Abstract

Randomly arranged and/or designed effects are produced on a yarn. The threads are fed to an effect device (22) by a delivery device at a variable delivery speed. The delivery device contains a first and a second roller (16, 18) which rotate at different circumferential speeds. A thread can be pressed selectively by pressure rollers (24, 26) against one roller (16, 18) or the other. The pressure rollers (24, 26) are each directly actuable by means of a respective lifting magnet (28, 30). The lifting magnet (28, 30) can be controlled in the push-pull mode by an electronic random-value generator (32). The second roller (18) forms part of a stepped roller (36) with rollers of different diameter, each of which interacts with a thread and a separate pressure roller controlled by a lifting magnet. <IMAGE>

The invention relates to a device for producing randomly arranged and / or formed effects on a yarn containing
  • (a) an effect device through which at least one thread is passed, and
  • (b) a delivery device, by means of which a thread can be conveyed through the effect device at different speeds
    • a first roll that rotates at a first speed
    • a second roller which rotates at a second speed different from the first roller, and
    • Pressure rollers which are controlled electromagnetically and by means of which the thread can be pressed against either the first or the second roller, and
  • (c) a control device by means of which the delivery device can be controlled in an irregular sequence,

It is about the following: Yarns with certain irregularities, e.g. Pimples or knots. As a result, a certain desired optical effect is achieved in the finished woven or knitted fabric. These irregularities are achieved by one or more threads of an effect device, e.g. an air texturing device, is supplied in chronological succession at different speeds. It is essential that the effects achieved with this occur in a random sequence and that no periodicity is obtained. In this case, undesirable patterns ("formation") would result in the weaving of such a yarn.

A texturing device is known from US Pat. No. 3,805,344, in which a thread to be textured is conveyed from a supply roll via a delivery device into a pressure medium jet of a texturing device. The thread guided by the pressure medium jet is then passed over a tension fork and is wound up by a take-up spool.

The delivery device contains two rollers which are driven at different peripheral speeds, namely a first roller which rotates at a relatively slow peripheral speed and a second roller whose peripheral speed is significantly higher. The thread runs past the two rollers. The thread is either pressed onto the first one by pressure rollers Role of the delivery device pressed or to the second role. In the former case, it is fed to the texturing device at a relatively slow speed. In the latter case, the thread is fed at a significantly increased speed. In order to ensure that the thread is only pressed against the second roller by the pressure roller in question if the pressure on the first roller has been released beforehand, the two pressure rollers are seated on a pivotable bearing for pressing the thread onto the first and second rollers. two-armed lever. This lever is held in a normal position by a spring, in which the thread is pressed against the first roller of the delivery device by a pressure roller and the other pressure roller is lifted off. The lever is pivoted by a lifting magnet against the action of the spring into another position in which the one pressure roller is lifted from the first roller of the delivery device and the other pressure roller presses the thread onto the second roller.

In this known device, the counter-phase control of the pressure rollers is achieved mechanically by the arrangement on a common pivot lever.

It is also known to couple a roll of the delivery device via magnetic clutches optionally with a slow and a fast drive (company publication "Flame and color _ effect device model Fatex for air _ texturing _ machine model AT / AT-GD" of the Eltex textile finishing machines GmbH, Reutlingen).

In the known devices, the lifting magnet or the magnetic couplings are controlled by control units which work with punch cards. After running through such a punch card (repeat), the repeats chronological order of the control commands. This can lead to the pattern formation (formation) in the tissue described at the beginning. Program errors are provided to avoid such formation. However, this does not always lead to success, so that end products of second choice are created.

The lengths of the effects produced on the yarn should be in a certain range and should not exceed an upper limit. On the other hand, the delivery speed should be as high as possible in order to increase the performance of the machine. In the known devices there is a limit due to the inertia of the moving masses, e.g. the pivot lever of the aforementioned U.S. Patent 3,805,344, or magnetic couplings. With a predetermined maximum length of the effects generated, a maximum delivery speed is predetermined by the response time of the switchover.

Finally, the possible variations in the known devices are very limited.

The invention has for its object to enable an increase in the delivery speed with a predetermined upper limit of the length of the generated effects in a device of the type mentioned for generating randomly arranged effects on a yarn by shortening the response time when switching the speeds of the delivery device.

The invention is further based on the object of preventing the occurrence of formations in a device of the type mentioned at the outset.

Another object of the invention is to increase the number of possible variations in a device of the type mentioned in the introduction.

According to the invention, this object is achieved in that
  • (d) the pressure rollers for pressing the thread against the first roller and for pressing the thread against the second roller can each be moved by a separate lifting magnet and
  • (e) the solenoids can be controlled by the control device in push-pull.

Vorzugsweise ist die Steuervorrichtung ein elektronischer Zufallsgenerator. The control device is preferably an electronic random generator.

