Abstract

L'invention concerne une boîte à couvercle amovible (6) pourvu d'une cuvette (34) destinée à servir de logement à une plaquette (12) qui y est retenue par un rebord (13) de plus petit diamètre que la plaquette (12). Cette plaquette (12) présente une surface visible ayant l'aspect et la coloration du revêtement susdit.
Le couvercle (6) présente, juste sous son bord périphérique (14), une cavité annulaire (15) à fond arrondi.
Cette cavité est dirigée vers l'axe (16) du couvercle (6) et est destinée à servir de logement à la partie torique roulée (12) d'une pièce annulaire (7) qui coiffe l'extrémité (5) à obturer du corps de la boîte.
Le couvercle (6) est maintenu en place par un anneau de blocage et de scellement inséré dans une rainure (20) longeant le bord périphérique (14) de la boîte.

Description

  • La présente invention est relative à une boîte com­prenant un corps de boîte fermé à une extrémité inférieure et muni à son extrémité supérieure d'un couvercle circulaire amovible présentant une cuvette destinée à servir de logement à une plaquette et entourée d'une rainure circulaire ouverte vers l'exté­rieur de la boîte, garnie sous son bord périphérique, d'une cavité annulaire à fond arrondi, dirigée vers son axe et destinée à servir de logement à une saillie annulaire ménagée à l'intérieur du corps de la boîte.
  • La boîte suivant l'invention est, en particulier, une boîte destinée à contenir une peinture, un vernis, un crépi, un pigment ou un autre produit de revêtement ou entrant dans la composition d'un mélange protecteur sous forme de liquide, de pâte ou de solide finement divisé.
  • Une législation européenne a été établie récemment au sujet du transport de produits de peinture et de solvants dans des récipients métalliques ou non qui doivent pouvoir résister à des critères sévères de choc et de chute.
  • On connaît par le document EP-A-0186979, un réci­pient en matière plastique muni d'une fermeture à couvercle également en matière plastique. La boîte est munie d'une bride annulaire comportant une lèvre annulaire définissant une entrée du corps de la boîte ainsi qu'un canal d'égouttement autour de cette entrée. La bride annulaire est réalisée de préférence en polypropylène et fait partie intégrante du corps de boîte.
  • Dans ce récipient, l'étanchéité entre le couvercle et le récipient est principalement assurée par une surface de contact limitée à une bande restreinte dans laquelle les efforts de serrage sont essentiellement radiaux.
  • Un second inconvénient de cette fermeture à couvercle réside dans le fait qu'elle ne peut pas etre mise en oeuvre dans une boîte métallique.
  • On connaît aussi par le document EP-0079472, un couvercle en matière plastique, pour une boîte de peinture ou analogue. Ce couvercle présente une partie ou pièce formant une cuvette cylindrique destinée à servir de logement pour une plaquette circulaire pré­sentant une surface visible ayant la coloration et l'aspect de la peinture contenue dans la boîte, des moyens étant prévus pour retenir la plaquette dans la cuvette.
  • La présente invention vise à réaliser une boîte qui répond aux recommandations de la Commission Européenne en matière de transport de produits de peinture et solvants, en particulier en ce qui concerne la résis­tance au choc.
  • La présente invention concerne une boîte comprenant un corps de boîte fermé à une extrémité inférieure et muni à son extrémité supérieure d'un couvercle circu­laire amovible présentant une cuvette destinée à ser­ vir de logement à une plaquette et entourée d'une rainure circulaire ouverte vers l'extérieur de la boîte, garnie sous son bord périphérique, d'une cavité annulaire à fond arrondi, dirigée vers son axe et destinée à servir de logement à une saillie annulaire ménagée à l'intérieur du corps de la boîte, caractéri­sé en ce que l'extrémité supérieure du corps de la boîte est coiffée d'une pièce annulaire qui en est solidaire et qui présente, vers l'intérieur du corps de la boîte, une partie qui s'écarte de la surface interne dudit corps et présente une extrémité intéri­eure roulée de forme sensiblement torique.
