Description

The invention relates to a built-in sink with a waste opening according to the preamble of claim 1.

In the case of the generally customary built-in sinks installed in the cover plate of a built-in kitchen furniture, the built-in kitchen furniture has at least one door in front of the built-in sink to which a waste bin is removably attached. In this case, kitchen waste accumulating in the area of the built-in sink is removed in such a way that the aforementioned door is swung open and the waste bin is made accessible, after which the waste is thrown into this bucket. It cannot be avoided that liquids, in particular contaminated dripping water, contaminate those areas over which the waste has to be transported, i.e. not only the built-in sink itself, but also the cover plate of the built-in kitchen furniture and possibly the floor in front of it.

The most varied attempts have therefore been made to solve the waste disposal problem for the area of a sink. For example, a built-in sink of the type mentioned at the outset has already become known from German Offenlegungsschrift DE-A 3 015 952, in which there is a movable residual bowl under the waste opening, which is lowered by a relatively complicated mechanism and then around a horizontal axis by 180 ° can be pivoted so that the waste in the rest of the bowl falls into a waste bin which is arranged below the waste opening. Two horizontal guide rails are provided for this waste bin, the cross-section of which corresponds to a horizontal U and are carried by a holder fastened to the underside of the built-in sink.

The invention had for its object to provide a construction which is simpler than the known construction described above and with which the problem of waste disposal can be solved more satisfactorily.

Starting from a built-in sink of the type mentioned above, this object can be achieved according to the invention in that the waste container is designed as a trash can, which can be pulled out in the carrying device to the front and has an approximately rectangular shape in the top view, the narrow sides of which byw. are swept at the back and which extends beyond the waste opening so that the waste shaft lies above the front bin area when the waste bin is inserted.

Advantageous embodiments are specified in the dependent claims 2 to 15.

In order to ensure that liquids, in particular dripping water, which accumulate on the top of the built-in sink can in no way enter the built-in kitchen furniture via the waste opening, in a preferred embodiment of the built-in sink according to the invention, this is provided with a collar projecting downward into the discharge chute, the outer cross section of which is the inner cross section the discharge chute is adjusted so that the collar engages appropriately in the discharge chute.

In this way it is ensured that liquids entering the area of the waste opening can only run off on the inside of the discharge chute and thus get into the waste container.

The construction is particularly easy to manufacture if the upper end of the chute simply lies against the underside of the sink.

To avoid having to clean the chute and remove it for this purpose, it is recommended to provide a protective chute that can be inserted into the chute and lifted up out of the sink. This protective shaft prevents the walls of the discharge shaft from becoming dirty. In order to keep the protective shaft in its functional position in a simple manner, a preferred embodiment of the built-in sink according to the invention also has a mounting edge surrounding the waste opening, onto which the protective shaft can be placed with an upper flange. To prevent liquids on the top of the built-in sink from getting into the area between the protective and discharge chutes, it is advisable to provide a seal between the upper end of the protective chute and the sink. This is preferably attached to the flange of the protective shaft so that it bears against the attachment edge surrounding the waste opening when the protective shaft is inserted into the discharge shaft. The lid mentioned could itself be provided with a seal, but if a seal is already provided at the upper end of the protective shaft, it is particularly advantageous to also provide a seal which interacts with the lid at the upper end of the protective shaft and which seals against the attachment edge applied seal is advantageously in one piece.

If a waste container that can be pulled out from the fitted kitchen furniture is provided, neither the discharge nor the protective shaft may protrude into the waste container. In such a case, the construction according to the invention is designed such that when the protective shaft is inserted in the sink, its lower edge is flush with that of the discharge shaft.

A particularly advantageous embodiment of the built-in sink according to the invention is characterized in that the waste container has the shape of a bucket, which can be inserted with lateral support elements into guide rails formed by the holder, transversely to the longitudinal direction of the sink and at least approximately horizontally, and that below the lower end of the discharge chute the upper opening of the bucket is larger than the cross section of the discharge chute. This enables a number of essential advantages to be achieved: the waste container can be easily attached under the waste opening and removed from the fitted kitchen furniture; it can be a waste container with a very substantial volume below the Built-in sink, although the waste opening and the cross-section of the chute are relatively small; Even if the housewife throws so much waste into the waste opening that it jams in the discharge or protective shaft, the natural slope angle forming in the waste container ensures that there is still a free space on the side in which the waste in the discharge or Garbage can stand if the waste container is pulled out from under the sink, so that it can be avoided in any case that rubbish falls into the fitted kitchen furniture when the waste container is pulled out. In order to ensure optimal utilization of the volume of the waste container, it is advisable to design the construction in such a way that the discharge chute, when the bucket is in its retracted position, lies above the front bucket area, so that the bucket volume kept clear by the natural slope angle when the bucket is pulled out glided past under the chute. In addition, it is advantageous to provide a closure plate, by which the opening area of the bucket which is in its end-of-insertion position and which projects beyond the discharge chute is covered. In order that the craftsman assembling the sink has to do as little work as possible, it is also advisable to design the construction in such a way that the closure plate is firmly connected to the sink. The same purpose is used to provide a support device for the guide rails attached to the sink.