A reduction in the moving masses can be achieved in particular in that each of the pressure rollers is mounted directly on the armature of the lifting magnet in question.

An increase in the possible variations can be achieved in that
  • (a) the second roller is part of a step roller, which is formed from a plurality of rollers with different diameters,
  • (b) several threads are passed over one roll of the step roll and
  • (c) each roller of the stepped roller is assigned a pressure roller which can be moved in the pressing position by a separate lifting magnet.

The random generator can then be programmed so that it controls the following functions according to random distributions within predetermined limits:
  • (a) the choice of the pressure roller which is pressed onto the associated roller of the stepped roller while at the same time lifting off the pressure roller, by means of which the thread in question can be pressed against the first roller,
  • (b) the time interval between the pressing of the various pressure rollers against the associated roller of the step roller and
  • (c) the length of time the various pressure rollers are pressed against the associated roller of the step roller.

It has been shown that the inertial masses to be moved can be significantly reduced by the inventive actuation of the pressure rollers by means of individual lifting magnets. Since only low inertia forces have to be overcome, smaller solenoids can be used, which in turn respond faster. The response time of the delivery device to a command to switch the delivery speed can therefore be considerably reduced compared to the prior art. This enables higher delivery speeds and, in turn, higher machine performance. The synchronization of the application and lifting of the two pressure rollers on the associated rollers of the delivery device does not take place mechanically by means of a pivotable, double-armed lever as in US Pat. No. 3,805,344, but electrically through suitable control circuits for the associated solenoids, which work practically inertia. It has been shown that a flawless switchover is possible in this way.

The electronic random generator allows the display of a practically infinite repeat. There is therefore no periodic repetition of a pattern of the effects on the yarn, so that no formation occurs.

The use of the step roller creates additional variables, which considerably increases the number of possible variations compared to the prior art.

  • Fig. 3 ist eine Seitenansicht der Liefereinrichtung.
An embodiment of the invention is explained in more detail below with reference to the accompanying drawings:
  • 1 is a schematic illustration of a device for producing randomly arranged and / or formed effects on a yarn.
  • FIG. 2 is a top view of a delivery device in a device according to FIG. 1.
  • Figure 3 is a side view of the delivery device.
  • Fig. 4 is an example of a fancy yarn obtained with a device of the present type.

In Fig. 1, 10 denotes a supply spool for a thread 12 to be processed. The thread 12 is guided through a thread guide 14 past a first roll (delivery roll) 16 and a second roll (effect roll) 18. The thread 12 then runs through a further, upper thread guide 20 to an effect device 22. The first roller 16 is driven at a relatively low peripheral speed. The second roller 18 has a much higher peripheral speed.

The thread 12 can be pressed against the first roller 16 by a first pressure roller 24. The first roller 16 is provided with a rubber surface, so that the thread 12 is delivered in this case at the peripheral speed of the first roller 16. The thread 12 can be pressed against the second roller 18 by a second pressure roller 26, so that it is delivered at the higher peripheral speed of the second roller 18. The first pressure roller 24 can be moved into the pressure position shown in FIG. 1 by a lifting magnet 28. The second pressure roller 26 can be moved by a lifting magnet 30 into a pressure position in which it presses the thread 12 onto the second roller 18. The two solenoids 28 and 30 can always be controlled in push-pull, so that only one of the pressure rollers 24 or 26 is in the pressure position. The lifting magnet 28, 30 can bring the respective pressure roller 24, 26 into the pressing position, for example against the restoring force of a spring, or can move it back out of the pressing position. For high cycle speeds, the lifting magnet can also bring the pressure roller into the pressure position by means of two oppositely acting coils and move it back from the pressure position.

The solenoids 28 and 30 are controlled by an electronic random generator 32.

In the preferred embodiment shown, the second roller 18 is part of a stepped roller 34. The stepped roller 34 consists of a plurality of rollers with different diameters, namely in addition to the roller 18, the rollers 36, 38, 40, 42 and 44. In a manner to be described are the rollers 18 and 36, 38, 40, 42 and 44 coaxially and axially offset from each other and are driven together. A thread runs past each of these rollers, which are pressed onto the roller 18 or 36, 38, 40, 42, or 44 by an associated pressure roller. For the sake of clarity, this is not shown in FIG. 1.

36, 38, 40, 42 bzw. 44 der Stufenrolle 34.
The random generator 32 is designed and programmed in such a way that it controls the following functions according to random distributions within predetermined limits:
  • (a) the choice of the pressure roller 26, 56, 58, 60, 62 or 64, which is pressed onto the associated roller 18 or 36, 38, 40, 42 or 44, at the same time the associated pressure roller 24, through which the relevant thread 12, 46, 48, 50, 52 or 54 can be pressed against the first roll 16, is lifted off the first roll 16,
  • (b) the time interval between the pressing of the various pressure rollers 26, 56, 58, 60, 62 or 64 onto the associated roller 18 or 36, 38, 40, 42 or 44 of the stepped roller 34 and
  • (c) the length of time that the various pressure rollers 26, 56, 58, 60, 62 or 64 are pressed onto the associated roller 18, 36, 38, 40, 42 or 44 of the stepped roller 34.