  • L'emploi d'une pièce annulaire présentant comme épaulement en contact avec le couvercle, un rebord to­rique roulé qui épouse le couvercle sur un arc de contact de plus de 120° améliore l'étanchéité de la boîte et améliore l'ancrage du couvercle sur la boîte et permet donc d'éviter tout risque d'enlèvement acci­dentel de ce couvercle.
  • La plaquette peut être une plaquette de métal d'épaisseur suffisante pour assurer une rigidité. Cha­cune de ses surfaces peut être revêtue, par exemple, par pistolage, d'une couche de peinture, ces couches pouvant être de natures ou de couleurs différentes.
  • La plaquette peut aussi être en matière plastique, de préférence transparente. Dans ce dernier cas, la matière plastique transparente peut être colorée dans la masse à l'aide du ou des pigments contenus dans la peinture renfermée dans une boîte.
  • La plaquette peut se présenter sous forme d'une rondelle ou pastille rigide, de forme polygonale ou, de préférence circulaire.
  • La plaquette peut être revêtue sur ses deux faces de couches de revêtement ayant des couleurs et/ou des aspects différents, de sorte qu'une même plaquette peut être associée à des boîtes ayant des contenus différents. Ainsi une face d'une plaquette peut être revêtue d'une couche brillante, tandis que sa face opposée peut être revêtue d'une couche mate ou satinée de la même couleur que la couche brillante. De même, une face de la plaquette peut être revêtue d'une couche ayant une couleur différente de celle appliquée sur son autre face.
  • Ainsi, le nombre de plaquettes et de couvercles dont doit disposer le fabricant de peintures ou de produits analogues est sensiblement réduit.
  • L'invention concerne également un procédé pour sceller une boîte à couvercle telle que décrite ci-­dessus, suivant lequel on empêche le couvercle de se détacher du corps de la boîte, en introduisant dans la rainure un anneau de blocage, présentant un ergot ou un rebord annulaire faisant saillie dans un évidement annulaire de la paroi de la rainure du couvercle.
  • Elle concerne aussi une boîte munie d'un couvercle maintenu en place par un anneau de blocage et de scel­lement.
  • D'autres particularités et détails de l'invention ressortiront de la description suivante dans laquelle il est fait référence aux dessins ci-annexés et dans lesquels :
    • - la figure 1 est une coupe transversale d'une boîte suivant l'invention;
    • - la figure 2 est à plus grande échelle, une coupe transversale d'une partie du couvercle de la boîte et de l'extrémité de celle-ci, dans laquelle s'em­boîte le couvercles;
    • - la figure 3 est une vue semblable à celle de la fi­gure 2 montrant le couvercle emboîté dans la boîte, et
    • - les figures 4, 5 et 6 sont des vues en plan et en perspective d'un anneau de blocage et d'invio­labilité du couvercle sur la boîte.
  • Dans ces différentes figures, les mêmes signes de référence désignent des éléments identiques.
  • Ces figures représentent une boîte 1, de préférence cylindrique, fermée à une extrémité 2 par un fond 3 serti de façon connue au corps 4 de la boîte 1.
  • Ce corps cylindrique 4 est muni à son autre extré­mité 5 d'une pièce annulaire 7 apte à recevoir un cou­vercle circulaire amovible 6. Cette pièce annulaire 7 comporte une partie extérieure 8 qui est sertie sur la surface externe 9 du corps 4 et une partie intérieure qui s'écarte de la surface interne 11 du corps 4 et qui présente une extrémité intérieure 12 roulée vers l'intérieur et vers le haut de forme sensiblement to­rique. Entre sa partie extérieure 8 et son extrémité roulée 12, la pièce annulaire 7 présente une jupe 13 qui est parallèle à la surface interne 11 du corps 4 au voisinage de sa partie extérieure 8, et est perpen­diculaire à cette surface interne 11 du corps 4 au voisinage de l'extrémité roulée 12.
