Description

The invention relates to a housing with connecting terminals arranged in two or more rows, the insertion openings for the electrical lines to be connected are located on one side of the housing and the associated contact connection screws are accessible on a housing side located at right angles thereto, the terminals of the connecting terminal rows being offset in steps. Such terminals are known from FR-A-2 365 221.

Housing with terminals of the aforementioned type are known from DE-PS 27 32 963. The housing described here is that of a contactor. Its contact system has laterally cranked contact rails, which are arranged in two laterally offset planes. When viewed from above, the contact connection screws of one connection terminal stage are centered on those of the other stage. There is one less terminal on one terminal stage than on the other stage.

In the case of terminal blocks, it is also known according to FR-A-1 597 216 to guide the connecting rail of two clamping points to release the screw heads of other clamping points around them above the screw heads and in an arc.

The invention has for its object to provide a housing with as large a number of device terminals as possible, as in the prior art, the free access to the contact terminal screws should be retained in the wiring in any order.

This object is achieved in an arrangement of the type mentioned above in that the connecting terminals of the step which is closer to the housing side with access to the insertion openings of the connecting terminals also have the shorter distance to that Has housing side on which the contact terminal screws are accessible, and that at least a portion of the terminals on the side facing away from the contact terminal screws is provided with an electrical terminal lead, which are guided past the insertion openings of another row of terminals isolated.

From FR-A-1 464 021 a terminal block in the manner of terminal blocks is known, but in which the problem of leading the terminal leads of some terminals past the other terminals does not arise.

The subject matter of the invention makes it possible not only to insert the electrical lines to be clamped vertically but also obliquely into the housing openings. Furthermore, the special design of the housing allows electrical connecting lines of different wire sizes to be used in any order and without mutual hindrance when tightening or loosening the contact connection screws. The contact connection screws are assigned on the front side of the screwdriver openings in one plane, as a result of which the screwdriver is better guided when tightening and loosening the contact connection screws and this task can be carried out more easily and quickly. Funnel-shaped housing openings are arranged in front of the insertion openings of the connection terminals in order to facilitate the insertion of the lines to be connected. The pressure piece of the connecting terminal runs out on the side facing away from the contact connecting screws into a terminal lead, with which the connecting terminal is fastened in a simple manner in the housing. The pressure piece of the connecting terminal has a resilient clamping element in the area of the terminal lead, which consists of a longitudinal slot in the terminal lead and lug-shaped protrusions on the terminal lead, so that the terminal can be easily attached by inserting it into the housing slot at the bottom of the recess. The terminals are designed as box terminals, which are characterized by easy connection of the electrical cables has proven itself. The pressure piece of the box clamp is bent in a U-shape towards the contact connection screw and the free leg of the U-shaped pressure piece has a slot into which a groove of the contact connection screw can be clamped. The contact connection screw thus connects the pressure piece to the frame of the connection terminal in a simple manner. The connection prevents mutual displacement of the individual parts of the connection terminal, which enables easier and faster assembly in the housing. The terminal derivation of the pressure piece of the box terminals runs out as an electrically conductive connecting rail, so that the electrical connection with the further wiring of the electrical devices located in the housing can be carried out in a simple manner either as a plug or solder connection. The screwdriver openings are followed by expanded recesses into which the box clamps can be easily pushed. In the boundary walls of at least part of the housing openings, slots are provided in the housing as a continuation of the recesses, which run essentially parallel to the axis of the contact connection screws. Part of the box terminals can be used to easily guide the clamp leads in these slots. As a result, the designated insulation from adjacent connecting lines is given in a particularly favorable manner. On the bottom side of the recesses for a row of terminals, longitudinal slots are provided in the housing in the longitudinal direction of the contact terminal screws, in which the terminal leads are advantageously guided. On the front of the housing there is a removable cover plate with the screwdriver openings, which are opposite the recesses in the upper part of the housing for receiving the connection terminals. Due to the design, the box clamps can be easily inserted into the recesses and clamped in place. It is also possible to automate the assembly of the terminals in the housing with the cover plate removed.

