Definitions
- the invention relates to a letter punch with a base plate provided with die cutouts for the passage of punches and delimited at its lower edge by a base and with at least two spaced apart from each other on the base plate and separately attachable, each having a punch guide and together with the base plate one to their front broad side edge open insertion slot limiting bearing blocks on which a pressure lever acting on the punch is pivotally mounted about an axis parallel to the broad side edges.
- letter punches of this type have two bearing blocks riveted or welded to the base plate, in which the punch punches, which are under the action of a return spring, are guided.
- the stand area of the punch is formed exclusively by the base plate, while the bearing blocks placed on the base plate have no stand function.
- base plates of different sizes are therefore required, to which each bearing block is adjusted in size.
- the invention has for its object to provide a letter punch, in which the manufacture of the bearing blocks for different hole sizes is standardized and can therefore be rationalized.
- the invention is based primarily on the idea that when using individually producible bearing blocks, which in addition to the punch guide and pressure lever bearing also have a standing function, one and the same bearing block type in conjunction with differently sized base plates enables rational production of differently sized holes. Proceeding from this, it is proposed according to the invention that a bracket, which projects in the assembled state beyond the rear broad side edge of the base plate and is aligned on its lower edge with the base surface of the base plate, is formed on the bearing blocks.
- the bearing block has a central part which is angled upward from the standing surface of the boom and abuts against a downwardly bent edge of the base plate, with overlapping bores for the passage of in the central part and a bent edge of the base plate
- fasteners designed as screws or rivets are arranged.
- the bearing block then overlaps a surface of the base plate that runs parallel to the standing surface on the middle part pointing upward and has a stop thereafter for the documents to be punched as a rear limitation of the insertion slot.
- the letter punch will normally have two bearing blocks arranged on the base plate at a standard distance from one another. For multiple perforations, however, it is also possible to equip the base plate with three or four bearing blocks arranged at a lateral distance from one another and provided with the bracket according to the invention. In order to be able to set different hole spacings, according to an advantageous embodiment of the invention, at least one of the bearing blocks can be attached laterally displaceably to the base plate.
- the base plate has a surface pointing obliquely forward from the opening of the insertion slot.
- the base plate can have a step forming a stop for the document to be punched in the rear area of the insertion slot, this step can be supplemented with the stop located on the bearing block to form a common limit stop.
- the base plate 1 has a horizontal die web 11 with die cutouts 12 for punches (not shown) and an inclined surface 17 upstream of the die web 11.
- the rear bent edge 13 runs obliquely downward and contains holes 14 for receiving fastening screws, not shown.
- a recess 16 is provided for the passage of a stop rail, not shown.
- the footprint of the base plate is formed by the closed lower edge of the edges 13, 15.
- the bearing block 2 which is preferably designed as a cast part made of metal or plastic, has a relatively long arm 21 having a U-shaped profile, a central part 22 which points obliquely upward from the arm 21 and a bearing and guide part 27 which overlaps the base plate to a certain extent.
- the middle part 22 bears against the inclined edge 23 of the base plate and is provided with two threaded bores 28 for receiving fastening screws (not shown), the head of which bears against the inner surface of the edge 13 in the region of the bores 14.
- the bearing block 2 has in the region of the part 27 a surface 23 which bears against the die web 11 and a stop surface 24 which is perpendicular thereto and delimits the insertion slot 18 for the documents to be punched.
- a bore 25 for receiving a Hole punch and a transverse bore 26 are provided for receiving a bearing rod, around the axis of which a pressure lever, not shown, acting against the punch is mounted.
- the stand area of the base plate is enlarged by the extension 21 of the bearing block 2.
- the pedestals 2 produced as individual parts can be connected to base plates 1 of different dimensions, so that different sized letter punches can be produced with one and the same pedestal type.