  • Le couvercle circulaire amovible 6 présente juste sous son bord périphérique 14 une cavité annulaire 15 à fond arrondi dirigée vers son axe 16 et destinée à servir de logement à la partie torique roulée 12 de la pièce annulaire 7.
  • Cette cavité 15 a des dimensions telles que la par­tie torique roulée 12 de la pièce annulaire 7 épouse le fond 17 de cette cavité 15 sur plus de 120°, de préférence 135°, lorsque le couvercle 6 obture la boîte 1. Ainsi, une grande surface de contact 18 existe entre ce couvercle 6 et la partie torique rou­lée 12, de manière à créer une bonne étanchéité et/ou fermeture de la boîte 1.
  • Le couvercle 6 présente le long de son bord péri­phérique 14 un rebord 19 dirigé vers la surface inter­ne 11 du corps 4, ce rebord 19 surplombant la partie torique roulée 12, lorsque le couvercle 6, en position de service, ferme la boîte 1.
  • Le couvercle 6 présente avantageusement au voisina­ge de son bord périphérique 14 une rainure circulaire 20 ouverte vers l'extérieur de la boîte 1, lorsque ce couvercle 6 obture celle-ci. Cette rainure circulaire 20 est évasée vers l'extérieur de la boîte 1 et s'étend jusqu'à un niveau 21 inférieur à celui 22 de la cavité annulaire 15.
  • Cette rainure 20 a, en partant du bord périphérique 14 vers l'axe 16, une paroi 23 inclinée par rapport à l'axe 16 et dirigée vers l'intérieur de la boîte 1, cette paroi 23 s'étendant jusqu'à un niveau 24 voisin du niveau du centre 25 de la partie roulée 12, une paroi 26 parallèle à l'axe 16 qui se termine par une partie 27 sensiblement semi-circulaire, dont le fond 28 est situé à un niveau 21 inférieur au niveau 22 de la cavité 15, et enfin une paroi 29 inclinée par rapport à l'axe 16 et dirigée vers le bas vers l'exté­rieur de la boîte 1.
  • Le couvercle 6 présente également de façon avanta­geuse une gorge circulaire 30 ouverte vers l'intérieur de la boîte 1, cette gorge 30 étant adjacente à la rainure précitée 20 et étant plus proche de l'axe 16 que ne l'est cette rainure 20.
  • Cette gorge 30 présente, en partant du côté le plus proche de l'axe 16 vers le bord périphérique 14 du couvercle, une paroi 31 sensiblement parallèle à l'axe 16 qui se termine par une partie sensiblement semi-­circulaire 32, et enfin une paroi 33 inclinée par rapport à l'axe 16 et évasée vers l'intérieur de la boîte 1.
  • Le couvercle 6 est également muni d'une cuvette centrale 34 dont le fond 35 est situé à un niveau 36 voisin du niveau 25 du centre de la partie roulée 12, lorsque ce couvercle 6 obture la boîte 1.
  • Le couvercle circulaire 6 présente une cuvette centrale 34 ouverte vers l'extérieur de la boîte 1. Cette cuvette 34 présente un rebord périphérique muni d'une cavité annulaire 15 à fond arrondi. La cavité 15 est destinée à servir de logement à une partie torique roulée 10 d'une pièce annulaire 7 qui coiffe l'extré­mité 8 à obturer du corps 9 de la boîte 1, afin de maintenir en place le couvercle 6 lorsque celui-ci est placé sur la boîte 1.
  • La cuvette 34 sert de logement à une plaquette cir­culaire 52 présentant une surface visible ayant l'aspect et/ou la coloration du revêtement obtenu, lorsque le produit contenu dans la boîte est appliqué sur une surface.
  • Cette cuvette 34 est munie de moyens de retenue de la plaquette 52 dans celle-ci. Ces moyens peuvent être situés de place en place au voisinage du bord 56 de la cuvette 34, mais s'étendent, de préférence tout le long de ce bord 56. Ces moyens sont, par exemple, constitués par un ergot ou un rebord annulaire 53 faisant saillie dans la cuvette 34.