The discharge chute on the underside of the sink could e.g. welded or molded onto a plastic sink. The guide rails could be laterally offset with respect to the edges of the waste opening and / or be inclined with respect to the horizontal. By "sink longitudinal direction" is meant that direction which is approximately parallel to the front, i.e. the edge of the sink facing the housewife or a table or worktop receiving it. It would also be conceivable for the discharge chute to have a cutout in its front wall below, into which the waste container is inserted from the front. Special constructions are not necessarily required for the waste container, since a conventional waste bin with an upper edge bent outwards can be used. Plastic waste bins, which are available in almost any shape on the market, are particularly advantageous.

Especially with built-in sinks made of stainless steel sheet, it is advisable to fasten the carrying device near the front and rear edge of the built-in sink on its underside, so that the load-bearing capacity in the edge area of the built-in sink is introduced into it and does not cause any deformation, e.g. a built-in sink or work surface next to the sink.

A particularly simple unit that can be preassembled by the manufacturer of the built-in sink is obtained when the discharge chute is held by the carrying device and is placed against the underside of the sink. The discharge chute itself can be part of the carrying device, in particular in that its upper region is fastened to the underside of the built-in sink in the region of the front edge of the built-in sink and the lower region indirectly or directly supports the front regions of the guide rails. In one embodiment with the closure plate mentioned, the construction is particularly simple to manufacture if the guide rails are molded onto the closure plate or, which is less advantageous, are fastened to it. The front area of the closure plate can then be carried through the chute.

Modern fitted kitchens have a grid that e.g. provides a width of 60 cm for a base cabinet. In a preferred embodiment of the built-in sink according to the invention, the waste opening is arranged directly next to the sink, and the distance of the side of the waste opening facing away from the basin from the side of the basin facing away from the basin corresponds to the width of the grid, i.e. especially about 60 cm. The space below the sink and the waste container assigned to the chute are then accessible by swinging open a door of a built-in cupboard, leaving space below the sink for another waste container or the like. This is particularly advantageous when, as is now being sought, the waste generated in the kitchen is to be separated according to organic and inorganic material, so that organic waste such as vegetable waste can be thrown through the waste opening into the waste container assigned to the discharge chute, while bottles , Metal and the like are placed in a trash can, which is placed under the sink in the base cabinet.

As has been described above, a preferred embodiment of the built-in sink according to the invention provides a waste container which is arranged at a distance below the sink surface and - in the plan view of the built-in sink - extends beyond the waste opening. In such a case, there is space in front of, but preferably behind, the waste opening and next to the sink above the waste container for a waste basin or the like, so that it is recommended to provide the waste opening and a trough with a drain opening next to the sink and the To design so that the opening of the waste bin corresponds in size and shape approximately to that field of the built-in sink, which is defined by the waste opening and the trough.

To avoid z. B. as a result of a fermentation process in the waste container developing gases to an unpleasant smell above the built-in. lead sink, is in a preferred embodiment, the closure plate at a distance above the top of the bucket, so that the gases mentioned in the space of the kitchen installation bels can escape below the built-in sink.

As already mentioned, the discharge chute can be attached to the closure plate. In this case, it is advantageous if the closure plate has an opening corresponding to the cross section of the discharge chute and is fastened to the discharge chute. If one then forms the closure plate so that its front edge region runs obliquely upwards, the waste line can also be inserted obliquely from above into the guide rails.

The actual built-in sink (10) shown in FIG. 1 has a circumferential raised support rim (20) with which it rests on a table or cover plate of a kitchen built-in piece of furniture, not shown, in the form of a base cabinet. These . The tabletop has a cutout that is adapted to the built-in sink (10), into which the areas of the built-in sink located below the supporting edge (20) engage. The supporting edge (20) thus carries the entire construction according to the invention.

The actual built-in sink (10) comprises - according to FIG. 1 from right to left - a sink (22), next to it a waste opening (24) one behind the other (see also FIG. 2a) with a circumferential, recessed one Attachment rim (26) for placing a lid (28), a residual trough (30) and a fitting base (32), which is followed by a draining surface (34) provided with ribs projecting upwards. All of these areas are enclosed by the supporting edge (20), and a step (36) forming a closed line comprises the drainer (34), the residual trough (30) and the sink (22).

According to the invention, the bottom 34a of the draining surface 34, an edge region 22a surrounding the sink 22 and a surface 40 surrounding the residual trough 30 form a single plane which preferably has a gradient from left to right in the direction of the sink 22 according to FIG. 1. Drain openings of the sink 22 and the residual trough 30 were designated 42 and 44, respectively. The step 36 ensures that dripping, splashing and splashing water occurring in the areas of the draining surface 34, the residual trough 30 and the sink 22 cannot run into the waste opening 24.

