Abstract
Description
- Die vorliegende Erfindung betrifft Gleitmittel, die einfach und/oder mehrfach ringgeöffnete, epoxidierte Fette und Öle, Fettsäureester, Alkohole und Olefine enthalten sowie die Verwendung der Gleitmittel als Faserhilfsmittel in Präparationen zur Herstellung von synthetischen Filamenten.
- Für die Herstellung und Weiterverarbeitung von synthetischen Fasern und Filamenten ist der Einsatz von Chemiefaserhilfsmitteln erforderlich, deren Aufgabe darin besteht, den Fasern und Filamenten die für deren Herstellung und Weiterverarbeitung erforderlichen Eigenschaften wie Glätte, Antistatik und Fadenschlußvermögen zu verleihen. Derartige Präparationsmittel bestehen üblicherweise aus Gemischen von verschiedenen chemischen Substanzen. Hauptbestandteil in diesen Präparationsmitteln sind normalerweise Gleitmittel.
- In der Vergangenheit wurden als Gleitmittel üblicherweise Mineralöle verschiedener Zusammensetzungen und Viskositäten oder Esteröle verschiedener Struktur oder Mischungen aus beiden eingesetzt.
- Die Entwicklung von Schnellspinn- bzw. Spinnstreckverfahren für Filamente und Stapelfasern, von Spinntex turierverfahren von BCF-Garnen (Bulked Continuous Filaments) und von Strecktexturierverfahren von Filamente mit sehr hohen Geschwindigkeiten macht die Entwicklung von vollkommen neuen Präparationen erforderlich. Die Hauptforderungen an derartige Präparationsmittel sind sehr gute Hitzebeständigkeit, geringe Flüchtigkeit, gute antistatische Wirksamkeit, gutes Netzvermögen, mittlere bis niedrige Faden-Reibkörper-Reibung, ausreichendes Fadenschlußvermögen, Verträglichkeit mit anderen Hilfsmitteln, wie z.B. Spulölen, Schlichten oder Schmälzen sowie gute Auswaschbarkeit.
- Die DE-A-25 56 142 beschreibt ein Textilhilfsmittel, das sich insbesondere zum Aufbringen auf Fäden und Garne aus synthetischen Polymeren eignet. Die Textil- oder Faserhilfsmittel enthalten Carbonsäureglyceridester, Dicarbonsäurediester und ein Wachs mit einem Schmelzpunkt von über 30,8 °C.
- Die EP-B-54 953 beschreibt ein Präparationsmittel für Chemiefasern aus einem thermisch stabilen Schmiermittel und einem oberflächenaktiven Mittel, wobei das Schmiermittel in Form von Estern von Fettsäuren, Triglyceriden von Fettsäuren, Estern eines mehrwertigen Alkohols und einer Alkansäure und/oder Estern von zweibasischen Fettsäuren besteht. Dabei besteht das oberflächenaktive Mittel aus einem nichtionischen Blockpolymeren.
- Die Aufgabe der vorliegenden Erfindung besteht darin, Gleitmittel zu finden, die synthetischen Fasern und Filamenten eine mittlere bis niedrige Faden/Reibkörper-Reibung verleihen, bei gleichzeitig gutem Fadenschlußvermögen und die sich durch eine gute Hitzebe ständigkeit und ein gutes Fadenhaftungsvermögen auszeichnen, so daß Ablagerungen in Heizern oder auch Heizplatten, Galetten nicht auftreten oder auf ein Minimum beschränkt sind.
- Demgemäß besteht die weitere Aufgabe der vorliegenden Erfindung darin, verbesserte Gleitmittel zur Verfügung zu stellen, die thermisch sehr stabil und chemisch inert sind, d.h. bei längerem Erhitzen unter Zutritt von Luftsauerstoff auf Temperaturen über 200 °C nicht zum Verharzen neigen, noch teer- oder lackartige Crackprodukte bilden.
- Gegenstand der vorliegenden Erfindung sind Gleitmittel, die wenigstens eine Verbindung aus der Gruppe der einfach und/oder mehrfach ringgeöffneten epoxidierten Fette und/oder Öle und/oder Fettsäureester und/oder Alkohole und/oder Olefine enthalten.