  • Cette saillie 53 a une paroi 54 proche du bord 56 de la cuvette 34, qui présente la forme d'un tronc de cône renversé et une paroi 55 proche du fond 11 de la cuvette 34, qui est parallèle à ce fond 35.
  • La plaquette 52 qui peut être introduite et fixée dans la cuvette 34 par simple pression, peut être métallique et colorée sur une ou sur ses deux faces ou en matière plastique colorée dans la masse ou sur ses deux faces. Lorsque les deux faces d'une plaquette 52 présentent deux couleurs différentes, le fabricant de peinture peut réduire son stock de couvercles et de plaquettes, puisqu'une plaquette peut présenter l'as­pect de deux revêtements différents et que les couver­cles utilisés ne dépendent plus du produit contenu dans la boîte.
  • Dans le cas où les plaquettes sont colorées dans la masse, elles peuvent être stockées sans risque de dé­térioration due à l'humidité, l'oxygène de l'air am­biant, etc. Ces plaquettes peuvent être obtenues, par exemple, par extrusion d'un boudin qui est ensuite dé­coupé en tranches. Dans ce cas, les plaquettes peuvent être stockées sous forme de boudin à tronçonner.
  • La rainure 20 et la gorge 30, adjacente l'une à l'autre, procurent une certaine élasticité au bord du couvercle 6, de manière à permettre une fermeture aisée de la boîte, c'est-à-dire une introduction aisée de la partie roulée 12 solidaire du corps 4 de la boîte 1 dans la cavité circulaire 15 du couvercle 6. Cette élasticité permet également, lorsque le couver­cle 6 obture la boîte 1, l'application de forces radiales de contact entre le couvercle 6 et la partie roulée 12 et améliore ainsi l'étanchéité de la ferme­ture de la boîte 1. Ces forces de contact radiales sont encore accrues, lorsque la boîte 1 est retournée grâce à la pression exercée sur la paroi 31. On peut ainsi retourner la boîte 1 suivant l'invention en toute sécurité.
  • On rend le bord du couvercle 6 plus rigide en gar­nissant la gorge 30 de nervures radiales 57 s'appuyant à distances régulières sur les parois 31 et 32.
  • Enfin, la force de contact entre le couvercle 6 de la boîte suivant l'invention et la partie roulée 12 solidaire du corps 4 de la boîte 1 possède également une composante axiale grâce au pincement des extrémi­tés de la cavité 15 sur la partie roulée 12, ceci permettant encore d'améliorer l'étanchéité de la fer­meture de la boîte 1 suivant l'invention.
  • Dans une forme de réalisation préférée de la boîte 1 suivant l'invention, le couvercle 6 présente une jupe tronconique 37, dont la petite base est dirigée vers l'intérieur de la boîte 1, cette jupe 37 s'éten­dant à partir de l'extrémité de la cavité 15 la plus éloignée du bord du couvercle 6 et étant parallèle à la paroi 23 de la rainure 20.
  • La jupe 37 constitue un chanfrein d'un pli annulai­re 38 qui présente une paroi interne tronconique 33 dont la partie évasée est dirigée vers l'intérieur de la boîte 1, cette paroi 33 étant de façon avantageuse parallèle à la paroi 29 de la rainure 20, et peut être munie sur son bord extrême 39 d'un appendice cylindri­que 40 destinée à accroître l'élasticité du couvercle 6.
  • Dans cette forme de réalisation préférée, les cou­vercles 6 peuvent être emboîtés les uns au-dessus des autres, puisque la jupe 37 et la rainure circulaire 20 ont des dimensions permettant l'introduction (en traits interrompus à la figure 2) de la jupe 37 d'un couvercle dans la rainure circulaire d'un autre cou­vercle. Ceci permet un stockage facile des couvercles 6 des boîtes 1 suivant l'invention (voir figure 2).