Entsprechende Teile sind in Fig. 2 und 3 mit den gleichen Bezugszeichen versehen wie in Fig. 1.2 and 3, the delivery device is shown in a somewhat more constructive but still schematic representation. Corresponding parts are provided with the same reference numerals in FIGS. 2 and 3 as in FIG. 1.

In Fig. 3, the rollers 18 and 36, 38, 40, 42 and 44 of the step roller 36 are shown in plan view. Threads 12, 46, 48, 50, 52 and 54 are guided by the thread guide 20 past the rollers 18, 36, 38, 40, 42 and 44, respectively. The threads 12, 46, 48, 50, 52 and 54 can be pressed against the associated roller 18, 36, 38, 40, 42 and 44 by pressure rollers 26, 56, 58, 60, 62 and 64. This is done by solenoids 30, 66, 68, 70, 72 and 74, respectively, in FIGS. 2 and 3 the control of the pressure roller 62 by the solenoid 72 is shown in detail.

The lifting magnet 72 contains a housing 76. A magnet coil 78 is held in the housing 76. The magnet coil acts on a magnet core 80 which executes a stroke when the magnet coil 78 is excited and is moved out of the magnet coil against the roller 42. The pressure roller 62 is seated in a fork 82 directly on the magnetic core 80. In addition, the pressure roller 62 is held by a roller holder 84 which is pivotably mounted in the housing 76. The roller holder 84 absorbs the weight of the pressure roller 62 and the transverse forces acting on the pressure roller 62, so that the magnetic core 80 is relieved of it.

The lifting magnet 86 is constructed in a corresponding manner and actuates the associated pressure roller 88, by means of which the thread 52 can be pressed onto the first roller 16.

A wrap brake 90 for the thread 52 is provided between the feed roll 10 and the thread guide 14.

In a corresponding manner, the lifting magnets 30 and 66, 68, 70 and 74 as well as the associated pressure rollers, which interact with the first roller 16, and the lifting magnets, by means of which these can be controlled, are designed.

With the arrangement described, six different, possibly also differently colored, threads can be drawn off from supply spools 10,... And fed either at the same speed through the first roller 16 to the effects device 22 or, depending on which of the rollers 26, 56, 58, 60, 62 or 64 presses the thread onto the associated reel 18, 36, 38, 40, 42 or 44, at different speeds. Each of the rollers 18, 36, 38, 40, 42 and 44 gives the associated thread a different delivery speed. Accordingly, the effects device 22 causes different effects on the yarn formed.

Fig. 4 shows an example of a yarn provided with such effects.

At the upper end of FIG. 2, the thread 52 is passed to an air nozzle or other effect device which is known per se and is therefore not shown in detail here.

In a preferred embodiment, the first roller 16, the delivery roller, has a diameter of 130 mm. This results in a circumference of U = 408.2 mm. In order to achieve a delivery speed of 200 m / min, a speed of 470 revolutions per minute is required.

The following results for the rollers of the step roller 34 in the preferred embodiment:

Figure imgb0001
The step roller 34 is driven at a speed of 1400 revolutions per minute. At a delivery speed of 200 m / min, this would result in a roll diameter of D = 45.5 mm for the smallest roll 44. For a "delivery", that is to say an increased delivery speed compared to the "normal" delivery speed caused by the roll 16, this then results following roll diameters:
Figure imgb0001

A yarn can then be provided with effects as follows:

A basic thread 54 is continuously supplied via the step roller 36 (roller 44) at the normal delivery speed of, for example, 200 m / min. Each thread 52, 50, 48 46 and 12 is optionally available with a ratio of 1: 1.5; 1: 2.0; 1: 2.5; 1: 3.0 and 1: 3.5 increased delivery speed available when the relevant solenoids are energized. The change between the solenoids and the duration and spacing of the excitations are controlled by the random generator 32. The values for the duration of the excitation and the distances follow a random distribution, but are within predetermined or predeterminable lower and upper limits. The construction and programming of a random generator which fulfills the functions specified above is familiar to the person skilled in the art and is therefore not described in detail here described.

The roles of the step roller 34 are interchangeable. It is therefore also possible to work with other combinations of roll diameters. For example, one thread can be delivered over the first roller 16 at a delivery speed of 200 m / min, while five further threads can be delivered by rolling the stepped roller, each with a ratio of 1: 1.5 or 1: 2.0 or 1: 2.5 etc. increased speed are available.

The arrangement described therefore allows a variety of possible variations.