The housing consists of an upper part 1 with a removable cover plate 2 on its front side, as shown in FIG. 1, and a lower part, not shown. The housing cast from plastic has a width of e.g. 22.5 mm and is used for installation for electromechanical and electronic devices. On the narrow sides of the upper housing part 1 there are the connecting terminals 4, which are staggered in two rows. Each row of terminals is provided with three terminals 4.

Towards the front, the upper housing part 1 has recesses 14 in which the connecting terminals 4 are inserted. The recesses 14 of the two rows of terminals are of different depths because of the gradual offset. In order to clamp the electrical lines easily and quickly, funnel-shaped housing openings 15 are provided on the narrow sides of the upper housing part 1. The housing openings 15 are arranged in two rows one above the other, each being assigned a row of terminals. At its bottom, the deeper recess 14 of the two rows of terminals merges into a longitudinal slot 17 in the housing, whereas the recess 14 of the other row of terminals opens into a slot 16 in the housing which is similar to the longitudinal slot 17 and which, according to FIG. 3, is located in a boundary wall to the side of a housing opening 15 is located belongs to the row of terminals with the greater distance to the front of the housing.

The box terminals 4 of the two rows of terminals are designed differently. According to FIG. 4, they consist of the frame 12, the contact connecting screw 5, which has a different length for the two rows of connecting terminals in accordance with the gradual offset, and the pressure piece 6, which is also designed differently for the two connecting terminal rows. The greater length of the contact connecting screws 5 of a connecting terminal row offers the advantage that that the screw heads are just as close to the screwdriver openings as with the shorter contact connection screws 5 and therefore the screwdriver is well guided in the same way when tightening and loosening all contact connection screws 5. The contact terminal screw 5 lies on the actual pressure piece 6 with its screw thread, which is screwed through one side of the frame 12. The contact terminal screw 5 is held with its groove in the slot of the free leg 7, which results from U-shaped bending of the actual pressure piece 6 to the contact terminal screw 5. This connection ensures that the frame 12 and the actual pressure piece 6 move against each other when the contact terminal screw 5 is rotated and the connecting line can be clamped between the two. The actual pressure piece 6 has a right-angled continuation to the side facing away from the free leg 7, which has a shoulder 8, to which the clamp lead 9 designed as a narrow contact rail connects. The pressure piece 6 of the frame clamp 4 located in the deeper recess 14 has a clamping lead 9 which continues to rotate in relation to the part of the pressure piece 6 lying beyond the shoulder 8. The clamp lead 9 of this box clamp has a narrow slot 10 which continues beyond the paragraph 8 to the actual pressure piece 6. Near the paragraph 8 there are two nose-shaped bulges 11 on the side of the clamping lead 9, which follow Lock the insertion of the clamp lead 9 into the slot 16 in the housing behind the edges of the slot 16. The frame clamp 4 is thus fastened in the deeper recess 14 via the pressure piece 6. The pressure piece 6 considered for the box terminal 4 of the adjacent row of connecting terminals differs from the design of the pressure piece 6 described so far. Although this pressure piece 6 from the slotted leg 7 up to paragraph 8 looks the same as the one described above, there is a different continuation of the clamp lead 9 from paragraph 8. The pressure piece 6 considered here goes at paragraph 8 into a clamp lead designed as a narrow contact rail 9, which, in relation to the other embodiment, runs with its longitudinal axis to the part of the pressure piece 6 lying beyond the shoulder 8 in a plane offset by 90 °. As before, a resilient clamping element is provided on the clamping lead 9 for fastening the frame clamp 4. It consists in turn of a longitudinal slot 10 in the contact rail and two laterally located on this nose-shaped bulges 11. The attachment of the frame clamp 4 is also carried out by the resilient clamping element on the terminal lead 9, but which deviates from the adjacent row of terminals in the slot 16 in the housing one Housing opening 15 bounding wall is clamped. The narrow contact rails forming the clamping leads 9 of both embodiments are shaped such that a plug or solder connection is optionally possible at their free end. In order to make the electrical connection of the devices located in the housing in a simple manner, the upper housing part 1 can be removed from the lower part, so that there is free access to the contact rails. In addition, the housing design is advantageous in that after removing the cover plate 2, the box terminals 4 are inserted and locked into the recesses 14 by means of automatic machines.