  • Suivant une particularité de l'invention, on empê­che le couvercle de se détacher du corps de la boîte, en introduisant dans la rainure 20 un anneau de blocage 58, présentant un ergot ou un rebord annulaire faisant saillie dans un évidement annulaire de la paroi 26 de la rainure 20 du couvercle 6. Cet anneau de blocage 58 coopère avec les nervures 57. En s'ap­puyant sur les parois 26 et 29 de la rainure 20, on supprime la composante d'élasticité radiale du couvercle 6.
  • Comme illustré à la figure 4, l'anneau de blocage 58 présente une entaille 59 en forme de V renversé destinée à permettre l'introduction d'un tournevis. L'anneau de blocage sert aussi d'anneau de scellement qui garantit que le contenu de la boîte est bien intact et inviolé.
  • Pour ouvrir la boîte, il suffit d'introduire un tournevis 59, maintenu vertical, dans l'entaille de l'anneau 58 de scellement et d'inviolabilité, de manière à détacher l'anneau 58 à l'endroit de l'entaille (figure 5). Ensuite, on incline le tourne­vis et on soulève une languette d'extrémité de l'anneau 58 brisé. On retire la languette de l'anneau 58 sur toute la longueur de la rainure 20 et on enlève le couvercle en le soulevant, éventuellement en intro­duisant un tournevis entre le bord périphérique 14 du couvercle et la pièce annulaire 7 (figure 6).
  • Il est évident que la présente invention n'est pas limitée à l'exemple décrit ci-dessus et que bien des modifications peuvent y être apportées.
  • Ainsi, les moyens de fixation de l'anneau d'invio­labilité 58 dans la rainure 20, peuvent être consti­tués par un ergot ménagé sur la paroi 26 de la rainure 20, cet ergot faisant saillie dans un évidement annulaire de l'anneau d'inviolabilité 58.

Claims (6)

1. Boîte comprenant un corps (4) de boîte fermé à une extrémité inférieure (2) et muni à son extrémité supé­rieure (5) d'un couvercle circulaire amovible (6) pré­sentant une cuvette (9) destinée à servir de logement à une plaquette (12) et entourée d'une rainure cir­culaire ouverte vers l'extérieur de la boîte (1), garnie sous son bord périphérique (14), d'une cavité annulaire (15) à fond arrondi, dirigée vers son axe (16) et destinée à servir de logement à une saillie annulaire ménagée à l'intérieur du corps de la boîte (1), caractérisé en ce que l'extrémité supérieure (5) du corps de la boîte est coiffée d'une pièce annulaire (7) qui en est solidaire et qui présente, vers l'intérieur du corps (4) de la boîte (1), une partie qui s'écarte de la surface interne (11) dudit corps (4) et présente une extrémité intérieure roulée (12) de forme sensiblement torique.
2. Boîte suivant la revendication 1, caractérisée en ce que la cavité annulaire (15) susdite a des dimen­sions telles que la partie torique roulée (12) de la pièce annulaire (7) épouse le fond arrondi (17) de cette cavité (15) sur plus de 120°, lorsque le couver­cle (6) obture la boîte (1).
3. Boîte suivant l'une quelconque des revendications précédentes, caractérisée en ce que le couvercle (6) réalisé en matière plastique reçoit une plaquette (12) constituée d'un disque rigide de métal et le corps (4) de la boîte est en métal.
4. Boîte suivant l'une quelconque des revendications précédentes, caractérisé en ce qu'elle est munie d'un couvercle (6) maintenu en place par un anneau de blo­cage et de scellement (58).
5. Anneau de blocage et de scellement, caractérisé en ce qu'il présente une entaille radiale (59) en forme de V renversé.
6. Procédé pour sceller une boîte à couvercle selon l'une des revendications 1 à 3, caractérisé en ce qu'on empêche le couvercle de se détacher du corps (4) de la boîte (1), en introduisant dans la rainure (20) un anneau de blocage (58), présentant un ergot ou un rebord annulaire faisant saillie dans un évidement an­nulaire de la paroi (26) de la rainure (20) du couvercle (6).