- Die erfindungsgemäßen Gleitmittel lassen sich in vorteilhafter Weise auf Fäden und Fadenstränge von Polyester, Nylon 66 und Nylon 6 aufbringen, nachdem diese aus der Spinndüse ausgetreten sind.
- Bei anwendungstechnischen Prüfungen hat sich gezeigt, daß die oben genannten Verbindungen - je nach Molekulargewicht - einen hohen Siedepunkt haben und dementsprechend wenig flüchtig sind. Außerdem sind sie thermisch sehr stabil und chemisch inert, d.h. auch bei längerem Erhitzen unter Zutritt von Luftsauerstoff auf Temperaturen von über 200 °C neigen diese Produkte weder zum Verharzen, noch bilden sie teer- oder lackartige Crackprodukte.
- Dieses Verhalten macht sie geeignet als Faserhilfsmittel, insbesondere als Gleitmittel für Spinnpräparationen, die bei den einzelnen Verarbeitungsschritten Temperaturbelastungen bis zu 250 °C unterworfen werden.
- Gemäß einer Ausführungsform der vorliegenden Erfindung sind Gleitmittel dadurch gekennzeichnet, daß die ringgeöffneten epoxidierten Fette und Öle geradkettige und/oder verzweigte Fettsäurereste mit 8 bis 22 C-Atomen enthalten.
- Gemäß einer bevorzugten Ausführungsform leiten sich die ringgeöffneten epoxidierten Fette und Öle von Talg, Baumwollsaatöl, Erdnußöl, Rüböl, Sesamöl, Sojaöl, Sonnenblumenöl, Reisöl und/oder Palmöl ab.
- Gemäß einer weiteren Ausführungsform enthalten erfindungsgemäße Gleitmittel ringgeöffnete Fettsäureester, die geradkettige und/oder verzweigtkettige Fettsäurereste mit 8 bis 22 C-Atomen und vorzugsweise 12 bis 18 C-Atome aufweisen.
- Ringgeöffnete epoxidierte Fettsäureester gemäß der vorliegenden Erfindung enthalten vorzugsweise geradkettige und/oder verzweigtkettige Mono-, Di- und/oder Trialkoholreste mit 1 bis 18 C-Atomen.
- Vorzugsweise leiten sich die erfindungsgemäßen Fettsäureester von Laurylsäure, Myristylsäure, Palmitylsäure, Ölsäure, Linolsäure, Linolensäure und Rizinolsäure ab.
- Besonders bevorzugte Alkoholreste der ringgeöffneten epxodierten Fettsäureester leiten sich von Methanol und Glycerin ab.
- Gleitmittel im Sinne der vorliegenden Erfindung sind gemäß einer weiteren Ausführungsform der vorliegenden Erfindung dadurch gekennzeichnet, daß die ringgeöffneten, epoxidierten Alkohole geradkettig und/oder verzweigtkettig sind und 8 bis 20 C-Atome enthalten.
- Gemäß einer weiteren Ausführungsform der vorliegenden Erfindung sind die in den Gleitmitteln enthaltenen ringgeöffneten, epoxidierten Olefine geradkettig und/oder verzweigtkettig und enthalten 8 bis 22 C-Atome. Bevorzugt leiten sich die ringgeöffneten epoxidierten Olefine von α-Olefinen oder von mittelständigen Olefinen ab.
- Die Herstellung der Epoxide aus olefinische Doppelbindungen enthaltenden Fetten und Ölen, Fettsäureestern, Alkoholen und Olefinen, beispielsweise unter Verwendung von organischen Persäuren sowie deren Ringöffnung mit Alkoholen, ist dem Fachmann im Prinzip bekannt. Alkohol, Epoxid und beispielsweise Schwefelsäure werden zur Ringöffnung im Reaktionsgefäß vorgelegt und auf eine Reaktionstemperatur von 68 bis 100 °C gebracht. Danach läßt man unter Rühren bis zum Epoxidwert 0 abreagieren. Anschließend wird auf ca. 50 °C abgekühlt und mit Natriummethylat neutralisiert, wobei der überschüssige Alkohol im Vakuum abdestilliert.
