Description

The invention relates to a fuel delivery unit according to the preamble of patent claim 1.

A fuel delivery unit known from DE-A-15 26 652 has an electric fuel pump which rests on the tank bottom via an elastic cushion and is suspended directly on the delivery pipe, this delivery pipe being of two parts and the two sections being connected to one another via a sleeve or sleeve are. This sleeve or sleeve can be, for example, a plastic tube or another elastic, flexible device. The pump is pressed against the tank bottom via the pipe section, the carrier pipe and the sleeve forming a kind of preload.

The above-mentioned height tolerances of the fuel tanks used today cannot be compensated for by the vertical movement of the above pump, because in this version the sleeve must be relatively rigid to ensure that the pump is adequately secured and the delivery pipe running parallel to the tank bottom can only be deflected to a limited extent.

In an embodiment according to DE-A-27 50 081, the pump is also suspended from the delivery pipe, but can move axially sufficiently and is supported either directly or via a separate support foot on the tank bottom with the aid of damping elements.

In order to prevent the pump from rotating on the delivery pipe, a guide is provided on the tank cap, which engages in a frame by means of laterally projecting flanges and can be moved leads. The fuel pump is arranged on this frame by means of damping elements.

For newer fuel delivery systems, return lines are provided below the fuel level in order to prevent unnecessary vapor formation.

It is therefore advantageous to arrange a return line with on the tank cap, whereby measures must also be taken here to arrange the outlet of the return line as deep as possible in the tank.

Proceeding from this, the task of the invention is to design a generic fuel delivery unit in such a way that the suction connection of the fuel pump and the return line outlet are always directly above the tank bottom, even when the tank bottom is lowered.

This object is achieved by the characterizing features of claim 1. Advantageous further developments are characterized by the features of the subclaims.

The advantages achieved by the invention are specified in the following description of an exemplary embodiment shown in FIG.

Es zeigen:

Fig. 2
einen Teilschnitt der Seitenansicht einer zweiten Ausführungsform.
Show it:
Fig. 1
2 shows a section of the side view of a first embodiment,
Fig. 2
a partial section of the side view of a second embodiment.

The fuel delivery unit shown in Figure 1 consists of a tank cap 1 with a pressure line part 2 and a return line part 4.

A lower part 6 with further line parts 3, 9 of the pressure and the return line is pushed over these two line parts 2, 4, a compression spring 5 being pushed onto the return line part 4 between cover 1 and lower part 6, so that the lower part 6 extends the return line axis is supported under the force of this spring 5 on the tank bottom 7.

The pressure line 9 in the lower part 6 is connected to the pressure connection of an electric fuel pump 8 via a bellows 11 acting as a damping element.

The return line 3 in the lower part 6 opens out into the fuel tank via an outlet opening 14.

This ensures that the fuel feed pump 8 is always directly above the tank bottom with its suction connection and can guarantee safe fuel delivery even with residual quantities.

The oscillations and vibrations resulting from the hydraulic pulsation are damped by damping means 13 in the bearing eye 10 and by the damping element 11, which connects the pump 8 to the pressure line 2 and is designed as a bellows, as a result of which the pressure line 2 is de-energized, in such a way that noise is transmitted to the tank cap 1 and thus avoided on the fuel tank.

The bottom part 6, which is always supported on the tank bottom 7 by the compression spring 5, causes the outlet opening 14 to always be located closely above the tank bottom, as a result of which, even with small fill quantities, the fuel return below the fuel level takes place so that unnecessary gas formation is avoided.

A guide sleeve 15 attached to the tank cap 1, which springs outwards when the fuel delivery unit is being assembled, engages behind a locking projection 16 on the lower part 6 of the return line 3 and prevents the system from falling apart uncontrollably when it is removed.

A sealing ring 17 is advantageously arranged in the region of the pressure line 9 for sealing the pressure line part 2.

From FIG. 2, in a further embodiment, in addition to the axial fixation of the electric fuel pump, spring elements 18 are provided for radial fixation, the filter element 12 being designed as a damping element which rests on the tank bottom and has a greater spring stiffness than that between the electric fuel pump 8 and the bellows 11 attached to the pressure line part 9.
The filter element 12 is connected to the electric fuel pump via a further damping element 19.