The parts of the installation unit according to the invention located below the actual built-in sink 10 will now be explained with reference to FIGS. 2, 2a, 2b and 3. As can be seen particularly clearly from FIG. 3, in the rear area of the built-in sink 10, two threaded bolts 48 are fastened, in particular welded, to the underside of the latter, with the aid of which nuts 50 50 two supports 52 were fastened to the underside of the built-in sink. A closure plate 54 is welded to this, which has an opening 56 in its front region, to which an ejection chute 58 adjoins at the top, which is welded to the closure plate 54 or fastened to it in another way. A mounting bracket 60 is welded to the front wall of the discharge chute, which is connected by means of one or more screws and nuts to a mounting bracket 62 which was welded to the underside of the built-in sink 10, in the region of the front part of the support rim 20. In this way the advantage is achieved that the discharge shaft 58 carries the front part of the closure plate 54. By dimensioning the carrier 52 and the mounting bracket 62, it can also be achieved that the upper end of the discharge chute 58 is pressed firmly against the built-in sink 10 from below.

On the closure plate 54 two guide rails 64 are integrally formed, in which from the front, d. H. 3 from the right, a waste bin 66 can be inserted. According to the invention, this has an approximately rectangular shape in plan view, its narrow sides being turned forwards or backwards. At least on its two long sides, it has support webs 68 which rest on the guide rails 64 when the waste bin is pushed in. On the longitudinal sides of the waste bin 66, a pivotable support bracket 72 is articulated in the region of its upper edge at 70, which in the pivoted-down state rests on the support webs 68 of the waste bin. A film bag 74 can be inserted into the waste bin 66, the upper edge region of which is pulled around the support webs 68 and engages around and under the latter, the support bracket 72 pivoted downward further contributing to fixing the upper edge of the film bag.

A collar 78 is formed on the built-in sink, which is surrounded by the attachment edge 26 and engages in the discharge chute 58 as well as possible, so that liquid reaching the attachment edge 26 is in any case directed into the discharge chute 58 and thus reaches the film bag 74, but cannot flow into the space of the fitted kitchen furniture below the built-in sink 10.

According to the invention, a protective shaft 80 is inserted into the discharge shaft 58 from above, on the upper edge of which a circumferential flange 22 is formed. This is extrusion-coated with a seal designated as a whole as 84, which consists in particular of soft PVC, and for fixing the flange 82 has holes 86 which are filled with the material of the seal 84. According to the invention, the seal 84 serves a dual purpose: on the one hand, it seals between the flange 82 and from the attachment edge 26, on the other hand between the flange 82 and the cover 28. It is advantageous if the height and thickness ratios, which can be seen in FIG. 2a, are chosen so that the edge of the cover 28 does not over protrudes the field 37 of the actual built-in sink 10, which surrounds the attachment edge 26 and lies between the step 36 and the supporting edge 20.

According to a further feature of the invention, the protective shaft 80 ends at the level of the closure plate 54, so that it does not hinder the pushing in and pulling out of the waste bin 66 from the guide rails 64. It is also expedient to design the waste bin 66 and the guide rails 64 so that the upper edge of the waste bin is at a distance below the closure plate 54. Finally, the front region of the closure plate 54 is bent obliquely upwards, as can be seen in FIG. 3, in order to make it possible to push the waste bin 66 into the guide rails 64 coming obliquely from above.

According to the invention, the front region of the waste bin 66 lies below the discharge shaft 58, as can be seen in FIG. 3. This creates an empty space 92 in the waste bin behind the waste 90, into which that part of the waste that is still in the protective shaft 80 can fall, and specifically when the waste bin 66 in the direction of arrow A (see FIG. 3) to the front is pulled out of the guide rails 64.

According to the invention, in its folded-down position (see FIG. 3), the support bracket 62 projects so far forward over the waste bin 66 that the waste bin definitely closes into its rear insertion end position when a door 94 of the built-in kitchen sink receiving the sink is closed in FIG. 3 is pushed. 2 that the width of the upper opening of the waste bin 66 is equal to or slightly greater than the width of the discharge shaft 58, so that the waste falls into the waste bin even when the protective shaft 80 is not inserted. It can also be seen from FIG. 2 that a further waste container can be accommodated below the sink 22 and next to the waste bin 66. Finally, FIG. 3 shows that the space above the waste bin 66 and behind the discharge shaft 58 can be used for the residual trough 30.

In Fig. 2, the distance "B" is still entered, which should be matched to the so-called grid dimension (60 cm) of fitted kitchens. This grid dimension is the width of a so-called base cabinet, and dimension "B" should correspond to the clear width of such a base cabinet between its side walls, so that the area of the construction according to the invention which contains the sink 22 and that in FIG. 2 as a whole 14 designated holder for the chute 58 and the trash can 66, fits between the two side walls of such a base cabinet. This dimension "B" depends on the thickness of the side walls of a base cabinet and is slightly smaller than 60 cm; in the preferred embodiment of the built-in sink according to the invention, dimension "B" is approximately 56 cm.