- Gleitmittel im Sinne der vorliegenden Erfindung werden dadurch hergestellt, daß die Epoxidringe der Fette und Öle, Fettsäureester, Alkohole und Olefine mit Alkoho len geöffnet werden, die ausgewählt sind aus der aus geradkettigen und/oder verzweigtkettigen, gesättigten und/ oder ungesättigten Monoalkoholen mit 1 bis 22 C-Atomen und geradkettigen und/oder verzweigtkettigen, gesättigten und/oder ungesättigten Di- und/ oder Polyalkoholen mit 2 bis 30 C-Atomen und bis zu 6 Hydroxylgruppen bestehenden Gruppe.
- Gemäß einer bevorzugten Ausführungsform werden die Epoxidringe vorzugsweise mit Methanol, Ethylenglykol, Glycerin, Diglycerin, Propylenglykol, Diethylenglykol, Dipropylenglykol, Trimethylolethan, Trimethylolpropan, Neopentylglykol, Pentaerythrit, Dipentaerythrit, Sorbit, Sorbitan, Polyethylenglykol H-(OCH₂CH₂)nOH mit n = 1 bis 10 und Polypropylenglykol H-(OCHCH₃CH₂)nOH mit n = 1 bis 10 ringgeöffnet.
- Gleitmittel im Sinne der vorliegenden Erfindung können neben den ringgeöffneten epoxidierten Fetten und Ölen, Fettsäureestern, Alkoholen und Olefinen weitere im Stand der Technik bekannte Gleitmittel enthalten. Gemäß einer Ausführungsform der vorliegenden Erfindung sind Gleitmittel dadurch gekennzeichnet, daß sie zusätzlich 0 bis 50 Gew.-% Kohlenwasserstoffe, Mineralöle, Wachse, Silikonöle, Weißöle, Esteröle, Polyethylenpolymerisate, Fettsäureester, Fette, Öle, Alkohole und Triglyceride oder deren Gemische enthalten. Gleitmittel im Sinne der vorliegenden Erfindung enthalten zusätzlich vorzugsweise 0 bis 30 Gew.-% der vorgenannten, im Stand der Technik bekannten Gleitmittel.
- Weiterer Gegenstand der vorliegenden Erfindung ist die Verwendung der vorgenannten Gleitmittel als Faserhilfsmittel in Präparationen zur Herstellung von syn thetischen Fasern und Filamenten. Dabei lassen sich die erfindungsgemäßen Gleitmittel direkt oder mittels eines Trägers auf Fäden oder Garne auftragen. Bevorzugt im Sinne der vorliegenden Erfindung ist die Verwendung von erfindungsgemäßen Gleitmitteln als Faserhilfsmittel in Präparationen neben Antistatika, Emulgatoren, Korrosionsinhibitoren und/oder Fadenschlußkomponenten. Die Verwendung derartiger Nebenbestandteile in Präparationen ist dem Fachmann bekannt.
- Gemäß einer bevorzugten Ausführungsform der vorliegenden Erfindung werden die Gleitmittel als Faserhilfsmittel in Präparationen in einer Menge von 80 bis 90 Gew.-%, bezogen auf das Präparationsmittel, verwendet. Übrige Bestandteile, hier 10 bis 20 Gew.-%, bezogen auf das Präparationsmittel, stellen dann die oben genannten Faserhilfsmittel wie Antistatika, Emulgatoren, Korrosionsinhibitoren und/oder Fadenschlußkomponenten dar.
- Neben der direkten Aufbringung des Gleitmittels in praktisch unverdünnter Form, gegebenenfalls neben weiteren Faserhilfsmitteln, ist im Stand der Technik die Anwendung von Faserhilfsmitteln aus Lösungen, Suspensionen oder Emulsionen bekannt. Demgemäß besteht eine Ausführungsform der vorliegenden Erfindung darin, daß erfindungsgemäße Gleitmittel als Faserhilfsmittel in Präparationen in Form von Lösungen, Suspensionen oder Emulsionen verwendet werden.
- Als Emulgatoren oder Emulgatorgemische können beispielsweise nichtionische und anionische Tenside wie ethoxylierte oder propoxylierte Fettalkohole, Fettsäuren, Fettamine oder Fettsäureamide, sulfatierte oder sulfonierte Fettkörper oder Partialglyceride verwendet werden.
