spring (5) (see FIG. 5). Then the holding spring (5) is pivoted in the direction (25) about the pivot axis (12) until the web (15) of the U-shaped section of the holding spring (5) serves as a stop (17) of the nose (8). engages behind. As a result, the retaining spring (5) is held captively in the pivot bearing. After the retaining spring (5) has engaged, the legs of the retaining spring run approximately parallel to the axis of the incandescent lamp. Thus, the retaining spring does not prevent the bulb from being changed. In the fastening position of the retaining spring (5), the end sections (11) of the leg (6) bent into eyelets engage behind the hook-shaped undercuts (26) of the incandescent lamp holder (1).