- Gemäß einer weiteren Ausführungsform der vorliegenden Erfindung können erfindungsgemäße Gleitmittel als Faserhilfsmittel in Präparationen in der Form verwendet werden, daß man Lösungen der Gleitmittel in organischen inerten Lösungsmitteln verwendet. Beispielsweise können als inerte Lösungsmittel verwendet werden: Testbenzin, Kristallöl und/oder niedrigviskose Mineralöle.
- In dem Falle, daß erfindungsgemäße Gleitmittel als Faserhilfsmittel in Präparationen in Form von Lösungen, Suspensionen oder Emulsionen verwendet werden, ist es bevorzugt, Gleitmittel in einer Menge von 50 bis 60 Gew.-%, bezogen auf das Präparationsmittel, zu verwenden.
- Gemäß einer bevorzugten Ausführungsform werden erfindungsgemäße Gleitmittel als Faserhilfsmittel in Präparationen verwendet, die dadurch gekennzeichnet sind, daß man verdünnte wäßrige Lösungen, Suspensionen oder Emulsionen der Präparationen einsetzt.
- Da zur Prüfung, ob die ringgeöffneten epoxidierten Fette als Gleitmittel geeignet sind, nicht unbedingt Spinnpräparationen erforderlich sind, wurde ein Verfahren zur Überprüfung der Thermostabilität der erfindungsgemäßen Gleitmittel entwickelt.
- Zur Überprüfung der Thermostabilität wurden daher eine Reihe ringgeöffneter epoxidierter Fette im offenen Aluminiumschälchen im Trockenschrank mehrere Stunden erhitzt. Als Vergleichssubstanz aus dem Stand der Technik diente ein Trimethylolpropan-Tripelargonsäureester und ein 2-Ethylhexyl-stearinsäureester die als Glättemittel in thermisch stabilen Spinnpräparationen häufig verwendet werden. Die Ergebnisse sind in Tabelle 1 und 1.1 zusammengestellt.
- Die gleichen Produkte wurden in einem weiteren Test auf der Heizschiene gegen Trimethylolpropan-Tripelargonsäureester und den oben genannten 2-Ethylhexyl-stearinsäureester auf Thermostabilität geprüft. Bei diesem Test tropft kontinuierlich während einer Zeit von 5 h eine Menge von 50 ml auf eine im Winkel von 45 ° aufgestellte Heizschiene mit einem aufsteigenden Temperaturprofil von 50 bis 260 °C. Die Schiene ist mit einer Plexiglashaube abgedeckt, so daß das Auftreten von Dämpfen und eine Kondensatbildung gut beobachtet werden kann. Am Ende der Schiene steht ein Auffanggefäß zur Bestimmung des Rücklaufs.
- Die Ergebnisse des Heizschienentests zeigt Tabelle 2.

Vier ringgeöffnete Epoxide wurden mit dem gleichen Emulgatorgemisch wie das Vergleichsbeispiel konfektioniert und mit vergleichbarer Ölauflage auf Nylon 6, Glattgarn, als Spinnpräparation aufgetragen. Die Spinnspulen wurden heiß verstreckt unter Temperaturen, die für die Herstellung technischer Garne üblich sind.
- Die beheizten Galetten wurden nach der Verstreckung auf Präparationsablagerungen oder Crack-Produkte untersucht. Alle erfindungsgemäßen Gleitmittel waren in dieser Hinsicht einwandfrei. Bei der Verstreckung konnte auch kein Abdampfen der Präparationen beobachtet werden.
- Ein Vergleich der Reibungskoeffizienten der Tabelle 3 macht deutlich, daß sowohl bei der Keramik- als auch bei der Stahlreibung die Reibungskoeffizienten der Gleitmittel gemäß der vorliegenden Erfindung deutlich unter den Werten des Vergleichsbeispieles liegen, d.h., daß die ringgeöffneten Epoxide als Gleitmittel für thermisch beanspruchte Filamente, speziell technische Garne, thermisch stabilen Estern klar überlegen sind.

20 % Petrolsulfonat. - Das Emulgatorgemisch wurde mit den Glättemitteln im Verhältnis von 1 : 1 konfektioniert. Von den so hergestellten Präparationen wurden 15 %ige wäßrige Emulsionen hergestellt und diese in den Spinnversuchen miteinander verglichen.
